"This was an amazing dinner. We came early in the evening so it was very quiet and we had almost the full attention of our server. I had the best salad ever it was a wedge, which is hard to do wrong but also hard to reinterpret. They placed a whole slab of blue cheese against the wedge of iceberg (I saved half of it for a yummy dessert with some of the bread). They also had a spicy piece of bacon on the plate which had a great balance to the dressing. I would come back just for this salad but luckily all of the food tasted as delicious. I regret not trying the Fleming potatoes from my husband but the way he talked about them I'm afraid I would have lost a hand trying to sneak a bite."

"It is a good restaurant but the steak was nothing to speak about. The quality and cut size of meat does not measure up to other well known steak houses. I found the service was less than expectation. The bread was not serve until we ask, long after we have ordered our meal. We have to ask for horseradish to go with the steak. The wait staff seem to be busy with other things during our meal. I think for the price I would expect more."

"So there is no lack of grills and steak places in the Bay Area, but Fleming's in Palo Alto is definitely one of the best! Everyone in our party of nine who were there to celebrate my wife's birthday really enjoyed their meals! The optional sauces, served on the side (very important!) were all very good and complemented the various cuts of perfectly cooked to order steaks!
Everyone's steaks were cooked as ordered. The service was EXCELLENT! One sign of good service is all our orders were delivered at the same time. I don't mean two or three at a time by one server, but rather enough servers to deliver all the dishes together. Never empty water glasses and just the right amount of attention made for a perfect dinner!"

"Can't go wrong with any dish and the service was outstanding. The ambient noise is on the loud side and the tables are kind of big if there are only two dining. Suggest sitting on the side of your date as opposed to sitting across due to the noise level and distance. This place was highly recommended to me by a friend and I would high;y recommend this place too."

"Everything was very good except the filet mignon was a bit too salty. My husband and I have cut down on salt in our diet and immediately notice when things have a lot of added salt. It was most noticeable on the top of the meat so I cut that off, but still could taste it, just not as much. The service was excellent and out waiter was very accommodating."

"We attended Flemings on Mother's Day evening. We made reservations and were not seated for 35 minutes. Of course it was a busy night but they were unwilling to accommodate a small request that they always have done in the past. The server, John, had an attitude and we were surprised as they are usually friendly and helpful. The food was disappointing as well. Perhaps they should do as other popular restaurants on special occasions and have dinner shifts, e.g. seating at 5:00 pm, then 7:00, etc."

"Even with a opentable reservation, we still waited for more than 40 mins. This never happened to me even with a much cheaper restaurant. So I don't think Fleming's Steakhouse knows how to treat customers and run a restaurant. The quality of the steak is good, but they don't know how to cook steak well. My mom ordered the bone-in ribeye medium, but got a almost rare steak. My sister ordered a medium rare peppercorn steak and got a medium well steak. We 4 people spent about $370 including tips but I don't think they are better than Black Angus. Sad..."

"Excellent steak quality. Sides are a la carte; therefore, if you order a steak (or any other main item), that's the only thing that'll appear on the white plate. Came here to try the steakhouse since I've always passed by it during my shopping trips at Stanford mall. My party was a bit disappointed the plates are a la carte. We are use to having variety on the plates and just eating a big steak which seemed like a pound worth of meat was a bit overwhelming. I also had the lobster tails that was a bit overcooked since it was not very moist/flavorful. Added a side of the sauteed mushrooms and the flavor of the pepper smoked cooking style is much too alike from the steak.
The free bread with the 2 kinds of spread was excellent!"

"My wife and i went here for our anniversary. The food was decent but not for the price. The service was really slow for a restaurant that was less than half full(now I know why). It was more than 5 minutes after we were sat by the hostess that our server greeted us and took our drink orders. I ordered a old fashioned, which took 15 minutes arrive @ our table. By the time i got my premeal cocktail, i was half way through my mediocre wedge salad. The final complaint, I brought my own wine, a 2008 Insignia, and they decanted it in a wet, steamy decanter. The wine so good I'm sure it didn't matter but it just shows the lack of attention to detail this restaurant posses. For the price, go to Ruth's Cris, Sundance, House of Prime Rib, Alexanders."

That being said, he was pleasant and attentive. It was the food that seemed to be lacking. "I was here twice, and ate different varieties of steak both times (and tried some of what my friends got). I tried filet mignon, which was very good at "medium rare" (but not so good at medium); I also tried peppercorn steak, which was not exactly to my taste - the pepper obscured the meat flavor. The signature side "Flemings potatoes" is good but it's so huge that I only ate a spoon or two of it before becoming full.

"I usually come to this restaurant on sunday since I love their prime rib. Their prime rib dinner only serve on sunday. My friend and I both order the same, mine is pretty good but his prime rib a little bit over cook. This is the first time they cook a little bit over, but I still want to give it a try next time. "Our main complaint is that they advertised one price yet they charged a different one that is higher by about 30 %. That makes the place quite expensive and over priced. We checked the on line prices before making the reservations. We also told the prices we found to our companions. Finding a price that so much more expensive put us and our companions in an awkward situation. Quite embarrassing.

"This was our third visit here, maybe fifth time at a Fleming's. It is always consistent. Excellent service, a nice evening out for meat eaters, but be prepared for pricey dishes. After a few appetizers, we had ribeyes and filet mignon. Everything was tasty and cooked to perfection, the service was very good, attentive but not obtrusive."

"A GREAT steak house. My husband had the best steak he has ever had and this speaks volumes. My daughter was going in for major surgery and we wanted to treat her to her favorite meal filet with chimichurri and molten lava cake for dessert -- they did not disappoint. She's still recovering from surgery and still can't eat solid but she wants to go there for dinner when she gets discharged fro the hospital."

"Always superb/excellent; not inexpensive, but food quality, portions, service, etc. make it an excellent value...indeed, a most satisfying occasion. Perhaps the best endorsement comes from the fact that every time we've been to Flemings Palo Alto the place is packed. Also, we're impressed with (& appreciate) how the Maitre D' is constantly working the room & monitoring the kitchen to make sure things are running smoothly + he stops at your table to personally check on things. "We had a wonderful experience at Flemings last Friday. We stopped in for a lite bite to eat and ordered two of the small plates for dinner with a side of lobster mac and cheese. We recommend all of the dishes. It was just right. Our server was wonderful."

"Received a $50 free coupon from Fleming's in the mail.We decided to give Fleming's a try.My Filet Mignon bone-in steak was tender but tasted burn and salty. My husband Pepper Steak was good.
When the bill came,there were 2 cocktails that did not belong to us included in the bill . Luckily, I caught the error. When questioned, our waiter William said it was the bartender who told him to add these 2 cocktails to our bill. But we did not even go to the bar! How dishonest could this bartender be? Finally, the error was corrected. We will never go to any Fleming's again. Bad experience!!!"

"Great place for a dinner meeting. Great food. You don't have to shout to be heard by other people at the table. The waiter does not rush you. From the time we entered, the hostess made us feel at home and so did everyone else."

"Had an excellent meal with my wife... I had their filet & lobster tail special for $38, my wife had the New York strip for a bit over $40. My special included salad and side and was an excellent deal. The wait staff was very attentive but not obtrusive and we were amazed with the number of wait staff. Flemings was expensive based on our normal outings but the service and food were fantastic and made it worthwhile for a special occasion. The total for the 2 of us was ~$150 including tax & tip (one glass of wine). On the downside, I would expect such an upscale restaurant to be much quieter, the ambient noise was quite high and not amenable to quiet conversation."

"Went for dinner with friends on a Thursday night. Place was packed. We were seated at a booth next to the bar and had bar patrons spilling into our table. After a long wait, we were finally greeted by our server and asked to be moved. We were moved to another booth. The new server took a long time before taking our order. When our food was delivered, my husband's swordfish was cold (it appeared to have been sitting for some time) and he asked for another. In the meantime, the rest of us ate our meals. When his new entree came, he swore it wasn't even swordfish but a flaky white fish. Would be nice if Flemings could provide a side dish rather than all being a la carte. Too expensive! Noise level was terrible - we had to lean in to hear."

"I had a wonderful experience at Fleming's. I went for my birthday, and they were very accommodating as my reservation changed a number of times and ended up going from 2 ppl up to 8ppl which was not a problem.
We all ordered steak and everyone loved what they had and it was all cooked exactly as we ordered it (med rare for me, was pretty pink so if you like it more cooked go med or med-well). The sides were all very tasty as well, and the creamed spinach and sauteed corn were the best I've had in a while. For dessert I had the chocolate lava cake which was incredible, and to top it all off they gave me a little birthday treat (truffles and a gift card to come back). I felt very special and will definitely be going back!"
