The legendary culinary vision of Roy Yamaguchi can be enjoyed right here in Tampa. At Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, our menu features the finest seafood with a focus on delicacies from the oceans around Hawaii. Each creation is a fusion of flavors found in our freshest local ingredients with European sauces and bold Asian spices and served with the spirit of Aloha, creating a dining experience that leaves you feeling like you’ve found paradise. The Tampa restaurant is located directly across from the International Mall and features a lively exhibition kitchen as well as two wonderfully appointed private dining rooms. Guests can also choose to watch their dinner and sushi being made up close at our chef’s counter. Chef Ryan Leto brings his imagination and artistry to the plate every night. "Food overall very good,though not as good as usual. Pork ribs were excellent was the fish. Beef was tough and sauce was bland (Asian Pastrami Beef). Lobster Potstickers a bit tough as well, sushi roll was excellent as was the souffle . Not really at the level I've come to expect at this normally excellent place."

"We've been to a number of Roy's around the country including Hawaii. Been to the Tampa restaurant twice and would definitely go again. Even though I always say I'm going to get something different, I always get the short ribs and they are always fantastic. My husband had the surf and turf and wasn't disappointed. The chocolate soufflé is a must for dessert!! Aloha!"

"Huge restaurant mostly empty but put in corner adjacent to amorous couple who were not really interested in the food but themselves. Couldn't be moved!?! Tried prix-fixe menu with a good choice and value but not relaxed. Seemed to want us out within the 30 minutes of arriving. Must try Charley's the next time we're in Tampa."

"We were so impressed with our experience at Roy's the other evening. I had written on my open table reservation about my dietary restrictions. The waitress greeted us with a special menu and was sure to inform me of which items met my needs. She was careful to double check with the chef on the items I ordered. Everything we ate was cooked perfectly. Because I was unable to eat any of the desserts, she surprised us with a special blackberry sorbet which was so yummy!
I would like to thank all the staff of the Tampa restaurant for such a great experience."

"Began our memorable meal with the legendary Hawaiian Martinis & can now appreciate all the talk. After sharing lobster pot-stickers,my partner had the Hawaiian short-ribs...melted like butter. I couldn't decide between the marinated butter fish or scallops, so my server suggested a combination: the best idea. Also loved the celery/beet salad & bok choy. Ended with the chocolate lava cake/ice cream...after a second martini & gift of champagne. The chef is enormously talented. We had just returned from NYC & were feeling high-maintenance for Tampa...Roy's is fantastic & belongs in Manhattan's mid-town. The service was also outstanding...the manager was a generous & warm host. Our server even took our photo, presented it framed. New favorite!"

"I always enjoy the experience at Roy's. Food is great, service is second to none and management is always very accommodating. Everything we had was fantastic. We told our waitress we were in a rush and she suggested great items that have fast ticket times. The best part was she timed it just right. She facilitated the speed we wanted with perfection. Not a moment when the table was empty or overloaded with plates. We also played a silly joke on one of our guests and the staff played along to perfection. Just an all around great experience."

"My husband and I and our friends were celebrating our anniversary together. We had a wonderful time the food was great. But what made it special for us was the extra touches that Roy's restaurant did for us. When we order dessert little did we know when we got our desserts on our plate was happy anniversary written in Chocolate. Nice touch.Then they took our pictures and framed them for us .We have celebrated many occasions at restaurants and this was the 1st time this has been done. Again very nice touch."

"Third time eating at this Roy's and left disappointed. The butterfish which is normally amazing was just ok and tasted like it had been sitting around a while. Also for a Friday evening we were surprised to see so many open tables. Our server was pleasant and she did a good job but the food coming from the kitchen was slow. Hard to understand why because as mentioned they were not crowded at all. The good - the Mai tai's and the raw white fish appetizer were fantastic. We also had the falling lava dessert which was just ok. Maybe they just had an off night but for the prices they charge they should be spot on every night. It will be a while before we go back, except for their Aloha happy hour."

"Great service and amazing food. Andrew the manager was extremely nice and friendly greeting our table and presenting us a free amuse. Anthony our server was very knowledgeable and kept the flow of dinner going very well considering we had apps, entree( highly recommend the skirt steak my girlfriend had it and it was amazing even better than my surf and turf), and dessert. The overall experience was a treat, I think about 5 different servers stopped by and filled drinks, cleared plates and made sure everything was going well. I would highly recommend Roy's Tampa, because of the great hard working, team oriented staff."

"From the moment my husband and I walked in the door, we were thoroughly impressed by the staff and service at Roy's Tampa. The hostess was energetic and seemed generally appreciative for our patronage at the restaurant. Every single staff member that approached us throughout the night was very courteous and professional. Our server's name was Rachel and she was terrific. She was very friendly and prompt to take care of our needs. The food and drinks were terrific as well. While the drinks were on the pricey side ($10 for a small Jack-Diet Coke and $11.50 for a Mai-Tai), this was expected at the quality of restaurant at which we dined. The Shellfish Sampler was terrific, as well as the lobster potstickers! Definitely will come back to Roy's!"

"I think the kitchen was a little off tonight. The food has always been outstanding, but tonight one of our appetizer's was pork belly skewers that were nearly all inedible fat. The staff graciously exchanged this for a sublime shrimp appetizer, done perfectly. Also, one ahi tuna dinner which was ordered medium rare came out well done and the other ahi dinner ordered rare came to the table medium. Again, the staff graciously returned with our dinners as originally ordered, both excellent. This has never happened before. We love Roy's and will certainly return, but having 3 problems when only 4 of us dining was a shock."

"We took my mom to celebrate her 35th wedding anniversary (Dad is military and is overseas). They inserted a special anniversary message in the menu as well as put little confetti hearts on the table. Additionally they gave us an appetizer and a desert (with happy anniversary written on the plate)!! These awesome touches really helped my mom feel so happy even though Dad couldn't be with us! Thank you to the manager, our awesome waitress and waiters! Table was always clean, cups full, food was delicious (filet mignon, sushi, seafood trio)!! "We ate dinner at Roy's for my BF's 25th birthday party. The food was great and the service was amazing. They have a pretty large wine list and I really enjoyed their signature cocktails. Try the hot chocolate souffle- it takes twenty minutes to make and it is well worth the wait! Although, I wish it was bigger- it's not really sharable. Overall, we had a good experience at Roy's."

"We eat here every year when we come to Tampa for Spring Training. The food is always delicious. I had the butterfish and my husband had the short ribs. Both were delectable. I also had never had the lobster potstickers which we tried this time and they were amazing! We usually have great service but our server this time had some issues. First of all, he took our appetizer order and never asked if we wanted drinks. We had to tell him we wanted drinks when he delivered the appetizers. We also requested bread which he said he would have the kitchen put in the oven for us, but we never received it. Other than that, always a consistently good experience."

"It seems that in the past year or two, Roy's has been falling on some hard times. The experience has continuously followed a decrescendo starting out stellar, and now being just average seems to be just good enough. The sushi in particular used to be amazing. Now, I'd say it is slightly above average which is a true disappointment. The service is still very good, but the quality and portions seem to be going downhill and I think that it's just a matter of time til you're getting Publix like quality with their sushi.
I've had the Lakanilau roll (with wagyu beef) and in the last 3 times I left thinking to myself, I really should not be paying this much for this quanlity and this quantity of food."

"I celebrated my birthday at Roy's and they made sure it was special. They decorated our table with birthday confetti and inside the menu they created a personal birthday wish with a list of famous people whom I share my birthday with. At the end of the meal they brought out a cake that said "Happy Birthday" on it with a candle to blow out , plus on top of that the waitress took a picture of us and put it in Roy's special created frame. The manager also stopped by and wished me a happy birthday witch I though was very nice. So overall I had very good experience."

"All I can say is one word......SUPERB! All Around.....Everyone did an awesome job from the minute I stepped out of my car and greeted by Michael at the valet to the super service by Katie, the unbelievable salad and entree along with delectable deserts.
We were celebrating a Birthday and they honored the person with an insert in the menu recognizing them in a very special way!

"Roy's Tampa was an absolute breath of fresh air. I was so impressed by the level of service and attention to detail!
The food was great. The ribs and pot stickers are not to be missed. It was all so good that I barely had room for dessert.

"I walked in expecting a nice dinner, especially after eating there in Hawaii. The evening turned out to be not as nice as expected. The food was mediocre and the service was slow. Our waiter disappeared whenever we were looking for her and was nowhere in sight. The mango dessert was tasteless and too sweet. It was supposed to come al la mode. In my mind, that means with the ice cream on top. They also refused to bring me a mango mojito because I didn't have my ID, which was understandable, but annoying."

"I've eaten at Roy's before, in California, and the quality level is just as high here. The "Hawaiian fusion" food is a bit different than you will find anywhere else -- a great combination of flavor and a bit of spice, although some dishes are on the sugary or salty side if you are watching your diet. I had the "dynamite" swordfish [can't remember the Hawaiian name they use" and it was the most tender swordfish ever; these aren't dishes they are experimenting with, these are dishes they've perfected. Service was impeccable, and the waiter was perfect in asking about the food at just the right time, more like a fellow diner than an employee. Only issue: it is a bit loud."

"Our dinner started off a little rough. The server was new and should continue to shadow other servers for awhile. Once that got sorted out, this place completely redeemed itself. The management here is very good - they want you to come back. The food that we experienced was really different - many incredible flavors were layered and the presentation was amazing. We navigated through the starters, salads and specials menu. All top quality.
We will definitely go back!
**There was a large party fairly near to us that was quite loud and a little rambunctious - it would have been better for all dining in the area if this party had their own room. Keep that in mind when you are being seated."
