"Great service and the Price Fix Lunch special is perfect. Salad was very good, the flat iron steak slightly overcooked but flavorful, if dessert is a rare treat then have it here as all are made in this kitchen- I'm glad the waiter told us or we wouldn't not have ordered the fantastic brownie sundae with toasted marshmallow cream on top. Its been a Dallas institution for dinner for years but try the lunch."

"We're Christians, and were very excited to be in Dallas for the weekend--especially so we could visit the iconic First Baptist Dallas church. The first sentence out of our waiter's mouth (unprompted, I might add..) was to take a stab at First Dallas so as to explain why the restaurant was underground. Neither of us drink alcohol, and though we don't mind that the restaurant serves it--we were a bit taken aback that our waiter would insult a church just to answer a question that we didn't even ask."

"The location is hidden which I like. As soon as you arrive, they will valet your car for free and hand you a remote controller to push the button when you are ready to leave..how cool is that?? You take the elevator down and can see the patio area with the waterfall. We had a 8:30 dinner and it was perfect outside so we chose to eat outside. I scored big points there with the romatic setting; low dim lighting over the waterfall and piano background from inside. The steaks were cooked perfect. The sides are extremely large and I suggest sharing a side order. The service was great however our waitress kept checking on us, bad when its a first date. We felt a bit rushed but that could have been us. Overall, great food and service! A must try!"

"Lovely fixed menu and food. Very accommodating to my two year old. Apparently massively understaffed, because we spent more time waiting during the 3 courses than actually eating. This was doubly disappointing as I had to leave a credit card no. AND confirm reservations by phone, so the head count was set. Call me a snob, but I expect good service at a high end restaurant."

"We had my brother & his wife in from out of town and took them to Dakota's. All 4 of us really enjoyed it. The steaks were cooked to perfection. I'm not a big steak person but really liked mine a lot. My brother had salmon and said he liked it a lot. The outdoor patio is so unusual and inviting that we lingered over our drinks just because we were enjoying it so much. There service was impeccable and very knowledgeable about the menu & wine. We have been to Dakota's many times and always have a wonderful time."

"Not only did the waiter mess up 2 of the 9 orders, and those people had to sit at the table while the rest of us ate, they also didn't even bring the side dishes that were for the ENTIRE table until AFTER we were all done eating. What's the point? The waiter said "I'll take care of the sides for you" but he didn't comp us at all. For as large of a party as we were, it's not like we only spent $30 and you would think that they would have gone out of their way to make things right considering how many things they messed up on for the orders. Doubtful I'll be back considering the service."

"We went to Dakota's to celebrate our anniversary. Our waiter, Ant, was fun and energetic. The food was good but nothing special. The staff made us feel welcome and they were all very nice and helpful. The manager brought us a card from the staff and we received free dessert. "My wife and I both take each other out for a nice birthday dinner each year. Always a new place. For this particular restaurant, I had higher expectations with the food quality. IMHO; food was very average, in fact of all the places I have been to in the DFW area over the past 7 years, its on the bottom of the list with respect to quality.

"This is one of our favorite restaurants. We went to Dakota's last for our anniversary, and we weren't disappointed. We sat outside on their beautiful patio with a waterfall. We had the raw oyster appetizer which is served with 3 different sauces. My husband had a ribeye and I had lamb. Both were done to perfection. We had cauliflower mashers and broccoli for our sides which were excellent. They treated us to banana creme brûlée. I highly recommend his restaurant."

"First time to Dakota's and mainly went there because of already great reviews. They deserve all of them. The staff could not have been more accommodating and polite, very clearly service oriented. The outside patio is great - very nice water feature - but we had a table indoors and it was super too. Live pianist adds to ambiance. Food quality and preparation absolutely top notch. We had a party of 5, everyone enjoyed immensely. This will be a regular stop on my trips to Dallas from here on out. I don't hand out 5 stars very often, but this was a great place. Highly recommended!!"

"My wife and I celebrated our 15th anniversary here. The staff was absolutely AWESOME!! Just about everyone on staff at some point during dinner wished us a Happy Anniversary. They were never intrusive but did it in the normal service that wait staff would provide. The manager came over and gave us a card that the whole staff had signed. The food was spectacular. We've been dining at Dakota's since before we were married and it will continue to be one of our favorite places to go. They've been doing it for 29 years and they do it well!"

"Unfortunately, our experience was not as great as it has been in the past. Our service was well below par. We waited almost 30 minutes to be served our drinks after our order had been taken. However, sitting on the patio for brunch was nice since the weather was pleasant."

"Small, upscale, but cozy. Small cozy bar area just off main dining area. Below street location, but glass patio doors look out onto small open below street courtyard dining area. OK wine list, several by glass, some half-bottles. Outstanding welcoming service, professional but not stuffy. Primarily a steak house, but other interesting items. Surprisingly, one of the best crab cakes I have had. I would go back."

"Dakota's is not usually open on Sundays but they were on Easter. We went to the 9:15 AM Easter Service at First Baptist Dallas and then walked underground to Dakotas. The food was wonderful and the service even better. Best trained servers I have ever seen. Don't at the table for two behind the post. It was quiet, but very crowded for even two. We wished we had asked to be moved to a four top table. I am sure they would have moved us but our reservation was for two, so we did not ask.
The food was delicious and arranged beautifully on the plate. The amount was perfect, not too big and not too small. It was my wife's first time to eat there. We want to go back for a steak sometime. This was a special Easter Brunch, but served at the tabl"

"Went there for Easter brunch. Staff and waiter were very pleasant, but food was only mediocre and restaurant was LOUD. We had seven at the table, and despite shouting across the table we still weren't able to hear each other very well. I used to go there years ago, and I wish the restaurant well. I hope they do something to improve the food and soften the noise, but I won't be going back anytime soon."

"Unfamiliar with the location, The Dakota was difficult to find but once we did, we were very impressed. Valet parking was very easy and the elevator was easily accessible. The hostess was friendly and seated us immediately but too close to the piano. Our server was excellent and went over each item on the menu since this was our first visit. He made recommendations and was quick to answer questions. Food was served quickly. I would recommend the crab cakes..delicious! The rib eyes and filets were wonderful and we tried sides of green beans, scalloped potatoes, and mac and cheese...portions were large. Would recommend the strawberry creme brulee for dessert. Except for having to move due to the loud piano, would recommend."

"Everything was fabulous! We felt neglected by our waiter. He recommended a $375 bottle of wine and when we suggested we'd prefer something under $100 we felt that he 'wrote us off'. He was never rude, but we just felt that he had moved onto taking care of others rather than us!
