Veteran restaurateurs David Loewenberg and Michael Nolan teamed up to open Fresno in the spring of 2004. The New American menu emphasizes simple yet sophisticated preparations of local fare.
Located on the edge of the village of East Hampton, the space is an airy, sky lit room featuring a wall of French doors overlooking a landscaped patio with a fountain where one may enjoy outdoor dining under a pergola. In the dining room, there is a long upholstered banquette along the opposite wall and a sleek zinc bar on the back wall anchors the space.
"Fresno is a go-to neighborhood restaurant for us. Good, consistent food, great ambience - and you can make a reservation! Love the active (but not crazy bar)"

"Everything was perfect from the service to the scrumptious food by the chef. What a great place to dine and enjoy the company of friends. The menu selection is superb, food tasty and not over seasoned. Will return again!"

"This is a wonderful restaurant in every way. We dine here often, in all seasons, and our experience has always been that the food is consistently of a high caliber and the wait staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and attentive, no matter how busy it gets. The off season is the best, because that is the time the superb chef can mingle with us, so we can tell her how tastefully prepared every dish we have tried has been. Everyone we introduce to this restaurant rates it as highly as we do. Here's to a New Year of pleasing our palates at Fresno!"

"Although there is a prix fixe there is an additional charge on most entrees and all desserts. It is still a "bargain" compared with the prices on the regular menu, but none-the-less annoying."

"Great prix-fixe menu options offered until 6:32 pm on weekends and all night weekdays off-season and all night at the bar in season. Cordial service, good food in a pleasant atmosphere."

"Fresno is lovely in the off season. Although we did not take advantage of it, they offer a great early-bird dinner special. The food is consistently good - we enjoyed the cod casserole on the menu, which was perfect for a winter night- filling with gigante beans, mushrooms and pancetta in a thick, flavorful broth. The salmon was fine, but arrived with a rosemary-infused sauce not mentioned on the menu - ask for it without if you don't like that herb. Our waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable. It is a cozy and comfortable dining room."
