Gigino Trattoria opened its doors in August of 1994. The owners, Bob Giraldi and Phil Suarez, along with executive chef Luigi Celentano, have kept Gigino flourishing in the ever-changing Tribeca neighborhood. Chef Celentano creates both the menu and wine list, with daily specials of seasonally fresh seafood, game and vegetables. Gigino prides itself on the fact that all their dishes are prepared to order and almost all their pastas and breads are house-made. Fresh fish specials are featured on the “specials blackboard” daily, and it’s safe to say they also have the best pizza in Tribeca! Dining at Gigino Trattoria is a pleasure every time!
"It's a beautiful restaurant with a laid back vintage vibe, open space, appropriate noise level, and kid friendly without driving away the younger clientele. The food was on par with what you expect in an Italian restaurant, and the wine was lovely. However, the waiters not only tried to charge our table of 10 a 40% (yes, 40%) tip by accidentally applying the tip to the group bill, then to individual credit cards, but charged me twice for the same bill and have yet to correct the mistake, or apologize in any way even after multiple phone calls to the restaurant and bank. The only way I will go back is if someone else is being subject to dealing with the bill."

"We always eat there before a monthly jazz concert across the street at TriBeCa Performing Arts Center. Friendly staff. I enjoy the lentil soup and capellini sireneta"

"We arrived 30 minutes early for a 7pm reservation (we overestimated traffic) and were able to be seated immediately. The appetizers, wine, entrees and dessert were fantastic. As I was visiting family, the meal ran a little long. The servers allowed us to take our time and were not pushy at all. They will definitely see me here again."

"A great neighborhood Italian restaurant. Have always enjoyed the pastas and the pizza looked great. My friend who knows wine was surprised to see a super Tuscan at a very reasonable price."

"We have been here several times as we live close by, we usually go on a week night when our reservation time is honored within 15-20 minutes. We went this past week to celebrate a family mrmer's birthday on a Friday night and had to wait nearly an hour for our table. There was limited space to sit and wait. No drinks, not even water was offered while we were waiting. In addition, we had to send a dish back as it arrived unedible. They did remake it,,, but by that time everyone else was finished. My suggestion is to try this place on a Monday if Tuesday first. Stay away on a weekend day."

"This was my second visit and both times I could not find fault with anything. Saying that is especially rare for me. Its my new favorite downtown spot. My first visit was with a large group with no reservations. We were seated almost immediately and everyone loved their meal. Second visit was a table of three for an early dinner and again all three of us loved our food."

"Overall a good value family style restaurant. Reasonably good food at decent prices. I had the gnocchi and my wife had the garganelli. Not bad. Their salad "Saporosa" is really good. I will go again to try their pizza next time. It looked good"

"After two visits, we really like this restaurant and look forward to coming back. It's casual, relaxed but very professional. The food and service have been consistently good, and sometimes surprisingly so. The smallish wine list is very well selected covering a range of types and prices. The noise level has been moderate on our two visits. We'll definitely see you again soon!"

"Food was really good. We have two 18 month old twin boys, the staff was amazing servicing our needs. Menu is a bit large, but server knew it inside and out ... Great night before NYC 1/2 marathon"

"My wife and I had a great meal. I had the signature pasta dish and my wife had eggplant parmigiana and we each had a salad.Nice ambience, reasonable prices and good service. They should add a few more options for wines by the glass. Overall we loved it."

"The food was delicious and fresh. Our only complaint was the portion size as they were very small. The pasta dish and calamari portions were at best appetizer size."

"I was impressed by ambience and the attentiveness to detail from when my group was first greeted and escorted to the table through to desert. The waitress helped guide us through a vast array of menu choices. I had the Canelloni a la Sorrentino which was simple yet overpowerfully delicious. I would definitely return to test the other menu items."
