"We just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at the Dallas Chop House and it was the perfect dining place for the occasion. Steak was PERFECT! Sides were delicious and the Popovers were amazing."

"We had just landed in Dallas, and were staying at the Sheraton and wanted steaks - In Texas - Of Course Came to the Chop House and I am so glad we came here . We had the beef hot rock and the oysters. The hot rock was such a great idea to have an interactive process and we could chat and eat at our own pace. The oysters were fresh and me originally being from the East coast , it was a pleasure to get a nice bunch of oysters. The dry aged beef was exceptional in flavor and had a great texture and the sear was right. The temperature on both the dry age and the 12 oz filet were perfect. The sides were great and got two of them. Tried the carrot cake, was a great presentation with the frosting and the carrots put on at the table, it was great."

"The steak was tender and well prepared, but the star of the show was the peanut butter mousse with chocolate sauce and banana pudding ice cream. Absolutely amazing!"

"Yeah, this restaurant was not all that. The Himalayan salt aged stead was tender but overall bland. The grilled asparagus didn't taste grilled - more like microwaved. If you're visiting dallas tx from out of state you expect excellent steak so I wouldn't suggest this place for a good steak experience."

"Dinner was awesome! We order crab cakes everywhere we go and most disappoint with the amount of breading included. This crab cake was loaded full of crab and was delicious! We were both a bit weary since it's served over a tomato compote and that sounded a bit weird. It totally works! We highly recommend!! Both steaks were prepared perfectly and were full of flavor. Order the corn crème brulee side. I swear I wanted to order another so I could have more on the way home! For dessert we got the lemon meringue with the pistachio biscotti. it was tart and sweet with a marshmallow type fluffy top. It was an amazing dinner. I was a bit worried with the mixed reviews but, ignore them. I highly recommend going to Dallas Chop House!"

"My husband and I had a date night with dinner and a show at the Majestic so I decided to find a nice steakhouse downtown near the theater. Dallas Chop House showed to be close (within a block) and the reviews were okay. In a nutshell, the service was great but the food was mediocre. My husband had the wet aged filet mignon and I had the himalayan salt dry aged rib eye. I decided for the rib eye since it was their specialty and was supposed to be very tender per the server's description. Unfortunately it wasn't. It was no different than a steak i could get at Saltgrass for much less. My husband's filet was even tougher, luckily they give you big heavy steak knives! Needless to say we were disappointed."

"My wife and I decided to try Dallas Chop House to try something new. It was a very nice dinner. We thought the seafood tower was great. Steak was very good - probably not my absolute favorite, but very good. We liked the ambiance inside the restaurant and it was nice to have somewhere to go in the heart of Downtown Dallas. We will go back."

"I ordered the chilled split pea soup which tasted like green syrup. Very sweet and fake looking. I did not eat and the waiter asked if I didn't like and I replied Too Sweet. I only ordered Soup and Small Salad. They must not have had another soup to offer b/c the waiter didn't offer to bring me anything different or to deduct the $7 soup from our check."

"Had my birthday dinner here with a special friend. The cocktails were delicious and had unique flavors. We had the empanada and the tuna tartar as starters. The empanada had a great filling and the mushroom sauce was exquisite. The tuna was so red and fresh, great flavors and the cucumber water the server put for us made it oh so wonderful. We had the surf and turf , and the scallops for dinner. The surf was a great fresh lobster on top of a beautifully cooked steak, with great sauces. The scallops had a great fresh caramelized flavor, with everything on it was great. The sides were also great, the server was very attentive and was there but not intrusive on our conversation. Will return very soon."

"This is my third time to go there for lunch. I was thinking of this as a steak place but it was a little odd. They don't have a dinner salad only large salads. The steak was OK but not great. too much fat and a bit thin. 10 oz strip I think. The sides were a little wierd. Not many choices. No baked potato or green vegetables. It came wih fries. We were in a small room which was nice cause it was quiet. In the past we were out in the big room and it was too noisy for conversation. A good place but not great for the price point."

"The service was not good at all. We sat at our table a good 15 minutes before we grabbed the waiter to take our drink order. In fact we had to grab him everytime we wanted something - even to order our meals. He never checked on us and when we commented on the slow service he just said 'I am listening'. We spoke to the manager after we paid the bill and all he said was 'Sorry, here is my card we will take better care of you next time.' Not good. I would only continue to recommend it because I have had good service in the past."

"We came for a quick bite and stayed for a fantastic dinner . We had the bone marrow and the octopus. The bone was cut lengthwise so we could get to the marrow without struggling for it and it was heavenly with the fresh salad and mushrooms. The octopus was tender and had a very interesting salad with garbanzo and herbs. the sauce had just the right amount of spice in it. We later had the dry aged ribeye and also had a porterhouse, both had a great flavor and the dry aged meat had an awesome meaty taste . ( hard to put into words) Both were cooked to the desired temperature and was impressed when the server asked me to cut it to see if it was the right temperature. We will definitely be back."

"Overall, we had a great experience! Great place for a romantic dinner. We were seated and attended to promptly. The only negative was that we were never served their signature “pop-over”??? bread which I didn’t notice until we saw it being served to other tables before their meal arrived. But, they exceeded expectations in other areas. They brought out a sampling of champagne and a lobster appetizer. The steak tartar appetizer has been upgraded to more of an experience. The ingredients are mixed together at the table by the server. The 24-ounce Cowboy Ribeye was prepared perfectly. No need to add their homemade steaksauce. The sides were great also. Will have to save room for dessert next time. We will definitely go back."

"Very overpriced steaks that were not very good. Service was horrible. We saw our waiter once every 20-25 minutes at the most. He forgot part of our order completely. Do not go here!"

"We were seated in the bar for some reason. The bartender had three customers but was loud, opinionated and could tell his life story. Wish they'd seated us elsewhere."

"Food was overprced for a moderately decent steak. Ended up bwing quiet a bit nore than say... ruth chris... and the steaks and sides and bread. And really everything is better there. My steak was basically just a piece of meat that had basically no seasonings and was charred on the outside. If u like VERY lightly seasoned steaks then this place is for you. To be clear... it was a very good cut of meat.... just next to no flavor."

"The food is decent but I wouldn't rush back.French fries with parmesan and truffle oil sounded delicious but they came out cold and overly seasoned. Filet was acceptable but definitely not worth $30 at lunch. Beef didnt have much flavor even though it was cooked to medium rare. Nothing to rave about.I didn't try the popevers that were served at the table. They looked good.Tried the lime cheesecake for dessert which had absolutley no lime flavor at all.It was sweet but not satisfying with the exception of the few kernals of fresh mango served on the top. Very disappointing. Companion had a salad that she said was tasty and well executed."
