"I brought my husband to Murray's for Father's Day and it was one if the best meals/ experiences we have ever had in a restaurant. Our waiter was attentive, but not intrusive. Our cocktails were perfect, as was our tartar, chateaubriand and salad/soup. The owner, Tim, stopped over to check in. Everything was absolutely top-notch. We will definitely be returning! The remodel is gorgeous, while keeping the elegance of the original place."

"We don't often go into Minneapolis for dinner, but this was a great experience. The staff was very attentive, from the valet service to the hosts thanking us as we left. TJ was a great server, and the food was delicious. Tuna appetizer and Silver Butter knife steak. Even the bread was memorable! We will definitely keep this on our short list! We have already encourage many of our friends to go, it was such a great experience."

"We were at Murray's for my husband's birthday, but whether it is a birthday, anniversary or just dining out with friends and family you cannot go wrong at Murray's. Maybe I am a bit biased because I have been coming here since I was old enough to go to restaurants with my mom ... Not say in' how long that is either but suffice it to say I still keep coming back and bringing my friends, family and associates. Definitely worth the trip."

"hadn't been to Murray's for 20 years but knew they'd re-modeled and it was close to Pantages Theater so returned. Loved it!! The New York Strip was the best steak I'd eaten in recent years. and I eat at lots of high-end steakhouses. it was tops. Marcia who has worked at Murray's for 41 years was our waitress and she was a delightful. Great service. I'll definitely be going back to Murray's more often. oh...love the re-design...it's lovely."

"I've eaten at pretty much all of the top steak places in the 5 state Area, and some come close to Murray's, but none of them match. My porterhouse was the best steak that I've ever had, my wife had the filet and she also stated that she's never had better as well. Cheaper than Manny's, better quality meat, service and atmosphere. The quintessential *perfect* steakhouse."

"I have never tasted such wonderful flavor in a steaks.The first time that I was at Murray's we ate in the bar area and that was great but the last time my husband and I ate in the back dinning room and that was beautiful. Thank you for your special foods and great service."

"The service was great, with our water glasses being filled continuously and staff being available to remove plates, etc. The greatest part of the service was our waiter, Anthony. "We have not been to Murray's for about 20 years. It is completely remodeled, fresh and updated. The bar looked cozy for sharing a cocktail and appetizer. The group of 10 of us were seated in the main dining room. Several of us ordered the silver butter knife steak for 2. We all had more than enough to eat. I took a small piece home. We ordered 3 rare/medium-rare. The steak was delicious, tender, but there was inconsistency in how they were cooked. One was very rare, one was medium, the 3rd was okay. Sides were big, enough to split 2-3 ways. Garlic bread was great. People were happy with their caesar salads. The beet salad was good but could have had more lettuce and less beets."

"The decor is comfortable - classic -- a place to feel comfortable dressed up or in business attire. The noise level was quiet to moderate - making the atmosphere alive and yet allowing ease in hearing all at the table, something many modern restaurants are missing. As expected the food was excellent. We started with escargot which was served out of the shell in a garlic-herb butter with french bread slices -- very tasty. Entrees included the blue cheese encrusted filet, the filet medallions, and the lamb chops. All were top quality and cooked to perfection. Sides were the almond green beans and au gratin potatoes. I was not impressed with the potatoes but they were ultimately just a garnish anyway."

"The new make-over at Murray's maintains the 'special occasion' celebratory feel that I remember from years ago. Still one amazing wine list. But on this particular night, a celebration of a special 50th birthday, the attention and care of Anthony, our waiter, made the evening totally memorable! If every member of the wait-staff is as good as Anthony, this is one place that absolutely belongs on everyone's 'must dine there' list."

"Murray's is a classic old steakhouse without a stuffy feel. The food was good but the seasoning was too much. The bread in was too salty and buttery and the mashed potatoes had way too much pepper in them. Glad we went for the experience but probably won't be back anytime soon."

"My brother & I took our parents to Murray's to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint! Great ambience, amazing service, and phenomenal food!!! Murray's very much lives up to the well earned reputation they have. It may have been our first trip to Murray's but it will definitely not be our last! Superb!!!"

"Our table was near the back where they came out of the kitchen with the food. The staff would stand back there and talk. That was noisy and distracting. The food was EXCELLENT! We had the Butter knife steak for two. Our waiter was EXCELLENT! The other wait staff were very attentive. We were surprised with a complimentary brownie ice cream dessert with lighted candle. It was very special. The french onion was great and so were those little crunch garlic cheese breads that we were served right away. It was so nice to be at a restaurant that is not a bar and grill type. It was very upscale. The valet parking was nice to have. Only $8. I'd pay that anytime-better than parking in the ramp and having to walk."

"Murray's is known as a nice dinner steakhouse. They do a pretty good job at lunch and it is a nice business setting. I took a client there, who commented, "It's been years since I came here for dinner, hadn't really thought about it for lunch - Great Choice...""

"I did not like the unusual lettuce leaves in the salad. If it would have used them as a minor ingredient it would have been fine, but some regular bib or romaine would have been good. It was kind of like eating grass. We enjoyed Dennis and his service."

"I'd been to Murrays years ago. I recalled not being impressed. At that time mauve colored linens, dank atmosphere, metal steakhouse plates, mediocre/unoriginal offering and especially the overpriced steaks left me not wanting to return given so many better options in the Twin Cities to spend good money for upscale dining and much better steaks. We returned again hearing of a makeover. Nice looking but pales in comparison to the decor and design of many of it's competitors DT. We had polite, prompt and knowledgeable service. Most of the food was good - not great through. Nothing special in presentation or preparation. Most disappointing was a tough, over salted NY Strip. So sad for a $46 steak to not melt in ones mouth. We won't be back."

"It is slightly expensive BUT a wonderful evening. And actually I was pleased with the wine by the bottle prices. The thing that I was disappointed about (as I remember it from years ago) was the bread basket. We had a group of 4 and there was one pretzel roll-one rye roll and the rest the salty garlic bread. Seems that there should have been at least 2 of each roll so that each couple could share. TRULY though it was a delightful and DELISH meal !!! Silver Butter Knife steak certainly did NOT dissappoint!!!
ALSO....love the fact that the servers are so knowledgeable about their product and enthusiastic about their restaurant.
Overall a wonderful dinner and evening !

"We went for our aniversary - husband had never been there- would certainly go back for special occassions. We can't aford this type of dining on regular basis, but would go back again as the pocket book allows.

"We decided to celebrate our Anniversary at Murray's because of the exceptional food and service we've received in the past. Unfortunately, we were disappointed this time. We ordered the Silver butter knife steak to share and the food itself was fabulous! Our waitress was not very attentive. Our water glasses sat empty, and after she dropped off our dinner she never came back to see if we needed anything. We had to ask the guy bussing the tables for some butter for our baked potatoes. Even after finishing our meal we sat for a minimum of 10 minutes before seeing her across the room so we could wave at her to bring our check. All in all, it was wasn't a memorable experience this time."

"Going to Murray's for us is a special event. This was the case for us on Sunday evening. Everyone from the valet that took the car to the bus boy that kept table clear made us feel welcome. The food was fantastic and the only drawback was one loud patron that seemed full of both the martini's he was drinking and himself. We will always go back for that special feeling. We love Murray's!!!"
