"also great service and excellent ambience. If you want to treat yourself to a great dinner, this is the place to go. Also excellent selection of wines. Not inexpensive, but worth every dollar"

"Prime Grade steak is not easy to find (even in Iowa), but Fleming's has a great selection and prepares it perfectly. The service was first class as well and attention to detail makes the evening memorable."

"This was a real disappointment. When one pays top dollar for a fine dining experience and gets far less it is not fun. $48 for a strip steak that was maybe 9oz.(they didn't state size on the menu)was overcooked and the peppercorn sauce was bland at best. The $9 ceasar salad was roughly the size of my palm and was OK but not great. I love technology but wine lists on ipads that are way to bright and the server feels like they have to explain how to use are annoying and unnecessary when the printed list is on the table taking up room. We were interrupted no less than a dozen times to scrape the table, receive an apology for a water refill that frankly, was very timely, and side comments or questions from the waiter. $137 wasted."

"Took an hour just to get our salads and they only gave one couple on our double date a box of chocolates. Very poor service will not be going back anytime soon."

"Do not need an Ipad to order wine. Would rather Flemings charged less than $10 for a baked potato. Ten dollars for one potato? Come on. Do away with the IPad and instead lower your prices to more reasonable levels."

"We arrived 5 minutes early for our 7:00 OpenTable reservation, and were immediately told that they were busy and running 15 minutes behind. As the very small lobby began to fill, it became obvious that there are preferences for getting a table, and OpenTable reservations are not preferred. After complaining about a large group arriving at 7:15 and getting seated ahead of us, no explanation was offered. We were finally seated at 7:30 as we were preparing to leave. The tone was set for the evening that even the excellent waiter could not overcome, even with an offered free appetizer thrown in for compensation. The food was good but not outstanding and the noise level was too high. We won't be making another visit."

"Our server Ryan Berg was absolutely outstanding along with the rest of the service staff (plus, management was very attentive). However, the feature--my filet (thin and overdone) & duck breast (hard and underdone) were contrasted by my date's perfectly prepared pork chop. The sides of lobster mac & cheese, bleu cheese mash were good quality and value while the appetizers, (crab cakes and shrimp) were just fair. I added an extra star overall for the deserts—the carrot cake (recommended by Ryan) was fantastic. There are far better places to eat in Des Moines proper for much less money, but if you’re stuck in the western ‘burbs and can tolerate the loud atmosphere and “après shoppers”, this corporate restaurant in WDM is a decent choice."
