Beautiful riverfront views combined with quality southern cuisine and friendly service has made Cypress Inn Tuscaloosa's premiere casual dining establishment.
The Cypress Inn takes great pride in using only original recipes featuring the freshest ingredients. Traditional Southern entrees, desserts, breads, dressings and sauces are all prepared by the Cypress Inn staff.
"The Inn sits on a bluff overlooking the Black Warrior River, with wonderful views and a bucolic atmosphere. The menu was varied. We both had fish (blackened mahi-mahi with a fresh salsa) and found it well above average. The service was friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. The only negative was that, as the restaurant filled, the noise level reached uncomfortable for us. Thankfully we were nearly finished by this point. We would go back again when we are in the area, but might try a week night when crowds are likely to be smaller."

"This was our second visit to Cypress Inn both for special occasions. Making a reservation is definitely the way to go, while there I heard it was a 45min to 1hr wait. There are wooden rocking chairs to enjoy while u wait. Most food prices are affordable but pricey menu items are available. I had the steak and shrimp special, the steak was well worth the extra expense, but the 3 shrimp were tasty but a disappointment in value The breads they put on the table are addictive. Great dock to enjoy."

"Our table awaited us and we were quickly seated on the deck to capture the setting sun. Beginning with the platter of appetizers, our entire meal did not disappoint A real neighborhood gem and a great place to relax after a day of football."

"Although the service was a bit slow the food and view made up for it. We had a center view of the Black Warrior river. Very scenic. The food was excellently prepared and plated beautifully."

"Visiting Tuscaloosa and had an early dinner at The Cypress Inn. We had a terrific experience there, and highly recommend it. The meals were well prepared and presented, the service was great, and we sat outside on a beautiful day looking over the river... perfect. We look forward to going back on our next visit."

"Everything was delicious. My daughter and I enjoyed the smoked chicken with white barbecue sauce. My husband had a blackened grouper catch of the day special. I love salads, so my favorite dish was the apple salad, full of candied pecans and rich bleu cheese. Of course, we wasted no time devouring our bread basket! It was a great way to celebrate Honors Day for my daughter at the University of Alabama."

"The food was fantastic and the meal not hurried. Our waitress was a little slow (bread brought at end of meal) and we had to ask for refills but other than that, she did well. She was very busy and she may have been a newer waitress but she will be fine once little things are learned. The noise was a bit too much for a romantic dinner but we were not expecting that since we were dining with our adult daughter who was visiting us for the weekend. We were seated promptly (disappointed that it was not a window seat since we had made reservations and we think best seats should be saved for those with reservations) and did not have to wait but we also noticed those without reservations were being seated promptly also."

"A warm welcome beckoned us to the glass enclosed dining area where we enjoyed the platter of appetizers. For our main course we both ordered seafood . Even at a late dining hour all were very accommodating."

"Had eaten at the Cypress Inn YEARS ago. My purpose in visiting last Saturday evening was wife's birthday and guests from Kentucky. We all had an outstanding meal. We indulged in appetizers as well as dessert. Entrees were delicious. We all had different meals, and everyone's was a hit. We will definitely return! Want to enjoy outdoor dining during warm weather and lunch with the view of the river."

"The atmosphere was good. Sitting by the window was nice, but is much nicer in Spring and Summer. My only complaint was the food. Our fried green tomatoes were soggy and cold. Our food was lukewarm. I had chicken and baked potato, both of which were lukewarm. The butter would not even melt in the potato. I was very disappointed as I had brought a friend from B'ham here."

"I have eaten here for lunch on several business trips to Tuscaloosa. This was a first time for dinner. To be fair, several large parties were placing their orders as we were seated. Our food was late, cold and our waiter was either very busy or very forgetful on multiple requests for items forgotten."
