As one of the best kept secrets in New York City, Gigino at Wagner Park offers a spectacular view of Lady Liberty and the New York Harbor. Owners Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have taken great pride in bringing Italian cuisine to Battery Park City for over five years. Nestled between the Ritz Carlton and the Statue of Liberty, Gigino can be found just a few steps south of The Jewish Heritage Museum. Open year round, Gigino at Wagner Park is a great place for a romantic evening or family get together.
"Service is terrible at Giginos Wagner. We live close by and go there very often. The hostes is awful. When we got there 3 front tables were empty. The hostes did everything she could not to seat us there saying tables were reserved... My husband called Giginos while we were waiting for a front table and the person who answered their phone said there were several front tables available, not reseved. If it weren't for the view, I would never go back to this restaurant."

"I would love to say that this is a fabulous restaurant and the view is also great but unfortunately at Giginos it's ONLY about the view. I have been there now several times and while the friedliness of the staff has definitely improved, the speed of service is awful. Every time we go there, we love the view and the outdoor seating right by the water looking over the Statue of Liberty but if it takes 40 minutes for your appetizer to come out during a quick business lunch or 45 minutes for a glass of wine at 6PM something is not quite right. The food is ok - average italian fare. If you go for the view, make sure you are not in a hurry and know that you will have to wait a while for your food and drinks."

"Food was excellent and service was good. We went there for a business lunch on a rainy foggy day, and still had a good view. It was slow because of the weather so your experience could be different on a busier day. This is a very good place to go if you are on business at BPC and want to go just a little "off campus". I would very much recommend this restaurant."

"Warming supper Sun and a nice Merlot dress the Statue of Liberty in a dark dress until sunset when she puts on her green one and lights the flame, long after the chef's has already gilded diners' tummies with tasty outdoor breezy Italian flavors. There's nothing like a bit of olive oil and Italian bread to whet your appetite while you gleefully celebrate your luck at finding this outdoor gem."

"I am not a foodie by any means... but in my novice perspective:
Amazing view of the harbor/Statue/lower Battery Park... it's like you're in the middle of one of the busiest cities and then have this private outdoor dining experience tucked away from the world...
I had the Gamberoni Positano (shrimp risotto with ginger carrot sauce)... absolutely amazing. Probably the best meal I've had in minimally months... There is something to be said for the fact I literally savored the whole thing (as I normally eat like I am fending off football players for limited quantities of food).
I cannot wait to come back on another warm night, watch the sunset and order exactly the same thing!"

"The location is a little hard to find, but completely worth the search. The portions are decent, not too much or too little, and the food is delicious. The service was good. I had reserved a table for 4, but at the last minute another friend joined, The staff accommodated us with a table for 5 with no problem....The view is beautiful! Just be sure to ask to reserve a table outside with a great view of Lady Liberty."

"Gigino was wonderful. The food was excellent and the view spectacular. We were sitted outside but at this time of the year they should really invest in some heaters. Got ratherchilly and breezy and the food cooled down in a hurry. I would definitely recommend andmake a return visit."

"Gignio's reminds me of a special European bistro. Even if you can't see the view, it's there. The food is gorgeously seasoned, appropriately sized, and the service makes you feel like a guest, not a customer. Four of us lingered and we were not rushed. One table next Tony's had a family, another a family celebration and we were out if town adults in search of ambiance, great food, and an experience to remember. We got it. Tricky to find, arrive early. It's in a brick, two story building that looks like a public place at which to watch sunsets and the Statue of Liberty. The sign is discreet, on a door in the lower left. Across from the Ritz Carleton, Gignio'is is tucked into this small brick building right next to the water."

"Amazing location looking out to statue of liberty. If you have reservations, it helps in getting a table with a view. It is a little overpriced, but you are in NYC and the food is very good. The only downside is that it takes a long time for them to serve the food."

"Our visit to NYC was in March, unfortunately way too cold to sit outside. At first glace this place doesn't look like much, it's a very small place. Our taxi driver couldn't even find it. On the inside there are just a few tables in front of the window, we were lucky enough to sit in front of it and enjoy the beautiful water and statue of liberty view. What a beautiful place to sit outside to eat in the summer. The food and service was OUTSTANDING!! I almost couldn't believe it...like I said it doesn't look like much when you walk through the door. The next time I return to NYC I will make sure this place is at the top of my list to visit again!! We walked to the 911 Memorial after so a great place to stop for lunch!"

"While perfect for warm weather evenings to sit outside and gape at the view of the statue of liberty, it is also good for Quiet for week day dinners during winter montsy when one can take advantage of the view from behind its wide glass walls. Not always easy to find unless one knows where to go -- just keep in mind its at the waters edge."

"The restaurant was absolutely freezing. There was inadequate heat and it shouldn't have been open during the extreme cold. There was a "curtain" in front of the door but it did nothing to keep out the cold air. The temperature was below freezing and felt it inside.
The meal was overpriced and absolutely uninspiring. The waitress didn't smile and if it hadn't been so cold we would have gone elsewhere. The restaurant has no ambiance except for a view of the Statute of Liberty. However, we were so cold the view didn't make up for it.
Would not return there."

"It was a brutally cold night when I was there, but I would like to go back in the Spring or Summer and sit outside. The view is spectacular. The food was very good with a nice selection. Service was a little slow, but there was a huge party going on so we were patient."

"Food was good. But they let us make a reservation when they had the whole restaurant rented out to a private party. Kind of awkward not to be able to speak during dinner because someone is making a speech. We felt so uncomfortable we asked for the check before desert and went out the back door."
