"The food is very good and the restaurant is comfortable and quiet - a hard find in NYC. This is the only Indian restaurant that I have been too where rice and condiments are additional charges. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and that makes it seem like your being nickle and domed. That being said, I always enjoy eating at Sapphire and have brought many people here."

"Not too crazy about trying to be seated at a crowded spot with the restaurant literally I empty everywhere else. But, the food is excellent.
This is my second time there. Both times the food was well cooked, with the one exception of the nan which was a bit colder and harder and older than it should have been. The service is ok- not too good and not too bad. The atmosphere is pleasant. Oh, and what the heck is this with paying extra for rice? This is an Indian restaurant. Just increase the price of the entree for gods sake. Geez!
Give it a shot. You may like it."

"We went to Sapphire for Saturday lunch and found that they offered a buffet. There was a wide variety of excellently prepared foods. We really enjoyed it.

"After we completed our entrees and our plates were cleared, we tried for almost 10 minutes to find our waiter to order coffee. When we finished our coffee, we tried for another 10 minutes to get our check, but the waiter was nowhere to be found. We finally had to summon the manager to get our check so we would not be late for a performance. This is unacceptable.

"Sapphire is a very competent Indian restaurant that is an easy walk to Lincoln Center. So if you like Indian food and need to make a curtain at the Met, it's a perfect dining choice. As Indian food goes, it's definitely a cut above. I've given it only 3 stars because it's not terribly inspired. You won't find anything all that different on this menu. But what they do, they do very well. Ambiance-wise, it's not going to win any cutting edge design awards so if you're looking for hip, trendy, inspired, this is not your place. But again, it's very comfortable and very quiet."

"Upon checking in we were told that we were a half hour late for our 8:30pm reservations. Not even a hello or welcome! Wow, I thought; that is really rude. it was 8:50pm and we were detained by the symphony performance at Lincoln center. It wasn't half an hour and there were plenty of space available in the restaurant. No one should be treated like that. i nearly walkes right back out the door but my froend really wanted Indian. Another party was going on across from our table and a small child was loud and unruly. TheFood was average and the service was ok. Not a fantastic night."

"I've been eating here for the past two years. The quality is absolutely consistent. The ingredients are always fresh, the preparation outstanding and the service caring and attentive. The atmosphere is comfortable and cordial, a place that is good to return to. They have the concept figured out at Sapphire and they deliver with delicious results. Highly recommended."

"We stopped in for a pre-concert dinner on a Saturday evening. We were seated promptly. The service was very good, efficient and solicitous without being overbearing. We had notified the restaurant in advance that we needed to be at Lincoln Center for an 8PM concert start, so we had no trouble making it there in time and service was nicely paced. The food was very good. We shared a couple of appetizers (which came with two different dipping sauces, both of which were tasty), chose two different entrees (Ginger Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo--very spicy!) and two side orders, naan and basmati rice. Portions are big enough to share. Would recommend this place to others who enjoy good Indian food and good service."
