"My family and I celebrated my birthday at Ruth's Chris and enjoyed every minute of our evening. It is a bit if a splurge because the menu is pricey but the food is outstanding. Our server made us feel special and was very attentive and gave me a complementary dessert for my birthday."

"This was the second time that they've been out of our favorite wine. "Franciscan Magnificat" Both times they said they had just sold the last bottle? That has never happened at any of the other locations and I have been a customer since my first experience around 1990, when I went to the one in Dallas when it was on Cedar Springs near Love Field. I have been a regular customer ever since. My wife travels weekly and comes in on Thursday evening. We regularly eat at Ruth's Chris in Austin after I pick her up at the airport. The waiter found us an acceptable substitute, but that was not our preference. The meal was outstanding as usual.."

"Went because we had a gift certificate. Service was nice but not polished (water and martini spilled across table by servers with neither seeming to notice). Atmosphere just seemed a bit chaotic. I think for the quality of the meat the prices were excessive. The $43 strip steak was just meh. Between 3 of us we shared the lamb chops (my son enjoyed) and the strip, a wedge (needed dressing and bacon microscopic), and 2 sides (onion rings were good), 2 martinis. Bill was $178 without tip. I really felt ripped off."

"My wife and I went on our second anniversary. The staff could not be more amazing. From being greeted and wished a happy anniversary from the person in the front. The waiter treated us with great respect and several times acknowledged it was our anniversary. It made dinner feel special and a night my wife and I will never forget. "We went for Austin Restaurant Week and were very pleased. For $37 you get a soup or salad (I chose the Steakhouse Salad and husband got the tomato basil she crab soup).
We both got the 6oz filet topped with 3 jumbo shrimp and a side (mushrooms for me creamed spinach for him) and dessert (strawberry chocolate cheesecake and chocolate covered almond clusters).
Quite a value and supports Meals on Wheels. One of the best deals I experienced this ARW."

"I took my boyfriend for his birthday. I had been here once before but it had been a while. When we first walked in the hostess was nice and seated us at our table (I had a reservation). The waiter was courteous and let us know exactly how things were prepared as well as suggested some very good items. The food was too good for words, very filling. It is a very expensive place. Well over $100 for the two of us, but worth it. I was there on a Friday night so it got a little noisy and crowded at about 9pm, but luckily the reservation was at 7pm so we didn't stay too long."

"FABULOUS as always! We have spent 28 or our 29 Anniversaries at Ruth's Chris in Austin. The only reason that we didn't spend the first one with Ruth's is that they were not open in Austin when we had our 1st Anniversary! How could you not love Bill Andrews & Co.?!? Not to mention the best steaks in the world, along with the best service! We spend every special occasion (birthdays, graduations etc.) at Ruth's Chris, if at all possible. Being out of town would be the only reason we would not be at Ruth's. Everyone at the restaurant makes us feel like we are family and important. That is what differentiates this crew from every other crew in Austin. Thank you Ruth's Chris-Austin for making many wonderful memories for our family!!! The McNutts"

I am not personally crazy about downtown and fighting the crazy traffic and parking situation (though they do offer a reasonable Valet Parking service) - wished there was a location midtown or North. "The have very good steaks at Ruth's Chris. Not excellent steaks. We had a gift certificate for this trip and did enjoy our meal and wine. But, it is way overpriced for the meal you get. Total with one class of wine each ($12 per glass) was $135 before tip. Pretty pricey. My opinion is that I'm willing to spend that kind of money on an EXCEPTIONAL dinner. "We arrived a little early and were happy to sit at the bar for a drink before dinner, but we were seated right away. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. The food arrived in good time and was cooked to perfection. We each had the Lobster Bisque to begin and it was lovely. We ordered the porterhouse for two and split two side dishes. It was all very good. Dinner was about $240. I would recommend it, but for $240 I could cook the same food just as well at home for two weeks."

"Lobster bisq was not good and difficult to eat. The filet steak and stuffed mushrooms were very good. The Maitre d was excellent trying to make the night special for 32 anversery. The waiter not showing focus on getting the table served and checked out in a timely mannor was not good.To keep the night consistent he requested taking the valet parking to bring car out. We walked outside 10 mins later and took ticket for the car 10 mins after that. Not sure the $$$$ paid i would visit again."

"The thing I love about Ruth's Chris is that it is always constant. If you order a medium rare steak, you always get what you order. The creamed spinach is just to die for and they have probably the best wedge salad of any place I have ever eaten. The servers are always attentive and they can handle a large dinner party with ease. I have nothing but high marks for this place!"

"Amazingly pricey. Food doesn't justify the price but... ambience is well above average. The cracked pepper cracker for the salad was more like a pepper shooter and shot pepper into my lap. The waiter didn't seem to notice and no big deal...just sort of sloppy. I'll be back ...will have to save up for a while."

"The room we were seated in was very noisy and made it difficult to hear the conversation at our table. The waiter seemed inexperienced and didn't have any suggestions for modifying the menu choices. I was disappointed in my overall experience and will not return."
