"If a server messes up an order, apologize and make some effort to make it right. Also, have them check on their tables regularly, especially as soon as the food is sent to the guests. Our server yesterday was MIA most of our visit. This was especially annoying because I was looking for him because my dish was not correct-or close. I asked the hostess to find him. When I got the bill, it was clear he ordered the wrong item. He didn't even try to discount the meal or offer a free dessert-nothing. A quick apology and replaced my food.
The food was great, however. I hope our server works on his customer service skills because Moxie is usually a great place to take clients & visitors. I hope my guests give it another try."

"We have been to Moxie many times and the service this time was unusually good instead of great. If this had been our first time, it may have been our last but do not get discouraged if there is a miss once in a while. The food is consistently of excellent quality although sometime the price is a bit high for what you get. Baked hot chocolate for dessert is always fantastic!"

"We had been frequent diners at Moxie over the years but had stopping going when the service and food seemed to do down hill. However, we were pleasantly surprised to see that the old Moxie is back. Great service and the filet with corn risotto was amazing. We were so happy with the meal that we finished it off with a mint pie that was light and delicious. Everyone at the table left satisfied and saying they would be putting Moxie back on their restaurant rotation."

"Been to Moxie too many times to count - most recent visit was Mother's Day brunch. Service was good (as usual) - the food however was just ok. Variety was subpar - quality was exceptable at best. Overpriced for what was offered.
I'll stick to going there for lunch, Pier W's brunch last year was far superior."

"The service was terrible. Waited over an hour to be served our entrees. Waitress never checked back to tell us what was going on or to bring more bread or refill a drink. Wine wasn't served until after entry arrived. Food was mediocre at best, overpriced at worst. And on too of this, they added a twenty percent gratuity! When I asked why, I was told because they usually aren't open Sunday.
If they keep this level of food quality and service as their standard, soon they won't be open at all. There are much better choices to spend your dining dollars!"

"We had an anniversary dinner and purposely scheduled it at an early time because Moxie gets noisy as it gets busier during regular Saturday night dinner hours. The food was excellent, with lots of delicious new and innovative things on the menu. The wine list was wonderful. The service was outstanding. We had a lovely, relaxed, perfect meal. Moxie is one of our favorite restaurants."

"Food was bland and dried out. My husband's risotto was chunky and both he and I found bones in our fish filets. We brought this to our server's attention and she responded "it happens", but noted that she would tell the kitchen. We were still hungry after lunch, but did not order dessert because we didn't want to spend anymore money at the restaurant. The overall experience was average for what I would expect from a large chain restaurant, but not for what has been described as one of the best restaurants in Cleveland. We would not return to this restaurant for another meal."

"I was far from impressed. With all of the hype, I did have high expectations. However, the service was horrible from the start and then our server could not get us out of there fast enough. She was ready to go and we were ready to stay and talk over drinks.
I got the B&E Chicken. When I order, the server had responded that was a good choice. I beg to differ. The most exciting part of the dish was the cauliflower. The fig mustard and celery root puree were bland and the chicken was, well...just your normal chicken.
Advice to Moxie - the veal appetizer you served was overpowered by the dressing on the lettuce and the taste of the veal was actually sour.
Never going back again. Overrated."

"Moxie has been a great restaurant since it opened. While not inexpensive, the food is always fresh and fantastic. The service is knowledgeable and attentive, but there are times when they do not make you feel welcome."

"Our dishes were delicious. I had the redfish special and my husband had the salmon. I do wish that they would focus on accurate instead of artistic descriptions as my husband's dish had a rather pungent dairy-based sauce on the potatoes that he wasn't expecting and didn't care for. Our dessert, the apple crisp with butterscotch ice cream, was amazing. My one complaint is the teeny-tiny portions. I am not a big eater, but I was still hungry after dinner. For $31 and $24 respectively, the portions could be a bit more substantial, I didn't feel as if we got our money's worth. We came away just under $100 for two dinners, one glass of wine and a shared dessert. Moxie is definitely for special occasions."
