"Of course the beers are top notch. Our party of 11 included 2 toddlers in highchairs. We were assigned 2 waitstaff, who were quick, non-intrusive and efficient. they brought out kids meals first. One appetizer was spicier than anticipated, and the manager came right over to see if we wanted something else. Entrees were great as well."

"Iron Hill has a consistently good menu, with interesting (but not weird) choices. There is everything from pizza and burgers to mussels and other seafood. Good-sized portions on appetizers - good for sharing, even if they don't say so. Burgers and steaks cooked as ordered - we like them medium-rare, and some restaurants think this just means vaguely pink! It is a little noisy, but the booths are big and deep, so that cuts down on noise. Beer variety is always good, with standards and seasonal choices. They do have a full bar and wine too. Not really for little kids, but we have taken ours there since they were in middle school and could behave reliably in a "grown-up restaurant". Service can be a little slow at peak times."

The atmosphere was pleasant, classy but not "stuffy". The food, while nothing flashy or unheard of, was delicious! Service was top-notch, too!

"I live in Dover and have season tickets to the DuPont theater. We always get dinner at Iron Hill before the show. We have said many times, if the show isn't great we know the beer and dinner will be. We have been doing this for many years. The food and service have always been consistently good. Of course the beer is always great."

"I visited this location with my partner and two of our boys (11&8) on opening night for the Blue Rocks. At first we were seated upstairs in the bar area. The noise level here was so loud I couldnt even hear the kids who were across the table in the same booth. I asked our sever if there was additional seating downstairs that was less overwhelming with the noise. I explained this was our first visit and it was too much with the family. "While the food was outstanding, the service was very slow. 4 of us were seated at a booth in the bar area (not our choice to sit there) and I would not recommend this. I have eaten downstairs in the main dining area and the service was very good. A large group that came in approx. 15 minutes after us even received their food first after sharing appetizers and that was extremely disappointing. Each time I had to look around for our waitress to signal her for things we needed like our appetizers and our check...."

"Iron Hill Riverfront is a gem. In summer, you can tie up your motorboat and come right in for a meal. The Delaware Children's Museum is two doors down, and the Blue Rocks ballpark, DuPont Nature Museum and Penn IMAX theater are a block away! The food is great, too, and ample. Our server, Ed, made sure our order was perfect. We ordered the Brewski Burger and Chicken Breast Sandwich, both which can be made low-carb with no problem at all! The service is ALWAYS friendly and efficient. The children's menu has lots of fresh items. Come on in, you won't be sorry!"

The coating is so light and the calamari was so tender. Nice aioli complements perfectly. Brussels sprouts with bacon and almonds were incredible. The blackened chicken pasta was just ok though. "This was our first (and possibly only) time eating here. We made reservations but still had to wait almost 1/2 hr for table. There were a few large parties seated near us which may have been why our service was so slow. But we all ordered pretty basic items and we were offered bread that never came and did not see our waiter again until after food was delivered. I had to ask for my soup that was to come as an appetizer (although waiter was nice enough to comp that)and honestly none of us were that impressed with the entrees. Might be a while before we try that one again!"

"Six of us were seated in a booth which was a bit cramped. It was quite noisy and difficult to have conversations with everyone. I sat in the middle, and could only speak to the person on one side of me at at time because the other person couldn't hear. The server was prompt and our food was all served at the same time. Each couple traveled from PA, MD and NJ to meet here. Everyone seemed pleased with my choice."

"We were a party of 12. Iron Hill did a great job in having our table ready. They were quick to get us our drinks and had good suggestions on appetizers to share. Everyone had a great meal. For a large party and one waitress the service was great."

"We had people from Pa and Md. meet for dinner. We have done this before. Our food was delicious. Our service was not as good as usual. They had several big parties upstairs. The servers seemed to be helping each other. This led to them forgetting things and not checking for coffee refills."

"Too noisy. loved that that's a separate rating option. too bad your 1-4 rating choice is flawed. there is no "too loud" option? #4 certainly shouldn't be "don't recall". believe me, I recall, and it was like most places, too loud. there's energetic and then there's a notch above, which is what this was."

"Good food and service, but the noise level was VERY high. Conversation was nearly impossible. It was a Friday night and the bar scene was hopping, so that may have been the cause of the noise level. Also, the unfinished ceilings (fairly routine these days) kept the noise level very high."

"A group of us came from Chestertown, MD to have lunch at Iron Hill followed by show at Delaware Theater. This is our 3rd outing which always includes Iron Hill. A great lunch was had with terrific service. And of course, the beer list is great."

"Thief time in a row we were seated upstairs in the back room. I hate the back room. You feel like over flow customer and they had no where to put you.
Food is just average. You can get the same anywhere.
We selected Iron Hill because it was convenient to the new IMAX but otherwise, I wouldn't make the trip."

"We were first time visitors to Iron Hill Brewery. Although there is one closer to us we chose the Wilmington store as they had better parking. Advanced seating is a must. there was a wait but not for us. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. The staff was friendly and helpful. We sampled several beers and one them is my new favorite. Wife had the mushroom soup and a filet. Both were very good. We will make a return trip."

"The crabcakes at Iron Hill are the best!! Plenty of crab and taste and not much filler. Husband got the Brewski Burger (no brew in it), which has mushrooms, onions, and cheese on it. He orders it without the bun, and with a side salad, it makes a great satisfying low-carb meal. Portions are generous; if you leave Iron Hill hungry, it's not their fault! Our server made sure everything was excellent. Service is always excellent at Iron Hill, friendly, professional, knowledgeable, better than high-priced restaurants. My favorite place to eat."

"I've been to Iron Hill before, but never the Wilmington location. I have to say, I was impressed! Thank you so much for the great food and even better service! As a waitress myself, I expect a lot out of the waitstaff when I'm out, and our server was great. After dinner we went to the bar for drinks and the bartenders were equally awesome! The bar area was busy, but our drinks were always full and we were never waiting around to get the bartender's attention."

"A little loud at times, but we weren't rushed through our meal, which is nice. We meet here as a halfway point to have dinner with friends from Philadelphia (we're from Baltimore). The desserts are always yummy. My seafood pot pie could have been a little warmer-- I think our server had too many tables because she brought out half the meal about 10 minutes before the other half. My shrimp was not terribly flavorful, but otherwise the meal was great."

"Our experience was stellar! We have season tickets to the Del Theatre and usually go to"another" pub closer to the theatre. Now, we will stop at Iron Hill instead.
