"This was our first time at Il Punto and we will definitely return, especially if we have theatre tickets in the 42nd Street area. 5 dined at the restaurant and each person was extremely happy with their main course. Two appetizers and 1 of the two desserts also were great. The kitchen knows how to prepare food the tastes homemade, not commercial. Our waitress was helpful. This is a find."

"This is an authentic Italian Restaurant. There are items on the menu that you will not find in other Italian Restaurants. Such as Wild Boar and real Italian Cheesecake. The ambiance was very nice and romantic. You can actually sit and chat with your guest while dining without having to strain to hear them or shout over the loud noise. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for a NY location. Portion sizes were large. The Italian Cheesecake and Tiramisu was mouth watering good. The service was very efficient. The only issue we had was that our waiter didn't seem to understand English too well. I will definitely return and I highly recommend it to everyone! It's a really great restaurant."

"Just a short walk from the theatre district, Il Punto is a wonderful change of pace dining experience. Although the cuisine is Italian, the offerings are not the usual fare. We shared an onion gelato with green salad and shrimp that was delicious and refreshing. The striped bass and branzino were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. The service is warm and professional but not intrusive. We've dined here a lot and we are always surprised at the variety and delicious taste of the specials. This is a very special restaurant that is worth the extra few blocks' walk."

"A little farther away from the theater than we usually go but well worth the short walk! The food was superb! Our waiter Fabio was incredible and steered us toward dishes that we would never have chosen without his suggestions. He was right on target! The wine list was very nice. An overall great experience!"

"My girlfriend and I went to the city for the day. We were seeing a show at 7, so we went to dinner early. We were the first and only people to come in for dinner the entire time we were there (4:30-6:15). The servers and staff were unbelievably nice and welcoming. Our pasta fagiole was among the best I've ever had. The lobster ravioli was phenomenal and my girlfriend loved her meal as well (whole wheat pasta with raspberry vodka sauce). Our tiramisu after dinner was without a doubt the best I have ever had. They even brought us some complimentary biscotti with our coffee. The experience was wonderful. Please try this place!"

"We were a party of 4 on a Friday night, May 3, with a 6:15 pm reservation. Seated right away at a quieter table, per my OT request. Service was highly attentive and friendly. Food was outstanding and beautifully presented. Pacing was just right. Definitely a 5-star experience. I definitely will return."

"Even though Il Punto is a few blocks away from the theatre district, we often find ourselves there for a per-show dinner. Food is great, service is great - friendly management and staff. Everyone we invite to join us for dinner enjoys it too."

"Il Punto was terrific. It is a bit out of the way, but well worth the ten block walk from the theatre district. We went with two other couples and they were equally pleased. We began with scallops, salads, artichoke hearts among other appetizers. The dinners we ate included beef rollatini, monk fish, rabbit, turkey ossa bucco, and veal chop. The menu was extremely interesting, as you can see, and delicious. The service was supreme. They asked if we had a play to go to and we said no, we were just returning from one. This can be an issue in New York City when you eat around 5:30, which we did. The server made sure we were not rushed. The wine was excellent and not overly priced, nor were the meals. The specials are printed."

"We go to NYC often and this restaurant was terrific. Our waiter from Lake Cuomo, Italy was wonderful, pleasant and attentive. We had the Chet's tasting menu that was a deal at $65/person. Great bottle of Chianti to accompany it. We will go back for sure. Convenient to the theatre with real charm and great food."

"Il Punto has been our favorite restaurant since we moved in recently. The food and service are excellent. The staff know which table we like and how we like things already which is remarkable. There's a nice choice of fish which we like as we don't eat meat. The atmosphere is lovely, quiet, lovley music, and very friendly staff.

"Treat yourself to the full tasting dinner. It is the difference between simply eating out elsewhere and enjoying a remarkable dining experience. Truly wonderful flavors and textures make for a special meal. After you try the "uova in camicia" ("egg in a shirt') any other egg dish will not compare. Hopefully, a wine-pairing will be offered at some point to make this tasting menu truly special."

"We were not sure what to expect, but were treated to a very pleasant surprise. The restaurant decor is welcoming and service was very attentive. The menu was interesting to the point that it was difficult to chose among the many delicious sounding options. The food presentation was wonderful and the portion size reasonable -- not overwhelming. From the first bite we knew there would be a return visit in our future."

"Small tables with plenty of space between them for a quiet, private dinner is an unusual feature in NYC restaurants. All pasta was homemade though my gnocci had been previously made and frozen as it was not as soft as never frozen pasta (I am a homemade pasta afficianado). Sauces were wonderful and some unusual (berry vodka with grappa). Salads also had an unusual twist (finochio ribbons with berries). We did not do desert."

"Food was terrific. Unfortunately, the bread selections left a lot to be desired. The focaccia bread had a tasteless 'quality'. The regular Italian bread slices were not a real Italian bread. We had dined at Bar Americain the previous evening and the bread there was spectacular.
The wine (by the glass) was wonderful."

"The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were give a table in a busy area. When we asked to move, we were moved to a table with virtually no space to move, and a very loud group of tourist nearby. Finally we were given a table that was nice and where we could attempt to enjoy our meal. The waiter was very nice, and explained all the specials to us. When our appetizers came out, the calamari looked more like onion rings than anything else. Not a good start. I ordered the rigatoni, which ended up tasting more like Chef Boy-r-dee Beefaroni! Portions were small, but they were enough to fill you up. Just don't expect to take anything home as you will probably not have leftovers.
In all, it is not a bad restaurant, we will not go ba"
