"What ruined our evening was the slow service. The food was nothing special. The restaurant wasn't that busy but everyone was placed in one section so it was very noisy. We had to shout at our table. We were there two hours. Many tables that were occupied prior to our arrival were still occupied when we left so it felt like a local hangout rather than fine dining. People were dressed in flip flops and shorts, certainly not dressy at all. Some of the items we ordered never arrived and we weren't charged. We would not return but go to The Keg instead which has similar food but better atmosphere and service."

"Dined at 6pm, food was very slow, one order came incomplete.
The food was average and over priced, not competitive.
We are foodies, and are accustom to dining in Toronto where there are lots of little gems that are competitively priced and you walk out raving about the food.
Server was very nice it was her first night she said.
Wine list was very nice selection, desserts and coffee where quite good.
I guess for Newmarket where the dining options are limited (mostly eateries) it would be considered good."

"I liked that it was not noisy. Girl at the entrance greeted us with a smile and the waitress was informative and quick to serve.
Food was fantastic, best calamari I have ever tasted. Soup was delicious as was the swordfish. I was a little disappointed when they did not bring a Birthday dessert for my husband...but maybe that is because I booked it online?"

"Only negative thing I can say is the perhaps portion size for men with hearty appetites. Though I felt it was more then enough food for myself, my husbands face was priceless when both his salad and main entree were placed in front of him. But when we asked for an extra serving of vegetables for him, they were more then happy to bring him more!"

"The only thing we were disappointed with was how long it took us to finally try this restaurant. Great food, nice touch with the kid friendly appetizer (on the house) and lots of great choices on the menu. We will be back for sure."

"IT was our 25th wedding anniversary and, although they did not know, the restaurant made it a superb event. The food was excellent, especially the shrimp taco appetizer. The mixed green salad was superb and my main, sirloin cap steak with an optional lobster tail was excellent. Even better, I got two lobster tails as the kitchen thought they were small. My wife benefited from their largesse. Dessert, a shared warm chocolate pudding cake, was the perfect ending. We have found a new favourite restaurant! Having recently dined at Canoe, the Edward Street Bistro was much better, for half the money."

"From the time we arrived, 5 mins earlier than our reservation, to the time we were finished, the service was excellent. We were greeted promptly and courteously and shown to our table. Our wait staff were very knowledgeable and professional. He knew the daily specials and made our dining experience more enjoyable. The food was served in a timely manner without feeling rushed. There were a very nice selection of wines to choose from with varying price points. The food was outstanding both in presentation and flavour.

"Excellent service at the Edward Street Bistro. The appetizers we had were excellent too, Fish Tacos & Beef Carpaccio. My wife's "grain feed PEI" steak was extremely tough and but flavoured nicely - not tough due to cooking but due to the meat itself. I had the Sea Bass which was very tasty.
This place is worth a try to anybody looking for a good dinner, in a relatively relaxed atmosphere."

"Could there really be great gourmet food in Aurora? Having been to myriad places in downtown Toronto over the years my wife and I were excited at the prospect and open-minded. Unfortunately, food-wise it was disappointing, with a special foie gras app being about 5 grams in size, not the expected slice. Lamb tasted just a bit stale or old, and shockingly my wife left some on her plate, which I've never seen before.
Service was ho-hum too with a waiter who seemed to have an attitude problem.
We probably wouldn't go back unless we lived in Aurora, which we don't."

"It is quite a find. The only place we have had food comparable to this has been in downtown Toronto. My sister in law and I could not choose between two entrees(the same two for both of us) Immediately our waiter offered that the chef woild be more tha happy to split the two entrees so we could have some of each. What a great idea. Both plates were beaurifully presented and the food was absolutely wonderful."

"My husband and I wanted to come to Edward Street Bistro for our date night and try their Prime Rib Burger. Well stop the presses, it was the best handburger I have tasted in a long time.
