AltaMare
ALTAMARE is the new restaurant by highly-acclaimed restaurateur Claudio Giordano and veteran chef Simon Stojanovic. The warm and inviting restaurant designed by Juan Carlos Arcila-Duque features an open kitchen, chef’s table, intimate bar and private dining room.
Simon Stojanovic, formally of Michael’s Genuine, puts a special spin on the menu featuring locally caught, pristine seafood, organic meats and house made pastas. As many menu items feature daily-caught fish, menu items are subject to change.
Altamare is located on the west end of Lincoln Road, just steps away from the new promenade and public plaza, perfect for an after-dinner stroll.

"We stumbled on AltaMare through some reviews online, and decided to take a chance on a restaurant nobody had recommended to us directly. The food was fantastic, the service was amazingly attentive without being stifling, and the whole experience was wonderful. We sat inside, only because it seemed a bit noisy on the street with cars buzzing by, but most of the people dining that night seemed to be outside and enjoying it. We will definitely come here again when we are back in town."

"We have been going to Altamare since it opened on Miami Beach. We always have an amazing meal and it is a wonderful ambience. The owner obviously takes great pride and joy in his restaurant. He is always there and always trying to make our dinner the most pleasurable experience."

"I discovered AltaMare a few years back so whenever I visit South Beach I always try to get a reservation and I have never been disappointment. We started off with the octopus, it was very good, not as moist as I would have like but again very good. I had actually had octopus at another place the night before which was extremely moist probably not as healthy as this version was. I had the bass which was excellent."

"That is the best we can say. The fish was good properly but there was a blending of the flavors of the ingredients. My pasta with crab was bland, I know there was garlic and crab in the dish, but nothing came together.

"Living in South Beach and dining out at least a couple times each week, we've tried a lot of restaurants. Altamare is one of just a few favorites. The contemporary american preparations don't overwelm the fresh ingredients. Service is attentive without being intrusive. And, it's handy to cinemas on Lincoln Road."

"Ate there because of good reviews.The octopus appetizer was overcooked and dry and the sardine appetizer was full of tiny bones.Main course of mackeral was good. The biggest problem were the little bugs that looked like gnats that were surrounding us..in 2 different glasses of wine and masses were on the vinegar bottle that we asked them to remove....we were eating inside.We didn't order dessert as we wanted to get away from the bugs.The server did take the wine off our bill. We are foodies and this was not a great experience."

"Had the raw sampler then the octopus appetizer with chorizo and farro as my main course. The octopus dish was ample as a main course, and was one of the best dishes I have had at Altamare - exceptional, so much so that I thought about it the next day and had to share details with my friends."
