"It's hard to describe the unique way MSCM prepares the food. The taste and presentation are both impressive and don't compare with most suburban restaurants. The cheese, wine and chocolate selections in the market area of the store are a bonus. This is one of my favorite places to go - the menu changes (and there's good and bad points to that --- a favorite is gone, but forced me to select something else that was just as impressive and tasty!). The service was a bit slow this time around, but we were with friends and truly had time to enjoy our drinks, dinner and conversation without feeling rushed in the least. Our table was probably the least desirable, but still wasn't "bad", just lacked a bit of te ambience had we been further back."

"There have been some changes, none for the better. Gluten-free options had been more plentiful previously, now, after a 20 minute absence by the server to find out what could be prepared GF the number of entrees was...one. Still have tasty GF crackers that arrived 30 min later with cheese flights. An hour and three quarters after arriving, entrees arrive. We were sitting close to the kitchen so could see how little food was being turned out and hear the confused conversations. The manager was apologetic and cooperated in deducting some of the costs, but it remains a disappointing experience. Not at all kid friendly either.
Cheeses were tasty, the bruised collard greens interesting. Asparagus risotto was surprisingly bland."

"The menu is limited and they run out of two options by 6:30pm on a Friday night. The menu is original but the actual food did not impress me as much. You have to have a very specific taste in order to love this place. Craft beer options are good but limited."

"All in all, we had a fantastic time at Marion Street. We drank a lot of great beer and ate 3 flights of cheese along with a smattering of interesting snacks. The food was creatively presented, thoughtful, and truly delicious. The green, locally sourced angle is icing on the cake. Oh, which brings me to dessert. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed dessert out so much. The portions were large, the flavors super interesting, and just all around delicous. Our service was a little spotty. We'd lose the server from time to time, but the food came out quickly, and we didn't mind having time to chat between flights. You should go. We're absolutely coming back!"

"This was our 4th visit to the Marion Street Cheese Market. Unlike our last visits, we stuck to cheese, appetizers and booze. Not to say that I don't like the courses, but there is enough cheese and enough appetizers to keep you busy (and full) for some time. Speaking of which, the cheese we had, and the beer/wine were all superb. The wait staff was very friendly, though hovering maybe a little too much (just a little, he was mostly great). The waiter, helpers and bartender were all very knowledgeable and their suggestions for cheese and wine were spot on. We'll definitely keep coming back. Might even buy something from the store, which seems to run a brisk business too."

"This is a marvelous place in Oak Park, with the bistro on one side and cheese market on the other. You walk in through the store and you are met with the great smell of many cheeses. It makes it feel very inviting and cozy. The bistro section is just to the side. It's tastefully decorated, but without over-focus on ambiance that we often find in the city's restaurant row. The focus here is food and wine, both done with a great success. The times we've been there we started with delicious cheese and meat flights and none of the entrees disappointed. We travel to Oak Park regularly and I think this is going to become our dinner destination when there, although this place is worthy of a special trip."

"You can always expect interesting and delicious food here. From the caramelized onion aioli on the Indy Pork sandwich to the terrific $4 specialty draft beers ($4 on Tuesdays!) everything is yummy! Lunch is a real treat in the comfortable room and you're never rushed. Good idea to make reservations as it's popular with locals and tourists."

"Marion Street is both a full-service cheese shop and moderately stocked wine seller. The retail part of the store also has tastings and treats that make it worth dropping by for a quick wine-and-cheese (and baguette!) purchase.
The restaurant is in the back, and we had wonderful service on a fairly busy Friday night. When I misordered my wine, the waitstaff and bar personnel took it in stride and made good. The food was excellent, above all the carefully prepared and presented salad. In all, a great, moderately paced bistro-esque atmosphere. Definitely recommended."

The prices weren't cheap, but I certainly wouldn't consider this place to be expensive either. I cannot wait to go back for lunch. The trek to Oak Park from Andersonville was well worth it."

"This restaurant has come a long way since the time it opened. The menu is so thoughtful and the level of service has improved immensely. "They served the best pork chop I have ever had. The marinade was delicious. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked. "We've dined at the Marion Street Cheese Market several times and it's becoming one of our favorite local places. As the name implies, there is a "market" with a great variety of domestic and imported cheeses and meats. However, they also have a very nice wine shop and a restaurant that has improved with each visit. It's great just for drinks at the bar or for a nice dinner for 2, 4 or 6. We always enjoy the cheese & wine flights."

"I went for a very late lunch by myself and received excellent food and outstanding service. Everyone was very nice to me. I enjoyed reading my book and talking to the staff.
