"I have been going to The Catch since they opened on St. College 30+ years ago. Things went down hill before they moved to this new location. And now they are once again a home-run! I have been for dinner, lunch, happy hour and now, brunch. The food is delicious, the is service very good and the ambiance is warn and very energetic.
We were there last for Father's Day Brunch (which I usually avoid going out on holidays) and I must admit they were very busy, but also very organized and the food and champs flowed freely!"

"I'm a regular here - food is very good, ambiance is great, and service has always been good. Our waiter tended to 'disappear' at times - had to ask 3 times to get water re-filled. Had to ask twice to get leftovers boxed up. Couldn't locate him to ask for the check. I'm hoping that they were 'short-staffed' as it was a late lunch (around 1PM on a Friday)."

"We dined at The Catch prior to the Andrea Bocelli concert along with MANY others with the same game plan. The Catch handled the load beautifully and didn't miss a beat. The service was friendly and hospitable but with well-timed with minimal interruptions. The food was presented in mouthwatering fashion that did NOT dissappoint as the entire meal was fantastic in everyway....A truly delightful night from beginning to end! We found a new favorite restaurant and look forward to returning often!
**The ONLY criticism would be a somewhat loud table of 8 seated next to us making it difficult to talk to our friends at our table sometimes without leaning forard to hear. :)"

"The concert at Honda Center made for a VERY busy restaurant. It was handled very well by a courteous and friendly staff. The food was excellent as always. Four star experience !"

"The Catch is one of the only non-chain restaurants in the neighborhood, so it's a neighborhood gem - especially for lunch. The noise level is pretty high, but the food is tasty and the servers are friendly. The Master Louie salad is a masterpiece!"

"My girlfriend and I had a really wonderful experience at the Catch. We arrived around 7:30pm and promptly informed our server that we had tickets for the Grove at 9pm and wanted to be on time. Our server was very helpful and our food was delicious. My girlfriend's Chilean Sea Bass (on special) was particularly exquisite.

The beer and wine list were solid and not overwhelming. This is one of the few walkable upscale restaurants that is walking distance to the Grove and to Angel's Stadium and definitely worth checking out."

"We had the best dinner before our concert. We split the surf and turf and it was incredible!! My husband NEVER orders lobster but he did for me and loved it!! Can't wait to go back, great experience!!! Highly recommend!!!"

"We were in town for a concert and staying across the street close to the Honda Center and the Angels baseball stadium. We were there when a ball game was happening so the scene at The Catch was very energetic and the restaurant was packed. Large bar scene. Nice varied menu. We ate in the formal dining area but also had a drink first outside. The service was quick. Inside the restaurant the service was "good". The waiter screwed up our salad order so had to return one and then wait another 10 minutes to get it. The entrees were very good (both seafood). It kind of reminded us of a Mortons or Ruth Chris concept. Elegant interior, a la carte menu, pushing appetizers, desserts, more drinks. But it was fine. We'd return if in the same area."

"On Wenesday, May 15th my wife and I had a wonderful outdoor dining experience at "The Catch". We valeted our car since we were headed to the "Rolling Stones" Concert. Want to note that valet charge was only $6.00 and the walk to and from venue was easy and their was no hassel with traffic even with the Angeles having a game the same night.

The staff were very much in tune on how to best cater to our needs. The menu although having many items to choose from did have some items deleted that evening. I made sure to make reservations ahead of time and found that the restaurant got quite full shortly after we had arrived.

The area which we were seated was set up for reservation only and found that inside the restaurant was very loud."

"I decided to take my mom there for mother's day (non brunch). Though we had a reservation they make us wait 15-20 min. Not a big problem, people stay a little longer than expected. It was moderately busy when we got there, so I expected a slightly slower service time, but this was ridiculous. Our dishes came out cold, while I saw the waiters socializing with each other, dishes sat there on their serving trays. The dessert was ice cream flamed at the table. I ordered it before we were done eating and we were still waiting 15 min after for ice cream, at this time we were the only ones left in our section so i expected quicker service. We felt ignored the whole time. I wish i had more characters to write a thorough review."

"Service was good, but not for $30-90 plates. If you charge Mastro's or Morton's or Flemings' prices please use crystal not glass, and make sure there is not water drops inside my wine glass.
It showcases like a sports bar in loudness even in the restaurant side, but does not charge you like a sports bar.
Very disappointing on Mother's Day."

One note, when we were checking in with the hostess, I asked if they had a happy hour (it was 6pm). She said "not really".

"At first, it appears my Opentable reservation wasn't recorded as 'attended'. But, OpenTable soon fixed that issue. The food here is always excellent - for both lunch and dinner. The one thing about lunch is that the portions are huge. For most people, that would mean eat half of it and take the other half home. It would be nice if there was a 'lighter fare option'."

"I travel to Anaheim frequently on business and think of The Catch as my home away from home. Delicious steak and seafood, wonderful wait staff and a great sports bar (although I generally dine in their adjacent dining room). Being a tourist destination, Anaheim has a good number of national restaurant franchises; it's rare to find a locally-run establishment that offers a truly upscale, yet comfortable dining experience."

"First time here prior to going to a concert close by. Our reservation worked out great and we were seated right away. The service was a little spotty, The waiter gave us a rundown of the specials and gave us adequate time to decide, I had made a special request for some bernaise sauce on the side with my steak and after a short while our meals were delivered by another person from the wait staff and there was no sauce at all, so had to request it again and wait for it. The food was average, but adequate nothing stood out to me. Our waiter did not come back to check on us to make sure everything was ok, after the food was delivered, but came by only to see if we wanted dessert and dropped off the bill. Fine for pre-show quick meal."

"I came to the Catch quite excited as it had been recommended to me by a couple of friends. First and unlike JT Schmid's, parking is not free before Angels games and cost $10. Second, we decided to dine on the bar side and our waitress was argumentative when we asked for modifications to be made to our order. Due to immense volume before the game, she mentioned that no modifications could be made to orders. While there is a rationale to this approach, this kind of behavior cracks me up in any service oriented business and does little to motivate a customer to come back. We tried to order the nachos without sour cream and beans and that was not feasible. A similar scenario played out with the tacos. This place is impersonal and overrated."

"we love the Catch, I have been coming here for pre-game festivities since the early Rams days of the 1980's...of course, it was accross the street back then, but the vibrant energy, delectible eats and wonderful beer selection make this an Orange County icon a legendary hangout for games and concerts alike."

"Fantastic lunch menu. My co-worker had The Catch Cobb - she said it was the best salmon she has ever had. I had the tuna burger - which I have to say was the biggest and best tuna sandwich I have ever had. I plan on having dinner here the next time I am in town."

"I've eaten at The Catch on numerous occasions and enjoyed their fresh seafood entrees as well as their interesting twist on everyday staples. Their steaks are aged well and seasoned to perfection. Even their burgers are incredible. Excellent presentation, creative menu, outstanding service, INCREDIBLE desserts baked while you enjoy your meal. This time we joined them for Easter brunch. I was amazed at how much the staff still catered to our individual needs despite the amazing buffet. Numerous items were still available made to order, along with the entire children's menu. Great choice for a business meeting or family dinner. Also has a nice bar, suitable or drinks after work or an Angel's game."

"Every year for Hubby's birthday we search for a lobster tail dinner to compete with one he had in NYC 15 years ago. We've tried numerous OC restaurants and not until last night did we find it. The 16 oz Maine tail at The Catch was sweet and tender. I had their signature Sea Bass and it too was delicious. For his birthday they had a reserved table with his name on it and gave him a creme brûlée dessert. I ordered the chocolate soufflé which is my birthday dish. We will definitely be back so long as there are not events on at the neighboring venues. In fact we're planning on taking the kids to the lounge for an OMG - a huge burger on a 14 inch bun to be shared. And I can't wait to try another one of their delicious cocktail."

"The server needs to be retrained. Once he greeted us with "HOW ARE YOU TWO" we never saw him again. Justin did a poor job to say the least. The bus boy, in comparison, was great. We will never return to this venue again and probably will never use "Open Table" again if this is an example of their participating restaurants."

"Our group of 4 had dinner at The Catch before a show at The Grove. Fantastic location before a show or an Angels game; you can easily walk from the event parking to the restaurant, and then to your event. Service was great, food was OK. Our tab for 4 was $300, which I thought was pricey for what we got - one round of 4 cocktails, one lower-priced bottle of wine, one appetizer shared among 4 people, and entrees for each of us. No salads, no desserts, no extras. I think if this restaurant were in a different location, prices would have to be lowered quite a bit or they wouldn't make it. Other seafood restaurants we regularly go to are much better, but when dining before a show, location trumps all."

"The Catch always has great food and our waiter was very good. Ask to be seated away from the bar area though if you want a quiet romantic evening. THe one bad thing e noticed this time was a bus boy - a table sat then decided to leave after having touhed all the napkins - one even ended on the fllor and he jsut refolded and put back . . . not so good. Do believe this was a limited event though as they ar enormally very good about the fine dining."
