"This was our first experience at Red. It was recommended to us by a friend as a nice place to go and celebrate our 20th wedding anniveraary. Everything that evening couldn't have been better! Our waiter, Lisa, was upbeat and kind. She was very knowledgable as to helping us with menu choices, and was very attentive to us throughout the evening. The food was superb! My husband had a prime angus beef steak, and I had red snapper fillet. The sides are large enough to share! We had the asparagus, which was mouth watering, and tender. We also had a baked potato, which was huge! We started with appetizers of onion soup, which was awesome, and arugula salad with strawberries and goat cheese; also very tasty. We will definitely return!"

"Our waiter was kind, knowledgeable and very attentive. The food was fantastic and steak cooked to perfection. It did not have nor need seasoning or sauce. They make a delicious Manhattan and have a substantial wine list. It was a very nice evening. The only trouble we had was finding the place. We entered through Moxie. That worked just fine."

"We went to Red for a birthday celebration and it was perfect! They have a large selection of wine and great food. I would recommend the stuffed peppers as an appetizer and chocolate cake with gelato as a dessert. Several steak options available with a la carte family style sides. It is a little pricey ... Especially if you are drinking. Great service too!"

"its prices are geared to business expense accounts. (The menu is entirely a la carte. And the wine, by the glass, costs about twice what glass wine costs in other Cleveland restaurants.)
The aged prime filet and strip steak were perfectly cooked to order, finished with sea salt, freshly cracked pepper, and oil brushed on. (Next time I would order less pepper: the delicious meat flavor was masked.) Unctuous bearnaise, but it could use more lemon. King crab risotto was more "wet" than creamy. The creamed corn was fresh, sweet, crisp, and not overborne by sauce. The salads were standouts too-the house vinaigrette was well balanced with a good olive oil; the wedge had the right balance of bacon, blue cheese, and peppered ranch dressing."

"Great place for a special night out. Steaks and all the food we had was unbelievable. Waiter was very knowledgeable with the wine list and the cheese list.
The only drawback is it is a little noisy inside and we sat next to some large groups with small children playing video games.

Negatives: More than a bit disappointing that a $100+ bottle of red wine comes to the table at room temperature. Also, we had asked to take home the uneaten half of my wife's stripsteak - unfortunately the kitchen/waitstaff crossed signals and it was tossed."

"when I made the reservation I said it was my best friends big birthday. the restaurant gave her Happy Birthday plate with Lava cake icecream..happy Birthday written in chocolate..it was so nice and she was so impressed she talked about it for days took pictures of the plated. "Red is an interesting place. A little hard to find since it is tucked away in a strip center and the sign is hidden by the hedges, but the food was very good. Their specialty is prime steak and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was very busy serving the dinner-meeting crowds, so the service suffered a bit. The manager and wait staff, though, apologized many times and we left happy. Their stuffed pepper appetizer is a must."

"Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. I would have appreciated a visit from a wine expert but was able to choose an old favorite so that was decent. We sat in the bar and there was a very loud table nearby which was somewhat irritating. The mussels which 2 of us shared were flavorful. One entree, the tuna, was excellent and so were the spring peas, perfectly seasoned with some red pepper flakes. Our other entree, salmon, was a bit disappointing in that it did not taste as fresh as we have experienced in the past. There was a special entree, halibut, which we would have preferred but they had run out at 8:45 PM."

"After going to two steakhouses in NYC over the weekend we decided to go to our Cleveland favorite Red to see how it stacked up to the NY steakhouses. The result . . . Red is the best by far. Our server, Rich, was fabulous. Attentive, but not overbearing, he knew his stuff and made everything sound appetizing (which we knew it would be). No need to go to NYC for a great steak when Red is in our hometown! Best steak in Cleveland no doubt, would give the "big boys" in NY a run for their money!!"

"My wife and I have been here 7 or 8 times. This was the first time ever the service has lacked. Our server completely missed that it was our Anniversary while showering the table next to us with praise as they were celebrating their's as well. He then failed to tell us what desserts they were out of, while again we heard him tell the table next to us. And then he asked a table within earshot what their price limitation on wine was vs. if they had a range they wanted to stay within (tone was very rude when he did it). We spoke with the Manager upon leaving the restaurant and she was very gracious and understanding. We usually request Cyrus to be our server and will do so from now on, he is simply amazing and what you would expect here."

"I have dined at RED many times and I would rate it as excellent and consistent. The restaurant is well appointed both in the bar area and in the dining room. "Yesterday April 2nd was my 2 year wedding anniversary and I decided to choose a different resturant than I usually go to (Maggiano's) boy was that a great choice! Since it was both my wife and I first time there we had no idea what to expect or get. Our waiter Jerry W as it appears on my receipt, was very outstanding in helping us select our food!!! We had no idea what to get and he went on to explain what the specials were and how much food you get. He was instrumental in helping us decide on what we wanted. He brought out my wifes apple martini without me even mentioning it and he said happy anniversary to my wife and I. Jerry gave us a complimentry dessert on the house at the end of the night..bonus!!!! Great Customer suppport!"

"We went for Restaurant Week (advertised at $33 for 3 courses) and got a chuckle out of the real price ($39) and the featured RW steak - sirloin, which is not on the regular menu. Their regular diners won't be put off, but if they were trying to attract new customers, maybe...That said, food was terrific, as always, and the portions are very generous. Great place for a real date night!"

"Not just the best steak in the city but perhaps the country. The rib eye was cooked perfectly as always and tasted great. The risotto was amazing. Love the half bottle of wine option. Even though I was stuffed I had to have the doughnuts. My favorite restaurant in the city by a long shot."

"Wonderful experience in every way. The food, wine, and service were absolutely excellent. We ordered appetizers, steaks, fish, sides, drinks, and wine, and everything was perfect. We were celebrating a special occasion and the server brought out a beautiful, delicious dessert in honor of this. We cannot recommend Red highly enough."

"After reading reviews about Red I was determined to try it. I took my lovely girlfriend there March 23 having made my reservation on Open Table. The staff was very nice and our server was excellent. The server went over the daily specials and then proceeded to tell us that Red was well known for it's steaks. So of course we both ordered steaks, her the filet and my self the rib eye. They came and looked great and were cooked perfect. However, I was not blown away by it. We weren't sure if we were expecting more because of all the reviews we had read but as far as steaks go we were unimpressed. Don't get me wrong the food was good but $40 - $48 a plate good?"
