"We enjoyed the food and the restaurant. It was noisy but tolerable for such a busy place. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. We will come again; thanks for a good time!"

"H3 is a place where you can go for a first date to a nice lunch with friends to a romantic night out. The food is always delicious. You have a rustic feel to it with a touch of elegance. I would recommend this restaurant to first time visitors to the stockyards to Fort Worth locals. This is one place that needs to be tried once."

"Have been to H3 for suppers and breakfasts in past. Food was excellent and service was top notch back then. Breakfast today, however, with out-of-town family was disappointing overall: pancakes dry/overcooked; hash mushy and almost burnt; presentations bad; wait time, with a three-year-old was ridiculous, considering how few people were there, midmorning on Saturday. The waitress had a sour expression the whole time and seemed like she didn't want to wait on us; service was poor. Sadly, we were wanting experience to be a great one since we were celebrating birthday and anniversary that weekend, but our time at H3 this day was not a good one. I would give the place another try for supper in the future. Very disappointing for us."

"Took a group of eight there on a Wednesday night for steaks. They were steady but not very busy. Service by wait staff was superior but the hostess was young, clueless, and unfriendly. I have had better steaks there on previous occasions. Comments on the steaks from my fellow diners ranged from OK to very good. This is my second visit in 30 days and I would say the food quality is not like it used to be."

"I thought it'd be fun to get dinner in the stockyards with a guest from California. The ambiance was very western, the food was over priced for the quality/ taste. The steaks we just OK and the wine list was terrible. So if you want a good steak and wine combo, don't bother. If you don't have high standards for a steak house, then go here. I'd say it's good for families, the noise was very loud."

"My two teenage sons and my husband loved this place as soon as we sat down, my 16 y/o remarked on how comfortable the chairs were, and we enjoyed the light-hearted, hyper-western and humorous decor (buffalo hindquaters over the bar was a hit).
Our food was fantastic--the smoked sirloins were the high point of the meal, with melt "like butter" in the mouth feel and flavor. I had the trout, which was good enough (not the best i've had but enjoyable.) The sides were very good, margarita was huge. Our waiter was very friendly , knowledgbale about the menu, and patient with my 14 y/o who took forever to decide. Afterwards strolling around the stockyard area was great way to walk off a big, satisfying meal."

"This restaurant could be so much more if it knew what it wanted to be. After three visits, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the results are the same. A unique western style restaurant attempting to be upscale, but delivering less than a Cracker Barrel experience. Its menu selection is balanced and it delivers reasonably good fare. The problem is that the customer is setup for an upscale experience but delivered disconnected and inadequately trained service, loud background music similar to a sports bar or honky-tonk, and nothing memorable except the view of an open wood fired oven and historic surroundings. This restaurant is best suited for a casual lunch. At this writing there are much better options for breakfast and dinner."

"Dining in the stockyards can be pretty "risky", but H3 Ranch has always been very reliable...I think the food is great. I am a little disappointed that the red wines are served at room temperature, this in fact led me to choose a less expensive wine to accompany my steak."

"Went there for an early Mother's Day dinner. It worked out well and they had our reservation and we didn't wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. This is one our our family favorites in the heart of the Stockyards. It was extra busy due to the day it was but all the first d came out as expected and the service was good. The only downside was fitting all the dishes onto the table. We will definitely be going back again."

"I had visitors from Europe in town who were wanting to get a taste of Texas for dinner rather than going to a typical business dinner restaurant. H3 and the Stockyards area immediately came to mind. They had a great time with great food and commented afterwards, "This was perfect.""

"Bring out-of-towners here. My Denton friend wasn't familiar with the Fort Worth scene and was just in awe of the antlers hanging from the ceiling and the leather-bound menus. Steak was cooked perfectly and the taste was excellent, but I still have a hard time paying $38 for a steak. I also wasn't thrilled about the $10 queso, but that was my friend's choice, not mine. I've had the table side guacamole here before, which is excellent. The fact that they have local beers on tap was a big plus. I had the Revolver Blood & Honey (x3) - delicious. The server was a lot of fun and played along with our bad comedy. Overall, H3 is great local place I'll continue to visit for special occasions or as a treat."

"H3 is a great place to eat. Located in the stockyards of Fort Worth there is plenty to walk around and see and do. The food is great and the smell of smoking meat in the air will get your mouth watering. This place is a must for steak, smoked meat, or just good food lovers!!"

"For the 30+ dollar price for steak, the meat was terrible. Porterhouse was cut about 1/4 tp 3/8 inches thick. Sirloin full of gristle. Salads nothing special. Ditto on baked potatoes. Beer was cold. That's all I can say. Atmosphere is cool."

"Not bad if you want to go down to the stockyards. But there are some other options available. Like great hamburger places in the vicinity that would be just as "stockyardy". Don't go for the steak but maybe for the chicken fried steak type entrees."

"I was disappointed in the quality of the steak. $39 plus for a ribeye which had way to much gristle. When I completed my steak the pile of remains was ridiculous.
We had guests from Brazil and wanted to give them a flavor of the "stockyard". I was a bit embarrassed by the steaks."

"In town for business for the week and a coworker highly recommended the H3 Ranch to our group. A good bit more expensive than our typical fare, but we splurged on our last night in town. It was SO worth it! We ordered 2 orders of prime rib, one Ribeye, and one Filet. Everyone at the table raved about their steak. And the potatoes were incredible!"

"We enjoy the casual laid back feel of this place with its reclaimed wood floors, western motif and the open fire pit adds a warm glow and great smells throughout the restaurant. We have visited this restaurant on many occasions because all the steaks are great and always cooked over an open fire to perfection. The salad dressings are all homemade and for starters both the fire roasted salsa with chips and the table side guacamole are both great. The salmon cooked on a cedar plank is great but even more special during the short period of time when the Copper River salmon are available. The service as always was well-timed and friendly, and an added bonus is free valet parking."

"Only problem was we had a reservation still had to wait an hour for a table. Finally asked the hostess what was going on she claimed she paged but the pager never went off. Never left waited right by the front door the whole time and was a bit rude. Our server was absolutely amazing and perfect got some drinks at the bar and service there was awesome as well."

"Ambience, eh, noise level more than moderate but the food and service were outstanding. Best steak I've had in a long time. Considering that we're talking about a steak in Texas....it!s well worth the noise and lack of romantic ambiance. Will definitely celebrate more occasions there."

"Our service was extremely bad! We initially had a party of 4 then we changed it to 6 which was no problem. We were seated on time. We ordered drinks and they took quite a while to show up and when they did one was missing and we had to reorder because waiter forgot what was ordered. Next the girls ordered a margarita (2 girls did) and once again one was missing. She had to reorder as well because for some reason the waiter didn't know if it was frozen or on the rocks. This took quite a long time as well. Last but not least, we ordered our food and upon arrival one of the girls orders (steak medium well) was completely missing. This was once again reordered and brought back out, but it was extremely rare. Bye this time everyone else finished"

"My best friend and I went to H3 for our Valentines dinner. We had already decided what we were going to get to eat. When we got there our waiter told us they were out of almost everything and that basically the only things left that were any good were the $58.95 and $59.95 steaks. I found it hard to believe that they were out of everything but the expensive stuff. And the place was empty the entire time we were there. We feel that he was not truthful to us and got as much money out of us two young ladies as possible."
