"This restaurant is usually very good. However, Mother's Day was very busy and although the table service was very good, the food took forever to get to our table. They ran out several of the desserts and the overall quality of the food felt rushed. A restaurant of this quality should not be experiencing these type of issues at anytime.
With that said, Fleming's still one of my favorite steakhouse restaurants."

"Went for Mother's Day. Place was packed! BBQ Shrimp was excellent, but they were our of the bread that usually goes with it. Everyone's meal was exceptionally good, except mine. Ordered my rib Eye medium rare, and they pretty much forgot about the medium part. Still good, just not cooked enough. To crazy to send it back so I ate it. Still good, just not the way I like it. Won't stop us from going again."

"We have eaten at Flemings for more than a decade and this is our usual spot. The quality of the meat and the preparation have been in decline and i have particularly taken note the last two times we have eaten here. Same with the service. Younger newer wait staff with much less experience than required at this price level."

"Excellent evening at Flemings! We didn't have much time for dinner, however it was an important evening, so we wanted to celebrate somewhere special. The service and staff were amazing and friendly - they completely accomodated us and made sure we were served on time and out the door as needed.
The food was incredible and I loved the chimichurri sauce served with my steak. We also loved the baked potatoes!
The salad was excellent - but probably too small to share, which we had done. We also enjoyed the warm bread served before the meal. Finally - the drinks were served nice and cold and the lemon martini tasted perfect!

"The food was exceptionally good. A special treat was the lobster mashed potatoes they had the night we were there. I would go back just for that. We were celebrating a birthday and they went out of their way to make it special. The waiter was attentive without being obtrusive."

"While the service staff here were all very nice and attentive, Fleming's missed the mark this time. We experienced several errors during our meal. A porterhouse ordered med-rare arrived nearly WELL done, although still juicy and flavorful. Also, there were some incorrect items on our bill. At this price point, I expect greater attention to detail. Should've gone to Donovan's or West Steak and Seafood up in Carlsbad for a higher-end experience."

"Everything was SUPERB! We used the interactive wine list to select our wine, but our waitress was VERY knowledgeable and able to answer any questions we had about the wine and food regardless. The service was impeccable; our waitress had a great sense of timing that kept the dinner flowing but did not rush us and allowed us to enjoy our meal and each other. Our food was just superb. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and will be back again!"

"We had a 5 p.m. reservation on a Sunday evening. We arrived at 5 p.m. on the dot. The hostess was rather clueless [benefit of the doubt, perhaps it was her first day on the job] and getting seated was very cumbersome. Guests with reservation times after us were seated before us, she butchered our last name [seriously, it isn't that difficult to pronounce] and overall the first impression wasn't great. The food was good, the wait staff was good - the restaurant is VERY noisy. Our dinner was more than $200 for the two of us [and you pay for parking!] - for that kind of money, I'll find a restaurant that is quieter and more intimate - one that supports having a conversation. Overall, good experience but I won't be back any time soon."

"we can only give our experience at fleming's 3 stars because that's what the food was. it was ok, nothing special. the prime rib was done as requested, and was pretty good, but there is better for cheaper elsewhere nearby and around town (the cut seemed a little too fatty for our taste). the fries were ok, slightly overseasoned, not bad, but not great. the bread before the meal was actually quite good. the lava cake after was rather drab. our waitress and the other wait staff were outstanding. very courteous, very prompt, nice, friendly, all you could ask for. we liked the lighting and ambience; it made for a nice dining experience. it wasn't super quiet, but it was a very good atmosphere in which to have a romantic date"

"Sunday prime rib special was incredible! The wine list tablet was a fun way to explore the expansive wine selection, with over 100 wines available by the glass! Definitely a nice way to try different wines. Only flaw of the evening were the sauteed mushrooms which were incrusted in pepper ... way too overpowering for the delicate flavor of mushrooms."

"Fleming's is known for their food, so I thought I would try the Surf N Turf. The filet mignon was thinner that I expected. It was prepared the way I asked, but disappointed it didn't look like the advertised photo.
Parking is probably out of the restaurants hands, but I can valet park on the beach for $4. Why should valet be $8 with no ambiance?
There was also a very loud table next to us. Shouldn't there be some sort of noise level each table should maintain? Fleming's is not a sports bar."

"High-end steakhouse, very pricey (with wine it can easily cost $100 per person), but a marvelous experience for a special occasion. All the food was delicious and the portions large. The service was impeccable - attentive without being obtrusive. The wine list is extensive, with more than 100 choices available by the glass so that you can have several different wines with your meal. Downside: the place is noisy."

"I picked Flemings to celebrate my husbands birthday. From the minute we walked in the door we were warmly greeted. When we were seated they mentioned right away that they knew we were there for a birthday. Our server, Eliza, was outstanding. She was very knowledgable of the menu and even made some recommendations. We ordered the rib eye steak and garlic mashed potatoes. It was perfect for sharing. The blue cheese wedge salad with camelized onions was wonderful. After dinner our server brought my husband a box of the most delicious truffle with a birthday candle! We even received a $25 gift card for our next visit. I highly recommend this restaurant! We can't wait to return!"

"While the service was exemplary, the food wasn't on par with the price tag. The calamari tasted OK, but the breading was quite heavy. The highlight of the meal was my spouse's bone-in ribeye which was executed perfectly and tasted wonderful. My entree tasted fine, but the shrimp on my mixed grill were slightly overcooked and one of the filet mignon medallions came well done rather than the medium I ordered. Worst, though, was the asparagus that my spouse ordered as a side. $10.50 for 18 pieces of asparagus and it hadn't even been trimmed. Imagine biting into a nasty, woody chunk of asparagus. Not appetizing at all. I doubt we'll return to Fleming's when there are better options available."

"I thoroughly enjoyed our experience especially for my wife's birthday. No complaints at all. I had the New York strip which was cooked to perfection. If you know steaks like I do a really great cooked steak needs no sauce (A1, Heinz etc). Great staff, we basically had two waitresses who did a more than excellent job checking on us regularly. Very impressed with our experience. Also met Casey the manager who stopped by to chat as well. He provided a brochure with a list of Flemings in NorCal. You need to check this place out, trust me you will be satisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"We were seated in the side-room with the fireplace, and that was great because it was more private and much quieter than the main room. The service was impeccable: everyone from the busboy to the manager was attentative without being bothersome. The food was perfect and plentiful. The calamari sauce had just the right amount of tang and sweet, the prime rib was cooked medium rare perfectly, and my wife's shrimp skewers were large and properly cooked."

"We LOVE this place!! The ambience is upscale and sophisticated but not over the top and "snooty." Bryce and Angela provided us outstanding service. "We hadn't been to Fleming's in a while and decided to go on a mid-week evening for a special treat. Well, the recession must be over because the place was packed. The food we had was very good. I think the only misstep was the service. We waited a long time for someone to bring us water (and bread) and to even begin to tell us about the menu choices. Maybe a little more off-putting was that the service was what I'd call "aggressively friendly". A manager came over right after we'd received our entrees for a five-minute chat, which is probably not a good idea. And after we'd paid the bills, the waiter shook our hands. What as that? Were we partners in that meal?"

"I've been to several Flemmings around the country and neither the service or the food at this one was up to par. They certainly weren't set to handle 16 guests in a formal way; I felt we were being serviced as at any catering place and not something special. The steaks looked overdone and the swordfish tasted like it had been frozen. (or poorly prepared).

"When we want steak, we go to Fleming's. The food is delicious and the service is attentive without being intrusive. Best of all, they're too classy to force the waiters to sing if it's your birthday.
Pro TIp: If you're getting the filet, get the big one. You get a significantly bigger steak for the $4 premium. They're happy to give you a doggie bag if you can't finish it."
