"Our waiter, Greg was perfect for our table. My father in law was visiting from Florida but he is a native New Yorker. Greg was from NY too so we all had much to chat about. Derek visited our table to make sure everyone was content. We were. Thank you! We will look forward to celebrating another special event at Flemings in the future."

"Our family of four went. Service was great. Wine election outstanding. But the steaks were ok, but not as good as Ruths Chris or some of the other prime steak houses. Not aureus they are no longer aging the steaks or not, but they did not have the flavor I remember them having."

"This was our first visit to Fleming's, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff was friendly and helpful, and made us feel like VIPs. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and as we were getting the bill, the waiter brought out some sweets from the chef, a complimentary gift card from the restaurant and even a birthday card from himself! We will visit again for sure."

"I have visited the Flemings in Austin and was very pleased both with the food and the service. This was not the case in Richmond. I understand that the new mini pad, interactive wine list is cool but we clearly indicated to the staff that we weren't interested as I had my wine choice & my dining companion was having a beer. Technologically, I consider myself tech-savy (have all the latest toys/gadgets) and did NOT appreciate having to sit through a tutorial on how to use a mini-pad while I am at restaurant to eat dinner especially by somehow obviously not comfortable in using one. Bottom line: show the customer that you have the cool new thing but simply ask if they want/need assistance then LEAVE IT ALONE."

"Flemings provides good food in a busy atmosphere and probably does not need another review, they are what they are. Our most recent visit was more of the same, packed dinning room, unfortunately lots of kids this time. Excellent service of course and food was above average. Our scallop appetizer, at $19, had 4 small scallops on the plate- not special. Overly sweet burrato and tomatoe salad and we split a NY strip. STrip was excellent as it should be and cooked as requested. Baked potato was a mess and not really fresh. Our wine was Domaine Drouhin, very good but at almost $100 not worth that price. Again a fine meal but $230 for two - not worth that price. Used our dining card and gift card otherwise would have done another place."

"Our family has always enjoyed dining at Fleming's. But our past experience has changed our view on the restaurant. My mother was in town and we took her to Fleming's to celebrate. The whole experience was embarrassing. The service was slow and flighty (and it was a Thursday at 6:15 so it wasn't all that busy). We could have lived with poor service if the food were as good as we have become accustomed to at Fleming's. But it wasn't. We ordered three filets ordered at three different temperatures. They were all wrong. My wife and mother ate theirs because they were embarrassed to send theirs back. I returned mine (MR) and it later came back Medium - i didn't eat it. It's a shame that we have to write off one of our favorite places."

"Only steakhouse I've been to in the last few months where my filet mignon has fat on it that I had to leave on the plate. Overall a nice place but if you live in the area there's Morton's, Ruth Chris, Capital Grille, and locally Hondo's all within about 10 mins.
I will continue to go because it's convenient to the mall and just hope for a better steak next time."

"Overall pretty mediocre experience. Waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated, waited an additional 25 minutes to place our food order, then another 25 minutes for the wrong food to be delivered. Steaks were well prepared as you would expect from a $45 piece of meat, but nothing exceptional. I would say this place is a victim of its own crowded success. Some handle it well, Flemings doesn't. We'd rather spend a couple bucks more at Morton's or Ruth' Chris."

"This was our second time dining at Flemings. We had a choice of going to Hondos or Flemings and due to time contraints, we chose Flemings. The quality of food did not compare to our first experience. My husband ordered a NY Strip and I had the Prime Rib Dinner. My husband ordered his steak medium however, it was not until it was bought to the table did he realize how large a steak it was therefore, his medium became rare. He asked for the steak to be returned for additional cooking due to its size. When it was returned to the table, it had been badly charred and therefore, it diminished all flavoring and took away his appetite. The cream corn had a good flavor but was overcooked making it very chewy and sticky to eat."

"I prefer Flemings over RuthsChris. Always have. Diner for two with a moderate bottle of wine is easily $200. I think the steaks are slightly better than RuthsChris. However, at $200 a meal, it is hard to justify sometimes. Seems like even places like Long Horns have the high heat ovens these days and the steaks are pretty good. They are not the same as this place and the atmosphere at Flemings is significantly nicer. However, when I spend $200 for a meal, I really really don't want to see women chewing gum or men wearing jeans. I have similar complaints about Bonefish. A few years ago when the economy was better, you never saw that. Now, no matter where you go, no one dresses appropriately."

"We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. We were celebrating our daughters 21st birthday and sent a message through Open-Table that we'd like the Host / Hostess and the waiters to acknowledge her when we arrived. They did an outstanding job executing our wishes. The waitress was phenomenal, very attentive, quick yet didn't pressure us to eat quickly. The food items were all outstanding. My husband had the ribeye...it was excellent. I had the salmon with crab on top. The other dishes were very good as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in a romantic dinner, a special occasion or if you just want to have some very good food and wine. We were very, very pleased."

"Flemings has fantastic food and service. They make you feel special and appreciated. Although it is pricey and I can't eat there on a regular basis, it is worth it for those special occasions.
However, I will try to avoid eating in Richmond proper from now on as I realized there is a 6% food tax added on to the 5% sales tax. So my $220.00 food bill had $24.20 in sales tax. Supposedly this 6% tax was added six years ago to fund the Performing Arts center and was to be in effect for two years. Yeah right!"

"I've eaten at this Felming's about a half dozen times. It's been my go-to place for special events and in the past, I have found the service to be exceptional.
Arived promptly at 7pm on Saturday for our reservation and the place was packed. It took them 35 minutes to seat us and the whole time we stood in the crowded lobby area. Nobody offered to take our coats. They seated several people before us who came in after we did. They did appologize for the wait and give us a coupon for a free "small plate". Would rather have been seated on time or close to it.
Had to ask for water twice. Were seated off on the side in one of the event rooms - it felt awkward. Food was good, but I will not ever go there again on a peak day or time though"

"EXPENSIVE FOOD & WINE: I can buy most of these wines at other restuarants for substantially less. Steaks were just perfect and I guess you get what you pay for, and boy did we pay. Everything is a la carte. Place was packed, no ambiance. Open room noisy at best. If you want this kind of evening, this is the place. Black napkin offering was nice touch. Will we be back, only when flush. Still... to be seen, this is the place."
