Located in beautiful downtown Palm Springs, Wang’s in the Desert’s concept is Pan Asian Cuisine combining different types of cooking influences including Sichuan, Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Thai and Korean. We use only the finest and freshest ingredients

"Our waiter was just plain BAD!!!! I sat and waited for my meal While 6 tables of 2 people or more ordered appetizers and entrée and were served and ate there meal and were gone. He did not even check to see if everything was OK Just BAD service."

"This was my third trip to Wang's and my last. The first visit the food was pretty good...the second it was just okay...and this trip not good at all. They have remodeled the dining room and it looks nice. Our apps were quite good but the entrees were flat with no character. My water glass was empty more than it was full...after we asked for a second round of cocktails we were not asked if we wanted more. Needless to say I was disappointed."

"Fun happy hour, very busy as usual on Friday night. The food is consistently good. Honey pepper beef is delicious, as is green curry. Service was a little slow this time, not sure if it was server or kitchen. Staff is always friendly and takes good care of us."

"If you want a quiet evening where you can hear your companion, go any night but Friday. Food is mostly pretty good, but some dishes come out too fast, suggesting they are sitting in trays in the kitchen."

"We always go to Wang's when in PS. The food is always good and service friendly and efficient. We often request favorite servers, this time we didn't. I don't remember his name, but def not up to usual standards. The staff is usually very personable, friendly....maybe our guy was just hving a hard night, but it was if he had no personality. I hate to say anything bad, but want people to know that if they have a bad night here it is def the exeption, go again!. We will be back soon!"

"We were there for Friday happy hour and dinner. We still wish Fri happy hour went to 8:00 for other friends driving from LA to join us. The Honey Pepper Beef, Green Curry Chicken, Shrimp and Chicken Duet and Kung Pao Chicken were all delicious. I appreciate going somewhere the food is consistently good and staff friendly. We always make Wang's a part of our PS weekend."

"The restaurant is too loud. They need to soften the sound. It was like eating in an Airport or Mall. We could barely hear ourselves when speaking to one another.
The servers are great. The food was prepared well.
We visit the bar on occasion, but will probably continue to go elsewhere for dinner.

"The service was good, not outstanding. My soft shelled crabs were incredible. First time at Wang's. 04/25 was a special event & probably more crowded than usual? The first thing I noticed was the concrete floor, which highlighted the laughter and loud talking throughout the restaurant. My date did not enjoy the dining experience as he felt it was too noisy. He couldn't hear me talking. As he didn't enjoy the experience- it kinda ruined the first date for me."

"The Kung pao chicken was all peppers and little chicken with a couple of peanuts. The service was poor and they served five of us our meals but never bothered to serve any food for our sixth party member. The waiter said it was coming out...it never did so I flagged down the manager and his response was " did you still want it?" Really?!?!"

"The Food at Wangs, when it arrives - is always tasty. We made the mistake of ordering appetizers and cocktails, which delayed and delayed our entrees arrival. There were 14 tables of people and we saw our waiter very few times -- i think he was embarresed that the food was taking so long. Didn't see any other waiters until much later, no one ever came to check on our food, to see if we needed more brown rice.
What's up with the green lights? Why? The dining room looks ghastly, people look ghastly and even with such a small amount of occupied tables the dining room is LOUD .. why?"

"I've been dining consistently at Wang's since they first opened some years ago. My past reviews have always been exceptional. Unfortunately, they don't live up to that same standard now. While I still enjoy going there, it just isn't the same. The food was always so exceptional and now it is just good. Service has declined somewhat both in the bars and the restaurant. Probably the worst part of the experience is the noise level in the restaurant. The last time I was there six months ago they promised that situation was being dealt with but nothing has been done and the noise is totally over the top. I do want to keep Wang's in my repertoire so I sincerely hope they read and heed."

"Been to Wang's a half dozen times since moving to Palm Springs last Fall and this recent experience will be our last. I have never been overwhelmed by either the food or the service, but we took out of town guests on this visit and I was most disappointed with our evening. The lowlights included a disappearing waiter, a noise level more suitable for an army mess hall, and food that was no better than what you'd get from Panda Express. Do yourself a favor and skip Wang's in PS. There are better options in the desert and PF Chang's in Rancho Mirage is one of them."

"We are a family with two teenage boys. We loved all our choices, one son said it was the best wonton soup, another said best vegetable fried rice ever. "Very sad to see the current state of Wangs. Used to be one of our favorites, but since the remodel, it seems that 100% of the energy is going into the bar buisness. The quality of the food has declined, and the wait staff is quite unattentive, and sometimes even rude. We've tried three times now and I'd say we are taking a break. Hope they get the message and make improvements. Last time, it was nearing an hour to get the food from time of order and it wasn't worth waiting for."

"We hadn't been in Palm Springs in a couple months and we were very happy to be back at Wang's. Happy Hour was busy and fun as always, a chance to see people we haven't seen in awhile and great drinks and drink prices. I'm really not sure why they had a go-go dancer in the bar area at 7:00 p.m.??? Not really that kind of a place. One thing we didn't like was the shift of Happy Hour from 5-8 to 4:30-7:30. We generally make resv for 8:00: coming from LA on Fri can be time consuming and it was always nice to catch HH before dinner. Brendan was very nice and gave us HH prices since it was our first time there after change in hours. The food was delicious! Gerardo was our server and he is always great!! "I think this venue is probably a better bar than it is restaurant. Whilst it was clearly popular and busy and therefore had quite a good buzz about it, the food did not live up to expectations. It was described to us before we went as Asian fusion, but it is probably more accurately described as a slightly more adventurous take on Asian. I am not convinced the adventure was worth it - all the dishes we had were on the sweet side."
