A testament to the Bay Area's local bounty, Radius sources its ingredients from within a 100-mile radius of its SoMa neighborhood digs. This duo of casual cafe and full-service restaurant make an ideal lunch stop, drink haven, or destination dinner venue.
"I have no idea if anyone knows about htis place, and it is in a random spot without much press as far as I know. It is absolutely worth a try. The service we had was really great, she was knowledgable about the menu and very helpful. Food was beautiful and delicious. I can't say enough about how surprised I was that I'd never heard of this place. Try the chicken, it was delicoius. But basically everything we had was very good. I'll go back. I don't usually write reviews that just rave, but this place deserves it."

"We found the food to be rather overpriced and not extremely tasty. Our server was not very friendly or engaging, but the staff overall was attentive. The noise level was quite high, as the place appeared to be good for larger group get togethers"

"I've passed this place many times without considering it, but this time it was a convenient location to meet a good friend for dinner. There is a nice ambiance, but it gets VERY LOUD with only half the restaurant filled. Carrying on a conversation is difficult. The lamb shoulder was cooked to perfection, and the pork chop was good but not notable. The wine list is decent with extremely reasonable full bottle prices. Both of us would definitely eat at Radius again, but either earlier or later to avoid the roar of the crowd. ;-)"

"Had the fried chicken which was served over Brussels Sprouts with kabocha squash and and ham hock mince. First was the carrot soup and finished with the lemon tart. We started with a few other pieces - including the oysters and the pea and carrot salad - which really bore out the local flavors. Everything was wonderfully flavored with just the right amount of uniqueness to each dish. The wine list was good, wish there were cocktails! Our second bottle was a Pleiades by Sean Thackery, a wine we have frequently - it had an off sulfur smell which fortunately dissipated after 15 minutes. Would definitely return. The prix fixe menu was an good value at $40."

"We haven't been in a while and thought we would go back. We started 2 glasses of Roederer Brut along with our sardines and pork rillets for appetizers. We followed those with the Lamb Shoulder and the Beef Bavette. The food was OK, not special. Our server (Fred?) was very nice and very French, which meant the service from his side was perfect - cordial, informed, not rushed. But he didn't deliver any of the food, it came and kind of got plopped on the table by some rushed person, and after eating the plates were pulled away by an equally rushed busser. Bill before tip was $177 - not crazy, but we expect better at that price."

"Exceeded all expectations! Comfortable, airy space, charming service, ice cold beer, and an A+ menu from first course to last. I'll definitely be coming back again and again. There are many nice Cal cuisine restaurants in SF, but Radius stands out for at least these dishes:
-bone marrow. One of the most flavorful, generous portions I've seen in SF -pork chop. So tender, I wonder if it was sous vide? It was so big we had half left over, and it was still delicious the next day. -lemon tart. WOW! Right up there with Tartine's lemon tart (maybe even superior?) Tart, smooth, and the perfect finish to a very satisfying(and very big!) dinner."

"The front room was far too noisy to have any conversation. We measures it and it was a constant 85-95 db. Although the food was great, would not be thrilled to go again because of the high noise levels."

"The menu was original, and the portions were large, but the food was all very salty, including the dessert. Wait staff was pleasant but not very attentive. We waited way too long between courses and for the check."

"I liked the concept of locally sourced food and was happy I tried this place. The food was excellent. I had the pork chops which were flavorful and cooked just right. Portions were pretty hardy so unfortunately, I wasn't able to try their dessert. I would come here again. Service was friendly as well."

"Valentine's day. They kind of rushed us. The lights were brighter than they used to be, a bit too bright to be honest. The food is tremendously, fabulously delicious. Innovative menu and good for folks with food allergies. Will definitely go back."

"We had a fantastic meal here - delicious and fresh Oysters, the mushroom flatbread, rainbow trout and garlic broccolini. The trout was perfect. We had asked for the flatbread to come before the trout but they mistakenly brought it at the same time. We weren't fussed about it, but they gave us the flatbread for free anyway. Incredible customer service. We followed up with the dark chocolate cake, which was probably the weakest piece (just wasn't very rich). We also had a pinot that our server recommended which was a perfect choice. I would definitely come back here. We love their commitment to sustainability as well."

"Locally sourced food. Very good, with decent veggie options. The vanilla milkshake with olive oil was a nice dessert surprise! Some fun bars nearby too for post dinner drinks."

"The food was superb – I had the fried chicken which seemed to be brined and had some delicious glaze, and my fiancee had trout, which she also thought was excellent. The service was quick, friendly and knowledgeable - recommended some fantastic wines. I'll definitely go again."

"excellent food -- winter roots pot pie, which wasn't like any pot pie I've known, but excellent nonetheless, and a most incredibly excellent lemon curd tart -- and attentive but not overbearing service. This place was the tops."
