Don & Charlie’s menu reflects the kind of fine American dining that has never gone out of style. The most popular menu items remain USDA prime steaks; hickory – smoked BBQ baby back ribs and chicken; prime rib; and fresh fish.
Don & Charlie’s features a comfortable atmosphere with warm wood paneling, banquettes, and crisply white – clothed tables. The star attraction is the veritable sports museum housed throughout the restaurant. It is thought to be the largest collection of sports memorabilia west of the Mississippi. It includes literally hundreds of autographed bats, balls, jerseys, and photos from athletes of past and present. It is not unusual to see celebrity players from every sport dining at the restaurant.

"Although we arrived late the Hostess and our waiter were very pleasant and made us feel welcome. The food was well prepared, it was very tasty and the portions were generous. We will definitely be back. Anyone interested in sports will find this place to be a both a fine dining experience and a sports memorabilia museum."

"I have been coming to Don and Charlie's for over 20 years. I don't eat ribs at other restaurants because they just never compare to the taster here. The ribs taste as good if not better each time you go."

"Just love this restaurant....the food is such QUALITY . And...when you order a steak medium rare...it comes out medium rare...
Some of our favorites are...... bar b q chicken...fillet...prime rib...creamy coleslaw...mashed potatoes, etc;
Be sure to ask for either Pam, Maggie,Donna or Mary they are the best ever....
We eat here at least once a week and have been for over 20 years... It is hard to find a restaurant where the food is CONSISTENTLY good...."

"I thought it would be fun to have some ribs while in Scottsdale, and this place seemed like a good choice seeing that it had been around for so long. Must be a legend, right? It was very much a let down. I normally wouldn't complain about receiving too much food, but I think they are doing it to over-compensate for the quality. Bagel chips and rye bread.... garlic cheese toast by the pound.... a 15oz bowl of cole slaw. Then a full rack of ribs. The problem is that none of it was spectacular, just very mediocre. For dessert, the ice cream seemed like it came from one of those 2 gallon tubs. The place is also very dark with decor that hadn't been updated since the 70s. It looks like an old Ramada Inn from outside."

"Our son, a sports fan himself, was in town so we took him there to see all the memorabilia on all the walls. It was rather crowded the evening we ate so we were unable to check out all of it. Next time we will have to come when it is less crowded.
That night apparently there was some problem in the kitchen so our meal was delayed but we didn't expect to have 'fast food' so we were fine with it. We saw the owner pitching in to get things moving in the dining area. That showed us that he cared about the service for his patrons.
The meal was delicious and the table service was excellent - the waitress was pleasant, efficient and attentive.
We would go there again!"

"When my brother and his wife visited this weekend from San Francisco, I took them to Don and Charlie's for dinner on Saturday night. As always, the experience was perfect - outstanding food, great atmosphere, and impeccable service from both the servers and management. The ladies both had excellent salmon while my brother and I enjoyed the steaks, ribs and chicken. A few bottles of wine, lots of great food, some cocktails and dessert, and we had the perfect evening. I always bring out of town guests to Don and Charlie's, as the experience is consistently exceptional in a uniquely Phoenix environment."

"If you are from Chicago's northside, this restaurant is a must. If you are not living in Chicago anymore and crave the Chicago foods, this is the place.
We had BBG ribs, french fries, cole slaw and cheese bread for an appetizer.
The carbs just kept on coming, but it was all very high quality.

"The food was not horrible but not that good. We could not hear each other speak because of the noise in the restaurant. Service was poor. Maybe we just picked a bad time to go - it was the night before Mother's day and it was extremely busy. We were seated directly in front of the kitchen which made matter worse. The waiters and wait staff were always dodging our table."

"Wow! Even if you are not a sports fan you'd be impressed with the memorabilia that covers these walls. I told my family, the restaurant was the sports version of Planet Hollywood. The food was very good and plentiful starting with the garlic cheesy bread and shrimp de jonghe appetizers. The shrimp de jonghe had plenty of shrimp and the right amount of garlic and breading. I was in foodie heaven. Each meal we ordered came with a salad and side. We had plenty of food to bring some home to enjoy later. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We plan to bring friends and family back with us."

"Took my Father for his 81st birthday. He was very happy with the service, great food, and the restaurant in general. One of the Chefs came by to say "hi" and make suggestions on specialties that he created, like the salmon special that evening. My wife and my Step-Mother equally enjoyed the evening. "Food okay. We had a party of 4 and amazingly no one ordered a steak (at a steak house). I had the broasted chicken which was actually quite good. The ribs were okay but nothing special. Wife had chicken schnitzel--also quite tasty. My parents had prime rib and salmon--they said the food was good but again nothing special. We were there on a slow Monday night and service was okay but again nothing special. Our server was quite likeable, knew the menu well and served our drinks and food promptly. However, Even though it looked like there were more servers than guests, I never did get my water refilled. The sports memoribilia was extensive--I felt like I was eating in a museam."

"I had not been here for years as I live in NYC but the food is even better. I was disappointed that they don't have the lamb chops on the menu any more and the chicken liver they used to give gratis is now an appetizer choice. My expectation for good baby-back ribs, especially from a place like yours is tendor meat. Ideally meat that just falls off the bone.
