"Boy did I escape trouble this mothers day. I neglected to make brunch reservations so the day before mothers day I called around and all of my wifes favorite restaurants were booked. I went to bed leaving an angry wife. While I was sleeping she went on Open Table and found the Tarragon Inn. We live in the Cleveland area so it is about an hour and a half away from us. She told me about the reservation the next morning but I couldn't complain about the distance since I was the one who blew the reservation. Now to the food. It was delicious. They had a buffet that had three sections, salads, main course and desserts. I don't have enough space to explain how good it was, but let me say, this has now become my wifes favorite restaurant."

"Our dinner at Tarragon was exceptional. The appetizer was excellent, and our entrees were outstanding. Despite that I ordered the vegetarian lasagna, and my wife ordered shrimp and scallops, the waitress did an excellent job helping us select a wine that paired nicely with both. We ordered the strawberry-rhubarb bread pudding for dessert, which was a wonderful indulgence.
Even though our bill was not inexpensive, the management comped the whole thing since the TV in our room at the Inn did not work. Very generous!"

"Very large group (50+?) descended on the restaurant shortly after we had remarked on how much we were enjoying the ambiance. We decided that we needed to order quickly before the crowd did. We will probably return, but not without asking in any large meetings are scheduled. It's a two hour drive, one way, to the Inn and so we will probably stay overnight the next time we come."

"My third time dining at the Inn and the food is just absolutely outstanding. Every time I have gone to Amish Country I have taken a different friend to this restaurant and they have all been totally impressed. The presentation of the food is gorgeous! Will be back next time I am in Berlin!"

"We recently dined at the Tarragon for my birthday. It was disappointing. The wine menu was very limited. The server had too many tables and did not come back to check on us for long periods of time. She did not bring water, even when asked. Both my husband and I ordered the filet mignon. Not only were the steaks quite small for the price but they overcooked my husband's to the point where he could not eat it. My steak was prepared properly. We've eaten at Tarragon several times and have usually enjoyed the food and service, but this was not one of those times."

"Ambiance still lovely. Food ok but nothing special. Soup not hot. Had to ask for salt, pepper, and sweetener for iced tea and mayo for sandwich. Husband said beef and mushroom pie tasted good but portion small . Server was very sweet but not very efficient. One hated to have to keep asking for basics. We will not likely return very soon."

"It was nice. It is not for late night . We had an eight o clock reservation and it was empty by 8:45am. Kitchen closed at nine. Would have probably reserved seven if we were aware of this."

"We loved dining in your resturant. We have been in this area many of times but didn't know this existed. We are so glad the B&B suggested it. We cannot wait till summer to sit outside on the deck. Thank you for great food and service. In an Amish setting....this truely was a surprise and treat."

"It's off-season for the Inn at Honey Run. So it was particularly quiet but I enjoy that. We had a filet and a hanger steak for dinner and both were cooked to perfection. Views of the forested setting are part of the charm."

"I visted your establishment to celebrate my wife's birthday. I wanted something quiet, quaint and would set the tone for an enjoyable meal and memorable evening for her. The service was timely, allowing to get what we needed, but giving us privacy. The overall experience was a pleasure for her and that's all that matters."

"Overall a nice dining experience. Overpriced for the local market. Food is nearly gourmet quality with reasonable but not stellar service. Wine selection limited. Dinner for 2 with average wine and no dessert ran over $130 with tip."

"By far the MOST AWESOME dinner we've had in a very long time! Excellent service, relaxed atmosphere and exquisite food! At first look at the menu, I thought prices were a little "pricey", however after our experience, it was WORTH EVERY PENNY! Compliments to the Chef and staff! THANK YOU for a truly memorable dining experience! We DEFINITELY will be back!"

"Thought the luncheon was good, the prices were a bit higher than the last time I was there. Was also looking for the ham loaf that was offered in the past for lunch and didn't see it. Wondering if it is no longer on the menu? But Honey run is lovely place and I know that I will be back in the future. Thanks."

"We stayed at the inn there. It was sunday, so nothing else was open. I don't mind spending $80 dollars on a nice meal for two, but the food was nothing special. It tasted good, but plated like a home cook at best. Both of our dinners were gray and we ordered two different meals. Again, good food, but not for that price. It also has a very weird feel. There are dividers running down the middle of the resuraunt? The service was overly formal too and almost cold, like robots. The next morning for our free breakfast, the waitress gave my wife a funny look when she changed her mind and ordered a coffee. Find a local diner instead! But, the stay was very nice at the actual inn!"

"The food was tasty and very filling but, for meal prices of around $27, we would have to say that we've bought fresher tasting salmon at the local grocery and that the open-faced hamburger was way overpriced. In addition, if one is asked "how do you want your beef prepared" then it should come that way (medium rare)."

"We have been to the Inn at Honey Run before, but not for a couple of years. It was always very nice and it's better than ever today. The food is delicious - we had the chef's special: duck in a cherry sauce with roasted vegetables accompanied by choice of field greens or Caesar salad. The portions are good: neither scanty nor super-sized. The restaurant is not inexpensive but appropriate ($50/person including a bottle of wine and tip)and worth it. The dining room has been refurbished in the last year, removing the fountains with their white noise. There is now a room partition and easy chairs: both changes contributing to a quieter and peaceful ambiance. Our waitress was extremely attentive - all in all a very pleasant dining experience."

"My impression is that this restaurant, and the Inn that houses it, are trying to raise the bar for the area that they are located in, Ohio Amish country. Unfortunately, they don't seem quite able to meet the standards that they set for themselves, or the prices that they need to charge in order to sustain them. Service was spotty, slow and somewhat muddled, despite the restaurant being half empty on a Saturday night. The food was uninspired, despite seemingly lofty intentions. Our waitress seemed confused by an order of cocktails. An amuse bouche, touted on the menu, never arrived. The pork was unfortunately a bit overcooked and tough, fairly inexcusable. All in all, a rather ordinary meal in a very scenic setting."

"Excellent food, adequate service by Dawn, lovely setting. As a nod to its Amish neighbors and the inn's history, an Amish dish or two on the dinner menu would have been welcomed by us as an option."

"Recently remodeled--makes a good place even better. We've been coming here for lunch for maybe 15 years through three owners. Each owner has improved the place and the current restaurant manager does a great job; we once asked him if the patio was open and he responded: "would you like it to be?" and promptly opened it for us. The food ranges from ordinary to inventive and is generally well prepared--my salmon on this visit was a bit salty, though. Located 30 feet in the air the view is outstanding from inside or from the patio. The prices are a bit high for the area but a good value for the quality, food presentation and overall ambiance. In the summer, be sure to enjoy the patio--the best in Northern Ohio."

"This was our second visit and we had high expectations based on our first visit. Sadly, this visit did not compare. The tuna moose "gift" was surprisingly delightful and the service was great. However, the hambuger dish I received appeared it was a leftover and recooked. It literally crumbled apart as I cut into it because it was so dry and the bread it was served over was simply a piece of bread, it did not add anything to the dish. Additionally, the potatoes had no flavoring and the described golden potatoes arrived purple (different kind of potatoe served?) Loved the new decor, however the food was unappetizing, especially at $24 for a burger."

"They had a big slip up in communication on our arrival when no server "claimed" us. It took about 15 minutes and us to flag down someone to get served. Both the hostess and the waitress apologized and then we were off. Service from that point forward was great. They gave us a little extra pour on the wine and my Malbec was good. The Cream of Tomato Soup was good but not spectacular. My Caesar Salad was excellent. My entree, the Pumpkin Ravioli was the hit of the meal. On first taste it was over sweet but as I settled in, it was an enjoyable dish. The duck confit was a bit too chewy and the "green bean to ravioli ratio" was skewed to the beans. Still, I enjoyed the dish. A slow start but an (eventually) enjoyable meal."
