"I'm not sure if they were understaffed on this day, but we were there for two hours --- most of those two hours, just sitting and waiting for service, drinks or food to arrive. In addition, they sat three groups (that each had dogs) all near each other (which also happened to be right near us as well). The smaller dog at one table began aggressively barking at the larger dog at the table beside them. They may want to reconsider the whole "dogs while dining" idea. Not everyone wants to eat lunch at the dog-park. I love dogs, but mine stay at home."

"SIracha glazed wings and tuna tataki salad are awesome. Have been dining at THO for many years now and always appreciated the wine tastes on menu and ability to create your own flights. This has now been replaced with 1/2 glass minimum purchase. So no longer top of my list for Paso."

"II have wanted to try this restaurant since so msny people have recommended it. They were right. So many flavors and tastes. The lentil bean tacos were a wonderful appetizer. Have you ever tasted candied jalapenos? I had shrimp on a skewer and my husband had the best vegetable burger he has ever tasted. You will not be disappointed!"

"THO is by far the most unique restaurant I have ever been too. The menu is always changing and the combinations they put together are stellar. You can eat outside year around, the Castillian BBQ ROCKS and there are so many things you can order from it. This is my favorite place in Paso we love bringing our guests that come into town to this place as it is definitely the best place in town!"

", we sat in the outside atrium area. They had two tower gardens in corner growing tomatoes and basil. Very organic and unique restaurant. We enjoyed a kale salad, grilled shrimp skewer salad with zucchini pasta and peaches. The raw kale salad was delicious and a perfect blend of good raw kale and spicy, delicious dressing. The shrimp and peaches salad will inspire us to create a similar dish at home.
We also split a margheritta pizza. The pizzas are the creation of a man who moved from Sicily two years ago. The menu offers unique and always changing items. However, we were pleased with how good the pizzas were. We loved the Margherita pizza.
Our favorite wine was La Grand Cote rose, perfect food wine and perfect for the spring."

"Lovely setting, wonderfully fresh flavors and nice, friendly service. The menu is small and seasonal and may not always have something for everyone (like kids), but we shared three delicious dishes and fought each other to scrape each plate clean. Portions were very generous. It was a splurge for us price- wise, but you get what you pay for here."

"We were disappointed, as this place gets lots of great reviews in the press and by word of mouth. Service was slow and lackadaisical, and the food was fine but nothing to write home about. Kale salad was less good than any number I have eaten in the recent past (in Paso and elsewhere); the pizza crust (Pizza is clearly a specialty.) was soft and uninteresting; and the duck was tough. On the plus side, they were accommodating to our almost-vegan friend in modifying dishes."

"On a recent wine weekend, we returned to THO for our third visit and we were not disappointed. We were even seated early for our reservation. The food was creatively prepared and beautifully presented and the flavor combinations outstanding. We all loved our appetizers and entrees. A hit was the lentil taco appetizer. For our group of four, the order was modified from three (standard) to four. The vegetarian in the group was also accomodated without a fuss. The ingredients being locally sourced and organic are a bonus and add to the appeal. The wine recommendation was outstanding and the wine label was a new discovery. The patio seating was very comfortable. I look forward to another visit next time we travel to the area."

"My husband and I had reservations for our anniversary dinner this past weekend. We had intended to get entrees (they looked delicious) but everything on the menu looked so flavorful we wanted to try more items. The Ahi Appetizer, Lentil Tacos, and Mediterranean Pizza were all fantastic! I would highly recommend this restaurant."

"Interesting philosophy. We arrived early; few diners were seated. We were lead to the worse table in a dark empty room, while the more desirable area had multiple numbers of empty tables. After refusing the first table, we were seated in the main room, but still at a table where people could enter from an adjoining business. Maybe the manager ( or owner) should observe the employees. They may be less than pleasantly surprised!"

"We ate here twice. The first time was good, and encouraged us to go again. I had a tabbouleh salad and a pizza. The second time, the entire experience was quite poor. I had a beet salad "with citrus fruit and strawberries". It should have been called a citrus salad garnished with beets! And beets go much better with goat cheese. My main course was a short rib--cooked thoroughly, but dry and stringy and guess what--more citrus fruits. In fact, the short rib was drowning in citrus fruits. The menu did indicate the presence of citrus fruits for both dishes, but the quantity heaped on just eliminated any other taste! Not everything tastes better with citrus fruits!"

"Eating at Thomas Hill Organics is one of our favorite things in Paso Robles (along with certain wineries and a bike ride through the country side). Each time the dishes have been delicious -- from the fire-baked pizza for a starter to the desserts. The entrees reflect some of the most creative combinations of ingredients we have ever seen. Combinations that I would have never dreamed of result in beautiful layers of complex flavors. Sometimes I wonder if I could get away with licking my plate to ensure no drop is lost. Thomas Hill Organics is a real gem in the Central Coast area."

"Here's a restaurant where a chef with a vivid imagination creates eye-candy presentations with unique flavor combinations, bok choy on black rice with duck and sour cherries topped with, of all things, a fried egg, expertly prepared with just the right amount of cooking to add its lovely yolk to an already delicious sauce. A quinoa salad with bananas? Who would have thunk it. All this, along with delightful, personable and knowledgeable service makes Thomas Hill a great romantic spot to celebrate a loving anniversary. We had our 43rd on the patio."

"This was our third visit to Thomas Hill - obviously the prior two were so good that we came back. However, Friday's dinner simply didn't work - both the wait staff and kitchen seemed out of synch. Delays were the order of the evening: It was ~1/2 hour before our drink order came and 1/2 more before our salads arrived. It wasn't late - our reservation was for 7:30. Servers and the hostess seemed preoccupied with rearranging tables rather than serving us.
We were told they were out of the clams used as a part of the scallop dish we ordered, but they said it'd be fine. Later the waitress came back, saying they'd run out of scallops too, but were substituting halibut... The dish simply didn't work. It was wet and too spicy."

"We stop in Paso Robles for the night every time we make the Southern California trip just to eat at Thomas Hill organics. The chef is creative and seems to just know how to combine foods for a perfect marriage....Things one wouldn't think would go together that are fabulous. "Just a great meal with exceptionsal service from Renee. It's a funky location around a corner (follow the signs). The food is very very good. Exceptional raw black kale salad and duck breast was perfectly rare (as ordered) with lovely strawberry salad. Cocoa nibs were an incrdible touch. The margherita pizza was good, but the crust could have been crispier on the bottom. However, the sauce was excellent. Renee made excellent wine pairing selections and suggested to us some of her favorite wineries."

"The restaurant seems to be having difficulty keeping up with its popularity. Service was only fair during our last visit, which was a significant change from previous experiences. The server forgot food items, didn't return or take orders in a timely manner, and was generally out of sorts. "The food was excellent and they were able to accomodate my diet with some food restrictions. The waitress was knowledgable about the menu items I could eat. My only complaint is that the service is a slow. In addition, the waitress brought the wrong salad (which was my main course) and so my companion had to start eating alone while I waited about 7 minutes for my meal to be served."

"We were a few minutes late and the hostess first told us we did not have a reservation, then when pressed said we were late and she just gave our table away. She was able to find another table (the entire inside was empty except for us and one other table) but was rude to us even though we were apologetic and polite to her. The waitress seemed to carry on with acting like Thomas Hill Organics in and of itself was good enough to get customers and she did not have to add to it in any way. The food was okay, we ordered coffee with milk after dinner and were told there was no milk. If an organic restaurant runs out of milk on a Saturday evening they should go to the store and get some!"

"Went there last wk with my besties as we were in town for wknd getaway. This was recommended by the proprietors of our B&B, and we liked the reviews on TripAdvisor and Open Table.
Started with a yummy bottle of wine. The waitress listened to our taste and recommended a bottle, which we enjoyed. Ordered the burrata cheese appetizer - it was awesome. We asked for more flat bread to scoop it up with. She told us she'd have to charge us extra, (really?) and then needed reminding to bring it, which she finally did after she brought our entrees. No biggie, we still managed to eat all the cheese and most of the bread.
I had the sea bass, my friends had one of the pizzas, the salads (one was kale, other was?) All was really good!"

"This was a refreshing and really unique dining experience. Their flavor combinations were really interesting, which made it very exciting. Everything was fresh and delicious. Wendy was a great server, knowledgable about all of the dishes as well as their local wine offerings. We had several interesting dishes: Pizza with short rib and roasted potatoes, yum! Seared ahi - delish! Spinach and quinoa salad, very unique flavors. But our favorite was the chicken wings confit with sirracha glaze - OMG! So amazing! Tender, juicy, sweet & spicy, fall off the bone delicious!!! I would definitely go back and highly recommend THO for any foodie who loves fresh fare."

"Absolutely fantastic. First time at Thomas Hill, and we were blown away. Food quality was outstanding. We had two young girls with us (under 13) and the menu was more than they could handle until they saw the pizza menu. They both had pizza and were talking it up 48 hours later. The chicken wing confit was really good, but the size of the wings were more like quail. I wished that they were bigger, or more of them. The black kale salad was excellent. My daughter kept reaching over the table for more. The lamb and sea bass were perfectly cooked. The wine list was extensive and all local. We had a 2007 Parish Cabernet that went well with the food. We passed on dessert. Cold Stone was up the street. We'll definitely go back."
