"we've been comming ere for several years. While still a favorite spot, and great place to watch a ball game, I'd like to see the menu updated a little. The service has dropped off as well....wait staff seem to be more typical of other places, previously a notch above most. Still a very consistent Pig Iron Porter. - keep it flowing."

"Iron Hill in Newark is such a refreshing change of pace in this college town. Nice wood paneled interior with courteous and attentive service. We had delicious burgers and wonderful beers. May was burger month and I had the Fresno, which was 'out of this world'. Highly recommend for family get togethers, a quieter space and a more adult environment. And clean, clean, clean. We will be back!"

"We are never disappointed in the food & service at this Newark DE Main Street restaurant -- the tables in the back by the kitchen are not our favorite as the noise from the kitchen exceeds our conversations. Ask for up front dining if you make a reservation -- and Iron Hill staff -- please seat reservations in the better tables!"

"We have been dining occasionally at Iron Hill Newark for many years, and chose it for Mother's Day lunch. Food and beer were top-notch as usual. Restaurant was very busy ("energetic"!), but service and kitchen were keeping up and staying cheerful. Only real problem was parking; none was available onsite or in nearby public lot, so the nearest street space was a long walk."

"Being gluten free makes it very hard to eat however I found that Iron Hill had a great gluten free menu. They did not just have a few things to offer as most restaurants normally just offer salads, they had a whole separate 2 page menu with desserts and beer included that I could enjoy. Going here for Mothers Day was a perfect choice as everyone enjoyed it and the menu will definitely bring me back again."

"IH is an OK place to eat, food is fair, service can be great if you get the right person and the beer is generally good. It is not the same as it was when IH was a small company with a half dozen stores led by great local managers, brewers and chefs. The beer continues to be good, but the food and service has become mediocre, nothing new, fresh or special coming from the kitchen anymore and service which is no better than any chain restaurant."

The parking lot was full, the closest pay lot was full and we drove around looking for metered spots but we didn't have change so we had to run around looking for an open store to get quarters. "Full disclosure, criteria for a restaurant is decent food, noteable beer list and food for our not so adventurous kids. I would say it met that criteria, but didn't exceed it. Tried four different brews, all good. Tuna tartare was amazing. French onion soup was great. Jaegerschnitzel was kind of bland. Fish taco appetizer, ummm, 1992 wants it's pineapple chutney back. Dessert and cheese plate were good, however, proper artisanal baguette would have been a better accompaniment with the cheeses than the white bread (italian) loaf served. All in all, good value and certainly pleasant enough."

"This was the first time I'd used OpenTable at Iron Hill. I had originally made the reservation for 6, but called the restaurant the day before, to update our party to 8. When we arrived, our group table had already been put together, and we were seated right away! The service was good, food was excellent, and it was a great experience for a family get-together!"

"We sat outside on the most beautiful day of the year, the neighborhood was bussling and full of excitment. The beer list was delightful and the ones we tried were delicious. My husband had a pizza with a garlic cream sauce and I had a hard time not stealing it all after having a bite, nothing short of amazing. My son had a childs meatloaf which delighted him (no where has a childs meatloaf), he licked his plate clean. The food was generously portioned and super delicious. Our server was knowledgable and was able to help us with recommendations based on flavors we enjoyed. A wonderful day, we will definately be going back again and again."

"Great beer, good food. The service was pleasant, but confused. We had reservations, but it took a long time to seat us. We then waited a long time for our entrees. For some reason they brought the entrees out without bringing our nachos. The nachos turned into dessert. Haven't had an experience like that for a while. At least they were nice about it."
