"My wife and I enjoy celebrating special occasions at the BHB. Food is always wonderful and they make you feel special. The Grouper/shrimp special were excellent. The fish was flaky and tender and tasted marvelous."

"For the price I was extremely disappointed in the food. I had to send my steak back because it was so over cooked. We had 4 people at the table and the other 3 were satisfied but I don’t think it’s any place that any of us would ask to go back to. I did think the patio area was very nice."

"BHB is exceptional in every way. The food, service, atmosphere, wine list and location (easy access with plenty of parking) are all perfect. The four course dinner special they run during the week is an unbelievable deal. It provides us a great way to sample more dishes than we would normally order. Half priced bottles of wine on Thursdays is another opportunity to indulge in selections we would normally skip in favor of the by the glass options. My only complaint, small as it is, is that their beer selection is somewhat limited and does not include any American style pale ales or IPA's."

"We went on a Saturday evening. Our server was very knowledgable about the food and made several recommendations. They had a special of prime rib on Saturday night. It was hands down the best prime rib we have ever had. We were sorry to hear that the lobster ravoli was being taken off the menu. It was outstanding!"

"Big city quality and style hidden in a former strip mall. Beautiful western decor reminds me of Yellowstone lodges. Service is almost showmanship quality and the food we had was game (bison, elk, and quail) that is hard to find anywhere, but unexpected in Cleveland, TN. Everything was perfectly seasoned and appropriately cooked. Could not afford to go often, but a great special occassion destination."

"We dined at BHB for our 18th Anniversary. It was a wonderful experience, especially if you are looking for fine dining- which is almost impossible to find in the rural southeast corner of Tennessee.
The portions were small and the prices high, but the quality of the meal and the experience was well worth it!"

"We totally enjoyed our experience at BHB. I was amazed at how great the food was and we loved the atmosphere. This was my first visit, My husband had been about 10 years ago. We found you rated #2 on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. It was well worth it. The staff and service was a very special treat for us. We had a wonderful time. Thanks!!!"

"Table for five friends, excellent service. We all had the 4 course special. Bruschetta was the best, Mediterranean salad was great mixture of greens , grapes and dressing. The steak was superb. The potatoes served with the meat was unique and tasty."

"Overall the food was good. What kept it from being excellent was the use of too many ingredients ...in everything. For example:the quail appetizer was stuffed with Boursin cheese and wrapped in bacon served with a fig, onion, balsamic vinegar sauce. Too many flavors competing. Leave off the cheese from the quail and the onions from the sauce? Everything was heavily salted as well."

"We have only dined here twice, on special occasions in 2008 & again now in 2013, and both times were "over-the-top" in excellence regarding food, service and atmosphere. They are known for their beef and even "wild game" such as elk, quail, etc, that you don't see often. A very eclectic and special place. One of the best restaurants at which we've ever had the privilege to dine."

"Absolutely wonderful ! This was our second time eating here. The service, and food were first class. Comfortable and very relaxing. The elk medallions were tender and had excellent flavor. Have to say, The Bald Headed Bistro makes the top of the list!"

"Simply terrific. Food, service, wine list were all superb. Waiter made stellar recs. it was very slow the night we went, so it may be noisier when busy. Wine list was expansive but expensive. Will return."

"The only problem - hard to pick among the incredible variety and quality of creations offered! We went with some standards - BHB filet and the Vegetable Napolean. These dishes were incredible, flavorful, lovingly prepared, and with the finest ingredients. Even the house salad that came with the filet was nearly a meal in itself. My wife and I decided to also split a side of the crab mac and cheese - this was the only disappointment of the evening. The crab had no element of sweetness to it, and its flavor was way too strong, far overpowering the mac and cheese flavors. The fantastic creme brulee, however, quickly swept away any disappointment! Looking forward to returning soon."

"Claim to be famous for steaks, so I ordered one. Ordered the bone-in filet medium rare. The cut was not what it should have been and was separated at 4 places upon presentation. It was overcooked to medium well. Medium rare was only present at the bone. The staff was attentive to us and seemed quite surprised when upon checking with us on the meal that I only gave their steak a "good" rating. They legitimately seemed as though no one had ever told them that their steak wasn't the best thing they had ever experienced. Manager comped a $7 desert for the overcooked $60 steak. Not bad quality, especially for Cleveland, TN, but not what it should be for the price. Other items flavorful but off-temp. Food warm rather than hot."

"Pros: 1. Wife's Filet steak was excellent. 2. Selected wine for dinner was very good. 3. Presentation of food was very good. 4. Service was fast and efficient.
Cons: 1. Outside smoking area was crowed and had to walk into the smoky air to the entrance. 2. Had trouble with using and finding my reservation on the computer. Took 2 of the staff to get it to work. 3. Tried to order some drinks using potato vodka and was told they do not have it anymore. Did suggest a organic but not the same. 4. Appetizer (calamari) was good but the coating was too thick and crunchy. 5. Wife's side dish, sauteed spinach, was chewy and not pleasant to eat. 6. My grouper was old and did not smell fresh, had the smell of caught 2 weeks ago. I have mor"

"My husband and I go to BHB every year for our anniversary. The food is extraordinary and the service is exquisite. For the last two anniversaries, we have taken our children with us. They have thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience along with us. There is absolutely nothing I could complain about. I give them an A+ rating!"

"I thought it was over-priced. If I spend $200.00 on a meal, it better be memorable. This was not. While my wife was happy with her entree, I had the game dinner which just not spectacular. I know it's a small thing but when we were seated, a hostess said she would send the server and bring us bread. No server or bread for a while. Then we got a server but no bread. We asked and he said right away - still no bread. Asked again - bread never showed up. Not what I would expect for that kind of money. Our server was nice young man but he seemed more concerned about being cute and witty as opposed to focusing on serving. Told us he was only 24 so he really had no experience with wine. Never offered specials."

"Decided to come here for a post Valentines week 4-Course dinner at $ 30 per person. Everything was outstanding from the Ponzu Chicken 1st Course, the Salmon Ceasar Salad 2nd course (and I don't even typically like Salmon- it was so tender and perfectly seasoned!) to the Grouper Almondine and topped off with a Jack Daniel's Pecan Tart. The service is impecible and not rushed. I would recommend this dining experience to everyone wanting to unwind and to find a wonderful meal that is unparralled elsewhere in the area."
