"Pescara is an absolute gem. The seafood is amazing and certainly the selection not expected in Rochester. This week they had to die for Alaskan Halibut that was cooked to perfection and their signature tuna tartar and insignia scallops were delicious and highly recommended. We live in Tampa and have lived in Boston and NY so seafood is always available, finding this restaurant on the 2nd night while we were in Rochester for a week allowed us 2 more visits and wish every night we ate there as there is so much to choose from (beef dishes too)."

"Pescara's food flavors are good, but it's too rich for my taste. Everything is loaded with butter/oils and salt galore. I never feel good the 12 hours after eating there. I recommend for people who don't care about dietary intake or who just want a meal to splurge on extra rich-salty food."

"No choice....For an advertised tapas restaurant they had the most limited small plates choices I have ever seen and it was very disappointing. There is opportunity to improve with a larger selection. I did not view the menu ahead of time and if I had I would have cancelled my reservation."

"This was my second Sunday brunch at Pescara. The food is fresh & delicious. It was the best brunch. I love the varieties. Something for everyone. The lobster bisque is the best part of it! The price is well worth the gourmet meal. Our waiter was very good, not too all over us, but there to check on our needs."

"You might not expect to find fresh fish and seafood in Rochester MN, but Pescara offers just that. In fact, my halibut was as good as any I've eaten on the coast. I also love how the fish is offered a variety of ways with different sauces. The salads are beautiful as well, very green and fresh. The servers are helpful, friendly, but not overly talkative.....just enough to make you feel at home. If you are ever in the area, don't miss going to Pescara."

"Everyone is SO welcoming, friendly and interesting. I always write about the food- yes the steak sandwich is simply the best and this time my out of town world travllerfriend said these were the best sweet potato fries he has had anywhere- but the staff really contributes to the wonderful meal. "We are so glad we tried Pescara! The food was absolutely fantastic. My husband had the PESCARA “INSIGNIA” SCALLOPS with
Wild mushrooms pan jus, arugula-Parmesan crostini, truffle oil, and chives and a Caesar salad. I had the seared halibut with smoked gouda hash browns. Yum.
Our server, Candace, was very knowledgeable about the menu, wine, etc. Her service was superb.
We will definitely be back!"

"I have pretty discriminating taste and had my doubts that a restaurant with fresh seafood could exist in rochester. I was clearly wrong with my assumptions. I went there with a group of friends and we all LOVED the food, drinks, and dessert. I had Cioppino, which was filled with fresh seafood. Probably the best Cioppino I have ever had and I have eaten this dish in Seattle and NYC. They had a nice wine selection. I feasted on bread pudding for dessert, which was AMAZING! The lemon sorbet was also delicious and light. The service was also excellent.
Overall, this is a gem in Rochester. A place with a great attitude, delicious food, and great service. The only drawback is it is a little noisy. I highly recommend this place!"

"My family went to Pescara for my mother's birthday. I highly recommend the small plate platter for two as an appetizer - it had a little of everything we wanted to try and is enough to serve 3-4 people if you are also ordering meals. "It's nicer and quieter than your average restaurant, and the service was outstanding. My steak was excellent and my wife's linguini & tuna was too. It's not kid-friendly, a BIG plus for us. Additionally, it's just two blocks from the Rochester Civic Center and there's plenty of parking nearby, and that parking is free on weekend evenings. We liked it, and it was a great start to a nice, romantic evening."

"The food remains great but the service has been severely sacrificed at this once great restaurant. The dish and water sets provided better service than the waiter. We were persistently and consistently ignored by the waiter drawing a pleasant dinner into a marathon waiting prior to service and between courses. Too bad- was one of our favorite restaurants"

"I really enjoyed my dinner of halibut with a side order of mushrooms. I was in Rochester on business and dined alone. The staff couldn't have been nicer! The tables are fairly close together and ended up next to a quartet of doctors talking shop. (Perhaps to be expected in Mayo Clinic land?) The kitchen had run out of the chocolate dessert I had my heart set on. Ordered room service from Doubletree the following evening. Also very good pasta with shrimp."

"The food was good but not great and we were disappointed that there was no vegetarian entree on the dinner menu, although they had a terrific vegetarian option at lunch. The staff were all pleasant and helpful and are one of the main virtues of the place. Also, like many, we were not in Rochester for pleasure, but for appointments at the Mayo Clinic, and Pescara was an especially nice, relaxing oasis at a rather difficult time for both patient and spouse. We'll be back in Rochester in a couple of weeks and we'll eat there again."

"Prices are much too high. A piece of fish $37.00 without a side dish. $150.00 for two without salad, side dish,dessert or coffee. You leave hungry and feel like you payed for a large meal."

"Food was outstanding and the service impeccable. One of the few places in Minnesota to enjoy truly fresh fish. Food preparations are imaginative and delicious. A bowl of lobster bisque could be a meal in itself. Menu items are pricey, but this kind of quality experience is worth the cost."

"Held a business dinner for guests from California where fresh seafood is plentiful and good. Our business guest were very impressed with Pescara and said the food and service were easily on par with some of the finer resteraunts in the Bay Area. The grouper was particularly good!"

"Always nice to eat at Pescara. One small complaint: I made a reservation for 7:00 (via OpenTable), got there in time but told table was not ready. Half hour later, asked again and told it would still be a while. After complaining some, they did offer some drinks. When we were walked in a few minutes later, there were clearly tables available. Kind of annoying that they were not able to sit us at the time of the reservation. Dinner was great!"

"It's always a treat when you can find an excellent restaurant in your hotel. This is the only restaurant we have tried in Rochester and it lived up to it's #1 rating on TripAdvisor. My wife described her lobster bisque as the best she has ever tasted, and we have eaten at hundreds of restaurants all over the world in the past few years. The apple-blue cheese salad was excellent, as well. Her whole branzina, deboned tableside, was perfectly prepared; my scallops (the signature dish) was superior except for the mushroom jus, which was too salty. That's a shame since the flavor of the mushrooms was masked somewhat. Service was truly superior in all respects. They also have a $9.95 breakfast buffet which is great."

"Pescara offers reliably excellent fish and seafood in a nice atmosphere. The service was helpful and the recommendation from the wait staff were also good. Pescara has a nice wine list, but like the menu items, everything was slightly overpriced compared to a similar quality restaurant in a large market. Still, excellent sea food in Rochester MN is appreciated."

"Pescara is our go-to restaurant in Rochester for romantic date nights, entertaining guests, and even kid-friendly brunches on the weekends. The ambiance is comfortable, elegant, and modern, but not stuffy. The food is consistently value-oriented, with complex flavor profiles,satisfying portion sizes, and creative ingredients for the cost. HITS include: tuna tartare, calamari, hummus and scallops; all the salads are good; the wild rice, sauteed spinach, risotto, brussels sprouts are all amazing sides; the bronzini (especially), halibut, and grouper are all delightful, and the steaks are consistently good. The service is knowledgeable, attentive, personable, and NOT snooty. The cocktails are expertly mixed, and the wine selection is solid!"

"Although our raw oysters for our appetizer were very small, expensive and not very good, our fish entrees were excellent. Had grilled scallops in lemon beurre blanc sause and halibut with truffle sauce Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgable. Enjoyed the Brussels sprouts side dish and reasonable bottle of wine."
