Our new pop up restaurant "il garage", an Italian restaurant concept, overlooks our organic garden. il garage is available for dinner Tuesday - Friday 5:00pm - 9:00pm with live music. We will be serving dinner on Saturdays at il garage beginning July 2nd, 2011.

"Lunch was a miss at Park Avenue as compared to wonderful dinners which I have had there in the past. I ordered a filet mignon stir fry that was drenched in a sauce which killed all flavors. My companion had a chicken pot pie which he liked, but kept remarking that it was calorie loaded. I had a taste and found it to have too much flour as a thickening agent in the sauce.
I will go there again, trying something else before eliminating it as a lunch spot."

"for Mother's Day. We sat in a garage - was pretty different having a couple of tractors nearby at dinner. It was very hot that day - in the 90s, so a little steamy in the restaurant, but we asked to sit out there so we knew what we were getting into. Food was good and fresh, altho somewhat bland - needed to add red pepper to my seafood linguine. My wife had the pork shank that was very good, and so was my daughter's whitefish. All in all, a very enjoyable night."

"Phenomenal food and service. I really didn't know what to expect. I took my girlfriend here for a special occasion in hopes that it would deliver the romantic atmosphere and great food I had read about. It meet and greatly exceeded my expectations by far.The ambiance was superb, the food and drinks were out of this world, and for what you get, the price was very reasonable.
We both tried the specials, myself the prime rib, and my girlfriend the Antelope. Both were among the top I had ever tasted. A sweet treat at the end from their young pastry chef Allison, was a welcome surprise. She also bakes all the restaurants bread (equally unique and delicious).
Don't miss out on this one. Have a night on the town and treat yourself to Park Ave."

"As usual Park Ave served us a wonderful meal with impeccable service and amazingly satisfying taste from start to finish. From the spinach salad tossed at table side, the best tomato soup anywhere on earth, to the delicious Salmon plate and finally completed with a wonderful tasting berry sorbet. It so nice to find this gem of a restaurant in the Stanton area. Also it's great to see the chef and the owner always on the floor greeting their guests and asking how everything was, Always nice to get what you pay for in a nice restaurant."

"Great food--service was good but it did take about an hour to get our food. There was a large party so I think that was the reason. Some of the guests were not dressed appropriately, so it was kind of a bummer to see that. Also, the back room needs help with the decor. The curtains are just out of place and let too much light into the room. The decor doesn't match the quality of food. I do like the front room much more than the back room. I think just some minor adjustments and it will look fine.
Overall, a pleasant meal and I will come back again-but probably not on a Saturday night."

"The Service was fantastic. Our waiter new the menu, had a sense of humor and was very energetic. We were are group of four, my wife and my parents, celebrating my wife's birthday. The setting is dark, they were serving antelope and if you like the outdoors you can sit next to the garden. Restaurant is more of a steakhouse. Garden dining is Italian. Two very different experience all in the same location... next time... we will go to the li'l garage for Italian."

"First impressions are that this restaurant has good service and decent food that is in my opinion overpriced. I mean come on $9.00 for a simple iceberg lettuce salad? It was just as stated iceberg lettuce and a few croutons and thats it. I've had much better salads for half that price. Overall I wasn't impressed."

"I love throw back restaurants. They remind me of the fancy restaurants my folks to me to in the sixties. Park Avenue's interior is a well maintained early 60's (late 50'5?) decor. Some might not like the old school dark interior. The food was good, the normal menu is standard steak house fare - it was well prepared and presented and satisfying. I also ordered a special; antelope. So they spice up the menu with some specials. I will go back. The food is good and the decor brings back great memories."

"What really affected our night was that we were standing in the garden without anyone directing/assisting us to the hostess or a table. It was our first time there, so we were a bit misplaced between the two restuarants. The Servers did not go the distance to ensure us a wonderful night. "Park Ave. is a great place for a romantic dinner. Start off with a drink at the bar and a chat with the friendly and knowledgeable bartenders.
On this occasion my husband and I shared a shrimp cocktail and caesar salad to start. I had the filet mignon special and my husband had the stuffed pork chop. The food was good but on this occasion not spectacular. On our last visit I had the ribeye and the beet salsd both of which I love. Next time I'm going back to my favorites! "After reading a lot of reviews my husband & I decided to dine at the Park Ave. to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From outside this restaurant looks average with limited parking (not quite ideal). But, it redeemed itself once we were inside. Our reservation was at 6 PM & we were promptly seated. Our server was knowledgeable & friendly. Also, our food came out fairly quickly and was delicious! My husband enjoyed his Steak & my Salmon dish was cooked perfectly. We saw a lot of large groups dinning here. The restaurant was loud and lacked the romantic ambiance. However, their gardens were beautiful! Overall this restaurant has good food & service, but their location is lackluster & it does not stand up to the hype."

"Our first-time visit made it clear why it has such a high Zagat rating. The meals and desserts were delicious -- so tasty, that you want to eat slowly and savor your food! We had their pork chops and mixed grill (one rack of lamb bone, filet medallion, and skewered shrimp). Sharing their in-house prepared peanut butter sundae and chocolate ice cream brulee together was a scrumptious way to finish the meal. Service was excellent and friendly.
Didn't care for the retro 50s/60s interior and dark lighting, though we have heard that several others like the ambiance and especially the food/service. Because the food and service were outstanding, we'll be back to try other dishes."

"We went to Park Ave for a group birthday dinner. It was a good ambiance, romantic lighting and stylish furniture. I don't drink, but there was an extensive wine, beer and cocktail menu. The food tasted good, but being a farm to table restaurant the veggies weren't what I expected. I'm a vegetarian and was look forward to their vegetables, especially after seeing the menu. The carrots were under cooked, the artichokes were inedible. I wanted to order the white asparagus with blood orange hollandaise but my server yelled at me, telling me how horrible it was, so I ordered the regular side order of asparagus with the sauce and they were okay. The squash blossoms were my favorite, but you can't go wrong with a mouth full of goat cheese."

"Dinner was wonderful! Denise was our server and she was very attentive and prompt. We explained that it was our first time there and she encouraged us to take a walk in the garden. My husband and I took her suggestion and were thankful we did! This week(for my birthday)we will be trying Il Garage. Wonderful meal, ambiance and staff! We were in one of the back booths and they had a large party in the back room and it was a bit loud, but laughter is always a good thing to hear. It would be nice if they had doors to filter out some noise from large parties."

"I took my wife there for her birthday after receiving several recommendations from friends. It was a truly great dining experience, and we both ate more than we had planned. Afterwards, we took a tour of the grounds (excellent for a wedding or other group occasion), the garden where they grow some of their food, and Il Garage, whose looks belie its name. This is an Italian restaurant at the back of the property which smelled delightful, and made it on our list of places to try for other occasions such as our anniversary. All in all, a really memorable experience and well worth a visit."

"Park Avenue is our favorite restaurant! The service is always outstanding! We have taken our family and friends to both The Garage as well as Prk Ave. on numerous occasions and everyone loves both. The Chef has come to our table everytime we are there and gives us his recommendations. This is a GREAT restaurant that I would highly reccomend to anyone!"

"My first time visit was mixed. Friends enjoyed club sandwich and salmon salad. My choice of shrimp and romaine salad was less so. Three shrimp beside two hearts of romaine was a disappointing overpriced lunch."

"This is a restaurant gem in an industrial area of Stanton. The 50s style restaurant is in front of a mobile home park (unusual), and the food is excellent. I have had dinners in il garage looking over their garden as well as Sunday brunch on the outsidepatio. I would recommend all forms of dining, although the large room in the back can be very noisy when there are special occasion events held in that room (overflow from main dining room)."

"This was our fifth or sixth time at this restaurant. It's a gourmet gem in a non-gourmet neighborhood. But the inside ambiance takes over the outside, and the food is spectacular -- every time, whether it's the main restaurant or "Il Garage Ristorante" ... the Italian section of the restaurant, near the amazing fresh veggie and herb gardens where they grow much of what the patrons eat inside or out!

"Great place with excellent updated comfort food . Classic steak,sauces and some interesting signature menu items. Loved the old school feel and the tour of the gardens and sister restaurant was fascinating . We wated 35 minutes past our reservation time ( we were on time) and it was treated like business as usual. We did like the bar, but reservations need to be seated on time or some explanation offered. Other than the wait, the experience was excellent and we will return with friends"

"I have passed this place every Sunday for years while driving to my in laws in La Habra and was very excited to try it (finally!). Immediately walking in, I fell in love with the mid-century modern style of the decor. It made me feel like I was walking in to an episode of Mad Men. My husband and I shared a bottle of Malbec, which was great. Even the bread and butter was notable. I had the filet mignon and twice baked potato, he had the lamb chops. We were both satisfied with the portions and the preparation. Dessert was a banana torte for me and blueberry bread pudding for him. We weren't disappointed by our choices, once again. We walked the property after dinner. It would be a wonderful place for a wedding reception. Absolutely beautiful."
