"Having a large party with children worked well here. Staff was knowledgable of the menu. Best event of the experience was receiving a call on our cell phone that our table was not going to be available right at our reservation time, but we could sit in the bar or arrive a few minutes late for our reservation. We were on our way so our party sat outside by the fire and chatted knowing the staff had us taken care of."

"One of the best burgers I've ever had! It was a filet and brisket burger topped with pork belly! Amazing! It was a special but they should put it on the menu stat! Our party of 4 all loved everything. Great service, fun vibe, and all different types and ages of people. You can tell Birchs appeals to younger, older, kids, date night, or quickie dinner! Their patio was opened and next time we will have to sit outside..nice atmosphere and burning gas fire pit. Thanks Birchs!"

"Another great night at Birchs! It's our neighborhood Cheers! Friendly and gracious staff who pay special attention to detail! The chalkboard specials are always fabulous and fresh. The chef stays up on creating exciting memorable dishes. Restaurant small but cozy! Fresh oysters, Ahi Tuna, Cracker Crusted Walleye, and Fish Tacos were a few dishes our group chose! Don't miss out on the side of Brussels sprouts...amazing! Can't wait to go back!"

"The food was good, however it seemed they had trouble keeping the food warm. The atmosphere was nice however very very small in the restaurant, seemed we were packed in the dining room, and the buffet was setup around the bar, the service was really good, very friendly."

"The atmosphere is unique, cute and tastful. The dining area is too small. The tables are too small and the dishes the food is served in are too large which over dominate the table. When the food was served there was no room left for the bread basket and if there would have been a salad, no room left for a salad plate as well; much too crowded. The tables are too close together. We were fortunate to sit next to adults, however if there were children next to us it may have been noisy. In contrast, the bar area is ovehwhelming and dominates the ONE room which combines the bar and dining. It appeared that because the room is so small, the establishment tried to fit as many tables as possible. Everyone was personlly greeted, warmly."

"I believe our server forgot we were there. She kept disappearing. Others would take our orders for another glass of wine, and then ... still nothing. It wasn't extremely busy, and these were not new staff. ?? With prices like they have, I'd expect better service."

"Another great family dinner at Birchs--served well by Amber. The drinks are hand-crafted and excellent, as is the food. Unusual foi gras topped burgers were amazing. Always love the fact that we can get fresh oysters on the half shell. Someone in our group always orders the fried chicken and the rest of us wish we had! We enjoy the intimacy of the restaurant as well as the always changing and delicious menu."

"My girlfriend and I went to Birchs for Valentines Day. The one thing I can say is the service was impeccable! Very knowledgeable of the menu and we never had to wait long for a refill on our beverages. The only downside was how cramped we were, The tables were so close together you were rubbing elbows with your neighbor and it was impossible to have a private conversation."

"Dined with another couple. Our server was pretty slow and didn't seem able to cope with the many tables she was serving. Food was delivered quickly (albeit, one order was incorrect, but was quickly rectified). The food was excellent. Had the pork chop special and it was one of the best pork chops I can remember having. The others at our table enjoyed their meals as well (veal bolognese, lobster mac-and-cheese, ribs).
Decent beer selection with several local craft beers along with a wide assortment for the Bud-Miller-Coors crowd.
Will definitely go back as it has been way to long since we last went. Well worth the drive."

The appetizers are amazing--delicious oysters, fried onion rings or sliders. Wild boar tacos make for an unusual entree. Don't miss their signature cake roll for dessert!"

"Birchs has become a favorite for me and my wife. The wait staff is friendly and professional. The food quality is outstanding and consistent. The owner has a presence in the kitchen and the dining room and it shows. The place is also spotless. This is a gem in Long Lake but the secret is out so you'd best reserve."
