"I had the Rib chop ($66 rib eye steak), and wife had a $18 crab sandwich with crab salad. Hers was excellent, mine just good but not great. My steak was charred on the outside, which gave each bite a burnt taste. They've made it better before, but I didn't have time for them to redo this time as I was on my lunch break."

"Excellent atmosphere, excellent service, and above all - excellent food...what else is there to say... Your staff do really care to your customers. Though it was quite expensive, it was definitely worth it. I will be dining again in your restaurant in the coming future. I have been a regular customer in your restaurant (Seattle downtown) branch during the 1980's and do missed your place. I surely do missed your place."

"El Gaucho Bellevue is easy to walk to if you live in Downtown Bellevue. The service was outstanding lots of team work being used such as if our waiter was pre-occupied at another table his co-worker would check in with us fill our drinks, bring more bread, or just overall check in with us. There wasn't a time where we weren't helped. The food was amazing I highly recommend getting anything with Dungeness crab was the best I have had in years! The most amazing thing they did was after our dinner they provide a plate of special cheeses, fruit and crackers. Also, was amazing as this was a special occasion for my husbands birthday and they provided a complementary desert that was out of this world!"

"Beautiful ambiance, entertaining staff, professionalism at its best. Table side showmanship with flaming entrees and desserts super fun. And of course the food is just fabulous. Pretty expensive by conventional standards, but well worth it for special occasions or just a treat for yourself. We'll be back."

"Great ambiance, cold food .... surprising since there were few people in the place. Took 10 minutes to just get water, then, when the water arrived, the glass was 95% ice and 5% water. I had a sandwich and some remaining food, the sandwich was placed in the take-out box ... what happened to the rest of the food? .... Oh well .... disappointed and won't be returning."

"A very nice place and the lighting was great with the shades up. Wicked shrimp was outstanding but my Frenched rib chop was good but not great. Not what I expected for a place that had a Zagat rating of 27. Two people cost around $190 which is ok."

"The service was a bit slow...It seemed that the wait staff paid more attention to large groups than to couples. We requested for a quiet table but were flanked by families with children."

"Greeted by a friendly valet ,and seated quickly. El Gaucho has the dark old school steakhouse feel to it ,servers and staff are in black tux or equivalent . Very attentive but never rushed allows for a relaxed and personal dinning experience . The food was generous and outstanding with appealing presentation . We traveled 2hrs to get there for a special celebration and were not disappointed and will always put El Gaucho on our list of must return to dining spots. Thank You"

"I ate there for lunch and had the tenderloin steak salad. Two comments, the steak portions were skimpy and the meat was slightly overcooked. I asked for medium rare and I received medium. The meat also had that slight livery taste that beef has sometimes."

"The El Gaucho is a premier steakhouse in Bellevue. It is descended from the original El Gaucho, which was a legendary Argentinian steak house on Olive Way in Downtown Seattle with outstanding service and a flamenco guitarist. The Bellevue El Gaucho is OK. It is very expensive, even for a premier steakhouse. The service is acceptable but not outstanding. The wine list will bankrupt you. The "by the glass" wines that we tried were inexcusably poor. If I'm going to pay $25 for a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, I expect to have my socks knocked off. Well I guess I should have bought the Cab at $68/glass. The atmosphere is not subdued like the original El Gaucho; it is glitzy commercial."

"Although we met friends here for dinner, the lunch menu is amazing with the French dip. My last dinner here did not leave a good impression, but this last time was an absolute amazing meal. My filet was perfectly done and perfectly seasoned. Although we were sitting near the piano lady, we could still hear each other talk at the table. Our server provided great service and was very personable and accommodating."

"I had lunch at the Bellevue El Gaucho and it was terrific. We were seated after a warm greeting entering the restaurant. My friend and I had the fried chickrn sandwich which came with a cup of a delicious roasted corn and chicken soup. The food was excellent as was the service."

"This was our first time here and it was fabulous. The staff was very friendly and my water glass was always filled...most times without me even realizing they did it. The food was excellent! And what a treat to have table side service available. The food portions were generous too. Overall, my husband and I had a great date night. We will be coming back."

"First trip to El Gaucho Bellevue and know that it will not be my last. Food was really good. Service was outstanding. Manny our waiter and Lonnie who assisted both made our entire table feel like VIPS. Long dinner but the meal flowed nicely. Many staff members stopped by to launch, make sure wine glasses were full, and just to overall make sure we were happy. Prices were a bit more than I would have expected, but given the service don't mind paying them. One suggestion - the steaks were good but a bit overdone. Didn't complain as everything else was stupendous, but for the price should expect perfection!"

"My wife, our friend and I visited El Gaucho before going to Cirque De Soliel. My wife and our friend had the filet and I had the New York Bone in. We were all pleased, We had the lobster mashed potatoes and the broccoli. We really couldn't tell if there were any pieces of lobster in the mashed potatoes and the expected seafood flavour was mild. The bread was very good. My wife and our friend enjoyed two great desserts. Our server brought us some fruit on the house - a very nice touch."

"Food was great. The wicked shrimp, the corn, Mac and cheese especially. Service is outstanding. We truly enjoyed our server Darryl. Expensive to be sure but you get what you pay for. And the European cheese and fruit at the end of dinner is an especially nice touch! Outstanding!!!!"

"If it is your first time, you must at least get one thing that is on fire table side. The steak (even the filet mignon) is amazing. But either the chicken flaming skewer or one of the desserts are fun to watch set ablaze. The lead bartender ages the manhattans in an oak barrel himself"

"We dined at El Gaucho in Bellevue as both my wife and I were celebrating 40 year anniversaries; 40 years since my wife emigrated from England and 40 years since my release from imprisonment in the "Hanoi Hilton" in North Vietnam after a 6 year plus incarceration. Everyone at El Gaucho was genuinely friendly and willing to assist in any way. I asked the Maitre' de for a table far away from the music and he came through. Our waiter, Rudolfo, was superb. The NY peppercorn steak and the filet and prawns were outstanding. Nothing could have made it better. The complimentary desserts topped off an already unforgettable evening. "Thank you" to all inluding the chefs and Victor who set the tables."

"The steak was quite good, as were the wicked shrimp. Still a bit pricey, but cheaper than dinner. Not a bad choice if you want to eat at El Gaucho's but don't want to drop $100/person."

"This was great all around. Used the bar when we arrived 20 minutes earlier than the reservation. The bartenders were busy yet attentive. One of them took the time to explain how the fruit-infused margaritas were made as my wife enjoyed her blackberry margarita. The beer selection is lacking (about 6 draft, 6 bottles). I would like to see a few quality imports like Pilsner Urquell. We had the wicked shrimp (one of their specialties), steaks, and fantastic side dishes (roasted corn and lobster mashed potatoes) and finished up with the banana bread pudding. Everything was perfect (taste, temperature, presentation). While on the pricey side, this is a great place to spend a special occasion. We're already planning our next trip(s)."

"A great way to celebrate Valentines's. We went on the 15th and avoided the crowd so the atmosphere was really relaxed but still upscale and fit for the occasion. Great service with great advice from cocktail to desert. My husband wanted a banana foster for desert which is usually only serve for two but gladly prepared it for one only. Probably the best beef not just in town but in the country. El Gaucho has the exclusivity on the Niman ranch prime beef, all-natural meat, from traditionally raised livestock with care and respect."
