"I had been here for lunch about a year ago and it was good. The other day, we went for a special occassion and the food was not the same. The portions were small and the order was not correct. It was quiet because no one was at the restaurant. Disappointed."

"Know people who love Piccola Roma. Checked it out on TripAdvisor before making a reservation. The waiter was great, as was the food. We were seated very near a door where apparently extra produce and other non-food items are stored, as we got to see several waiters go in and out with food, a bucket, etc. I could have lived without this, especially since the restaurant was not filled during the time we were there. I would definitely return, but ask not to be seated in the same spot."

"Having visited this restaurant as part of a food tour, we were anxious to come again. The appetizer we selected was a heavenly crab and artichoke creation in a light puff pastry. This is the best appetizer we've ever had! The lobster ravioli came with a lovely, smooth sauce of tomato and vodka, and was delicious! We also sampled the house sangria, which, made with brandy, was perfect. The only item we found that lacked all we hoped for was the shrimp bisque. We anticipated a smooth bisque, but the shrimp were in whole lumps, and in a rather bland creamy base. Otherwise, we can't wait to come again to try out other of their outstanding menu items."

"Facility was clean and quaint, staff was polite and knowledgeable, food was great and prepared in unusual ways and the night was almost ruined when I was offered what looked like Kraft grated cheese."

"This Annapolis staple has been up and down over the years, and is definitely now up! Their menu has a good variety of foods and choices and they will adapt for you if there's something else you want. For a pleasant change, the wine service was perfect! There was no trying to overfill glasses to empty out the bottle. The setting can't be beat."

"The seafood spagetti was one of the best meals I've ever had! And the wait staff reacted to our needs the moment we needed them. Wonderful meal and experience. Can't wait to go back!"

"Well prepared classic Italian dishes. Fresh local seafood and a good chef. We had a table of four and were one of two dining groups in the restaurant on a late Thursday night (9PM reservations). Easy to find and located right on Main Street in historical Annapolis."

"Was poorly handled by wait staff. Refused to be seated at restaurant. Showed up half hour early for window table. Restaurant was mostly empty. Gave away the table I had been promised and asked for in reservation. Staff was not apologetic"

"Both entrees were just average....appetizer (mushrooms) were very good...desert (bread pudding) was stale, tasteless. Good wine recommendation. Meal was not worth the $137 plus."

"Pros: great corner table, excellent mushroom ravioli, good prosciutto/crab/puff pastry appetizer, very good veal piccata, and pasta carbonara. Cons: ravioli and puff pastry appetizer were over sauced and basically tasted like cream. Rich sauces like this should be used with restraint. Also seemed like they needed further reduction in order to concentrate flavors. Extremely limited and poor white wine by the glass choices. Caesar salad - greens perfectly fresh and crisp but dressing was bland, no hint of lemon, anchovy, garlic, or parm. We love this place even with the shortcomings. Luckily the hits outweighed the misses."

"We haven't been to Piccolo Roma in quite some time, but we're glad we went. The food was fresh and delicious. We had the bruschetta, flash fried spinach (a rare treat!), the roasted pepper/cheese chicken and the eggplant parmesan . . . all excellent. Our only regret is that we forgot our leftovers at the restaurant."
