"Food here was great - better than I expected. The fish/seafood tacos were delicious, sourdough tortillas a yummy surprise. Our waiter was awesome - funny, personable, accommodating...that is, until we asked him to split the check. It was like a veil of ice dropped over the table. There were three of us, and the menu said they could split it for up to six, so I'm not sure why he was so upset. And if it had really been that tough, he could have politely said no. Instead he got very brusque and unpleasant. Weird...still overall, I'd recommend the place."

"We were just in town a few days on vacation. We had a fun dinner and the place has a beautiful view. The mussles were great as was my dinner. Everything did come out pretty quickly so there's wasn't much time between appetizers and dinner but we were looking to get moving so it wasn't a problem for us."

"Our steaks were cooked perfectly. The bread is , of course, wonderful crusty sourdough baked downstairs. You can watch the process through the window or book a tour. The bakers made little loaves shaped like animals and gave them to children on the tour. We expected a tourist-trap with meh food. We were pleasantly surprised. Eat in the dining room upstairs!"

"My husband and I took a trip up to San Francisco recently and made reservations at Boudin. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and the service was wonderful. The sourdough bread was amazing, as was to be expected, but my husband was disappointed by the clam chowder. He did, however, really enjoy the Sauvignon Blanc that our waiter suggested. It is a bit on the pricey side but definitely worth a visit."

"This was my second time visiting Bistro Boudin and I came back to try something new. I ordered the Sourdough Gnocchi al pesto with Lobster. Unfortunately, i had a hard time finding the lobster? The pieces were so small that i almost complained but thankfully the French Onion soup was filling. The soup was packed with rich flavors and would have loved to get a seconds. My boyfriend ordered the New York Strip and it was cooked perfect and just the right size. I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu. The 4 star service was for the gentleman at the front desk that checked me in. When I arrived the reservation didn't show on his computer but he looked at my android to verify."

"The clam chowder was EXCELLENT! A must have!! While it was dinner time - I really wanted to try the Chocolate Lava Cake so I had the sour dough turkey club. It was real turkey chunks - no deli turkey!
I had white wine - it was good - my partner had red and he commented it was great.
He had the trio fish tacos - he said the shrimp taco was the best!
Chocolate lava cake was good - had a strawberry after taste - weird. No chocolate oozing out of the middle so kinda of a let down.
Brandt was our server and rused through our first course - then tried to deliver our entrees too quick - then he ran the dishes twice before finally letting us alone.
Once we got our entrees it was great.
A must try - avoid Brandt!"

"The food was great. However, signs are not clear/ apparent as to where the restaurant is located. There are seats outside on the patio and in the store. We spotted a few signs that says start here with buckets of the menu and so we went to stand beside it thinking that was the line up. The staff stood by the doors holding the menus glanced over several times but did not acknowledge us or the people lined up behind me. After asking, we found that the restaurant was located upstairs with the museum. The server that took our order wasn't really paying much attention and had me repeat almost everything 2-3 times. I gave her a small tip but come to think of it, I don't think she even deserve that."

"Bistro Boudin is a favorite that we visit every time we are in town. The food is amazingly good and is on par with 5 star, upscale restaurants! The Calamari is made fresh, filled with flavor and is not greasy or oily at all! The clam chowder bread bowl is unrivaled and is tastier than any we have tried. The service is amazingly fast and friendly regardless of how busy they get (we were there for Memorial Day Weekend!). To top of the great food and service, they have some of the best views in the city where you can have a nice lunch or dinner while watching the boats, sea life and even Alcatraz Island!"

"Bistro Boudin is a nice change of pace for restaurants along Fisherman's Wharf with Bay views - it is clean, new and quiet. Plus the food very good and is varied (seafood and beef) the prices are reasonable, the service is personal, very nice ambiance. Highly recommended. It is not Gary Danko's but much better than Kulettos for price, service and quality. Don't let the downstairs café with its crowds and bustle put you off - upstairs is an oasis along the Wharf."

"This restaurant shows off many of reasons that make San Francisco special: creative dishes that use local ingredients, an ambience that recalls the gold rush era, and a bay view. Some of my favorite items on the menu are: smoked salmon & bacon club, sourdough pizza, basil gimlet, fresh oysters, and a generous crab feast. The Caesar salad is perfect and the fries are very tasty even when cooled and and taken home as leftovers. And, of course, Boudin's sourdough bread (my favorite) is served in generous quantities. This restaurant is my reason to brave the crowds at Fisherman's Wharf."

"We went with our 10 and 8 year old children, who don't eat like typical kids, but still like to see familiar dishes. Everything we had was DELICIOUS! The goat cheese, roasted tomato and pesto appetizer was SO good. I would definitely recommend this as a nice night out, with great food, beautiful views of the waterfront and good service."

"Dining at the Bistro Boudin was great! We are back at home and my husband is still talking about the crab soup bowl. I love the clam chowder soup bowl and the smell of fresh bread being baked below definitely helps the ambiance."

"This was the only Fisherman's Wharf restaurant in which we dined while in San Francisco. For us it was perfect for our family of four. While not a window we still had an outstanding view of the harbor and Alcatraz. Fish and pizza where the choices amongst our party and no one was disappointed. Both fish dishes were well prepared and flavorful. The kids enjoyed their pizza. Service was attentive. Most notable was the crème brulée. Having lived in France 3 years we found it amongst the best brulée we've tried."

"My family enjoyed a late rainy Easter lunch. The chioppino, and crab and shrip pizza were tasty. Risotto needed a do over, and second attempt was greasy. Bunny shaped bread for kids was a great hit. For some reason they were out of sugar for tables, even though we could see stacks of sugar in factory. Go figure. Creme brulee weas tthe hit of the day."

"This restaurant is great. Outside you can see bakers making bread and when you walk upstairs into the restaurant you can feel their unique ambiance. Food was good with big portions. The service was also wonderful. We had a booth seat by the window and it was quiet and we felt secluded. There was the view of Pier 43 and the USS Pampanito. I would come here again."

"This is a wonderful restaurant. I had a 7:30 res on a Saturday night and was seated by 7:40 (and it was busy). Restaurant has great views of the wharf. Service was excellent. Not overbearing, but friendly and stealthy...she was asking if I needed a fresh drink before I realized I did and seem to appear just when I wanted her to. The food was wonderful. This is the second time I've been here and both times I've ordered the fried calamari appie, LOVE it! Everything we ordered was excellent. Cooked beautifully and was fresh and delicious."
