The legendary culinary vision of Roy Yamaguchi can be enjoyed right here in Sarasota. At Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, our menu features the finest seafood with a focus on delicacies from the oceans around Hawaii. Each creation is a fusion of flavors found in our freshest local ingredients with European sauces and bold Asian spices and served with the spirit of Aloha, creating a dining experience that leaves you feeling like you’ve found paradise. The Sarasota restaurant is located at the corner of Siesta Drive & Tamiami Trail, just minutes from downtown and features Roy's signature exhibition kitchen and chef's counter in addition to an intimate dining room and bar area. Chef Justin Fields brings his imagination and artistry to the plate every night. He trained at Johnson & Wales Culinary School and honed his skills at Roy's locations in Maui, Atlanta, and Naples before coming to Sarasota. "We had heard very good things about Roy's, so we thought that we would give it a try. We were very pleased with the appetizers (dim sum and potstickers). They were very light and tasty. The white wine selection was extremely limited, forcing a choice between approximately four varieties. For entrees, my husband had the Ahi Tuna which was outstanding. I had the shrimp which was very disappointing. The shrimp was dry and bland. For dessert we had the Peach-thyme and pineapple sorbet..both of which were bland."

"everything was perfect, good valet parking, good welcome, confortable seats, very intriguing menu, that only what to make me come back and try more exotic dishes, great presentation, good portions, very tasty food, good balance as fare as flavors, service was excellent, Nikky was very on the top of her game, very little wait, she answered all our questions kept our table clean, pay attention to our needs, she was always here but you could not see her.

"Went to Roys, not knowing what sort of food they served, other than it was seafood sounded unique and it was.
Everything was perfect, and we'd go back again in a minute if we weren't from out of town.
Their signature martini was to die for, the mixed grill of several different fish were all amazing, not huge portions, but we left completely satisfied.
Never been to Roys? Go, you'll be glad you went."

"My opinion: Promptly seated behind the sushi bar, which was occupied over capacity. The loud bar patrons and staff (not their fault) repeatedly bumped us in the narrow passage between the bar and table. Appetizer: The dum sum and mussels & clams hot pot were good; the shrimp salad and wedge salad were mediocre. Main: My braised pork shank was tender but nothing special, and my wife’s trout was just OK. Our guests had a filet and mushroom risotto: the filet was full of gristle and the mushroom risotto was tasteless. Dessert: chocolate soufflé and mango streusel-very good. Service: the good waiter was distracted by the bar patrons. It was irritating that the “happy hour” bar prices were only available at the bar (literally steps away)."

"Went to Roys to celebrate my Fiancee's birthday. I am not big on seafood, but she is. Personalized menus with a Happy Birthday message were great! Almost everyone in the resturant stopped by our table to wish her a happy birthday, which by the 5th person admittedly ALMOST got annoying, but that's probably just me, she very much enjoyed it.
Food: As I said, I'm not a seafood guy. My fiancee got the white bass and LOVED it. For me, I had the surf n turf, and was a little dissapointed in the steak. Very dry. Everything else was very good, I just don't reccomend the Filet.
Desert - we had the souffle...wow. To go to Roys and NOT get the souffle would be a shame, indeed.
Overall we had a great time, and will be back"
