"I have been to all of McEwan's restaurants and have high standards when it comes to food and service as a result. Fabbrica was the last on my list to try out and I was very excited because I've always had great dinning experiences chez Mark . However, I was quite disappointed with the food, it was very underwhelming. We order the mushroom pizza which was just okay and lobster mac and cheese which lacked flavor and that melt in your mouth lobster I expected from a McEwan joint. The dessert was the redeeming factor of our meal a perfect melange of chocolate and cherries. The service was still excellent, waitress for very friendly and knowledgeable but the decor was simple and clean nothing too special. Definitely not my fav Mcewan eatery."

"I went to Fabbrica for brunch with a couple of friends on a Saturday. I've been wanting to try this place for a while as I am a fan of the McEwen brand. I liked that the brunch menu offered a good lunch selection as well. I ordered the short rib hash which came with 2 poached eggs. Shortrib is one of my favourites so I typically order it if its on the menu. I thought this dish was pretty good but it didn't blow me away. The presentation was excellent but I thought the hash (potato and some carrot) was a bit too salty and definitely too greasy. The sauce made for a good soak for the ciabatta bread though. Overall a very rich dish that could use a simple side salad to add some freshness. The iced Nutella latte was amazing. Anna"

"My girlfriend and I dined on a late Monday afternoon for a light snack after work. The food (pizza and pasta) was great, and the environment was quite nice. Hostess and staff were fine overall. Our server was alright up until he asked us whether we would like to order any drinks. He lost his smile after we only ordered water and coffee, and the rest of the meal was just come and go for him.
As we approached the end of our meal, the server brought over our bill, I paid, and then we went our ways.
I feel like there is so much heart in the food that is presented at the restaurant, but this love was lost in the service. Too bad."

"The service took 2 1/2 hours for lunch. My cousin ordered the steak salad and it was so fatty she literally choked on a piece of the meat. The waiter was so rude! Saying "well you ordered medium" as if the meat is obviously going to be tough. Which, is ridiculous. It was a real disappointment!"

"Reliably excellent food and service. One of my favorite spots for Italian food. I've yet to have anything that I didn't truly enjoy. In particular, the veal brisket was fantastic. One minor criticism, we've eaten here 3 times. We always get placed at the same table, in an isolated part of the restaurant, near the kitchen. To be fair, I've never asked for a different table. Is it because we are a party of 5 or because we show up with kids? I suspect the latter. Our kids are 8, 12, & 14. Not small children. Our last reservation was for 9:15 on a quiet night. I didn't think too much of it but my kids later let me know that they would have preferred to sit in the restaurant. It might be hard to get my gang to agree to return in the near future."

"From service to the quality of food, Fabbrica scores almost perfectly in all categories if it is not for music that was turned just a bit too loud. Having been to "North 44" and "By Mark", Fabbrica maintains the high quality food from McEwen's other restaurants with a slightly more casual atmosphere which was very relaxing. The server was very knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive. It was one of the most enjoyable dining experience my boyfriend and I had in recent memory. We definitely recommend this restaurant."

"True to Italian rural cuisine, on expensive side but the staff don't hurry you and its a great evening out. Food quality is uniformly excellent and has high taste density. Bacon chop tasty and generous. Salads are interesting and good appetizers. Fritti is lightly battered and fresh although some of the fish bodies are a little too large to not require deboning (they are gutted). Desserts not the strongest but the appetizers and mains (with separate sides) are the reason d'etre of this restaurant. Ambience is nice overall but choice of music sometimes interferes and can interrupt conversation. Efficiently run."

"Came for dinner. We arrived a bit late but still seated right away. Service was outstanding - attentive and professional. Always at the ready. Food was served at a good pace. Bread was warm - always a plus. We shared the beet salad (excellent - they divided into 2 portions) and the fritti (a bit small and mostly smelt, which had a lot of bones - still tasty with the aioli). Mains were very good - 2 of the pastas. Did not try the pizza. No room for desert! Overall a very good evening."

"The food was excellent. The pasta sauce was very flavourful although the ravioli had too much salt at the bottom of the dish.The service however was subpar. No fresh ground pepper or grated cheese offered with the entree arrival. The entrees came staggered instead of all at once. The server came only once after the appetizer course to see how the meal was going. This is the more casual of McEwan's restaurant group and although I wasn't expecting the service level of Bymark or North 44, the service was lacking to say the least. If I just wanted the food, I could have gone across to his grocery store and reheated the pasta dishes in the microwave for far less."

"A bit pricey especially since both the pasta and pizza were mediocre. We expected more considering it is a Mark McEwan restaurant. The wood oven pizza was too soft on bottom and burnt around the edges. Good location and free parking a bonus."

"Not as impressed this time as on our first visit here. Overall, an appealing restaurant with a great menu, and delicious food. However, the service seemed to be extremely slow in bringing our entrees, although the restaurant was fairly empty. One of the strip loins that was ordered medium rare came close to well done, while the other was a correct medium rare. The foie gras appetizer was heavenly though, and we all liked the roasted beet salad. Other than tiramisu, nothing on the dessert menu sounded very tempting, so we didn't have any of them. Based on how much we liked it the first time, and because I like that they offer grass-fed steak on the menu, we may give it one more try some day."

"Fabbrica is our go-to place for pretty much eany time of outing. Had not been in a few months; it was nice to see new items on the menu. Foie gras was delicious if not a little bit sweet and portion a tad bit tiny. Fritti was delicious (love the grlled lmn). Arancini was delicious as always. Pizzas were perfect as always. Husband loves the rabbit pasta.David was supurb as always (we love that you have him there). Our server Matthew must have had a bad day b/c he disuaded us from: the foie gras, mac and cheese, rabbit pasta. I felt like he didn't like anything your menu. Nice guy, but that much negativity is not good. Had we not known how good the food was, we would have scared to death of what we were going to eat, based on Matthew's advice"

"From the moment we walked in with the stroller, we were taken care of by the hostess. Requesting for a table ahead of time to accomodate the stroller, was noted, and we were seated at a great corner table. Our lunch was great, and the nice touch by the hostess/manager, upon noticing that my 2 other guest were having Proseco with their lunch, she brought over a matching glass filled with gingerale and apple juice, so I would not feel left out. Very nice attention to detail. Our server on the other hand was not as attentive as we would have liked, but the food and atmosphere made up for that. Would return for lunch again."

"Service was quick and server was very knowledgeable about the menu and dishes. I like that the menu was overwhelming. Great quality ingredients and extremely well done -- loved the parapadelle (sp?) pasta with short ribs. Beet salad with goat's cheese was also delicious. Tea a bit weak -- too large a pot with only one teabag."

"Great pizzas. Cooked in a wood-burning oven The ends are charred with pockets of air-blisters. Crispy with great taste. The pasta comes out hot.

"The service was excellent, and the room is comfortable and charming. The food is good, not great. A little too much salt, a lot expensive. The wine list could use a few more lower priced options - there are only 2 or 3 choices under $50. We were a party of four - 2 couples- and chose the restaurant partly for it's midway location between our homes. I had the risotto, my husband had the scallops, our friends shared the porterhouse for 2. We also ordered salads and a mushroom side. dessert was tiramisu, which was delicious, and the spumone for 2, which was not worth the price.It was a pleasant evening, but I would not rush back."

"This was our second visit to Fabbrica and the experience was as great as the previous visit. The server was very attentive and polite and she regularly filled our glasses with water. The appetizer - Fruiti - consisted of smelts, oysters, and popcorn shrimp lightly breaded and fried. The presentation was nice and it tasted great. My parents each ordered a different dish - my dad had a salmon or trout, mom had a linguine with shrimp, and I had a rizotto with duck. The wine I had with the meal was a bit pricey at 15. Coffee was very good as it is made fresh."

"This is probably our 5th time at Fabbrica. Things have definatley improved since opening. Pizza's are amazing! I'm italian and whenever I order Pizza at Fabbricca I'm pleasantly reminded of italy and their real wood burning oven pizza's. Yum!!! Another favourite is the Orata (Seabream kind of fish) Wonderful to say the least. The rapini were to die for but I have a feeling that a good dose of olive oil or butter went into it making it delectable.
Waiter was very attentive to our 7 year old son. We will return. Yes, a bit pricey, but quality it there."

"We were greeted warmly by the hostess and were happy to have given the choice of seating areas .
The food was wonderfully presented. Our wine selection complimented the delicious food. Food portions were adequate and the prices were reflective of the freshness of the ingredients used.

"My husband and I took his mother (a real foodie!) to Fabbrica to celebrate her 88th birthday. Everything about our meal was wonderful: the food was excellent, the service was attentive, but not overbearing; and a dessert platter and capuccinos were served to us "on the house" to celebrate her birthday! Fabbrica has become one of our favourite restaurants over the past year."
