The Californian fusion cuisine of the Zagat rated La Scene Café and Bar represents the popular tastes of San Francisco with a robust blend of cultures. Chef Jose Aviles brings together the best local ingredients and elements from California to create his tasteful menu. La Scene is an intimate restaurant with a very comfortable and pleasant ambience. La Scene is the ideal venue for a casual dinner with friends and family or simply indulge in a glass of merlot or a martini at the La Scene Bar. It’s centrally located near Union Square and is right in the heart of the theater district. La Scene offers a prix fixed menu from 5:00pm to 10:00pm at a special price of $38.00 plus tax and gratuities.

"A nice selection of dishes for brunch. Mimosas were included as part of the brunch. We received complimentary refills of Mimosas though it isn't advertised as such. The poached eggs on one of the Eggs Benedict were overcooked, while on another one they were poached nicely (runny). Service was friendly and accommodating but the waiter mixed up the orders. He made up for it by adding complimentary sides."

"La Scene is the perfect place to have an excellent dinner before attending one of the several theaters close by. The menu is interesting and tasty, the service is personal and good, and the ambiance is relatively QUIET (a vanishing characteristic of San Francisco restaurants these days). "7:00 PM on theater night not a good time for a quite, leasure dining experience. The staff was overwhelmed trying to get the crowd out in time for their shows. Unfortunately for us, we suffered through an evening of rushing wait staff and irregular attention. Thank goodness the food was very good."

"The bar tender we were told was new. She had NO idea how to make a cocktail, several attempts failed. The wine was excellent there was nothing she could do to ruin it.
Service was extremely slow. The wait staff was running around rapidly but food was not coming out. I believe the problem might have been in the kitchen. We finally had to summon the manager and were finally taken care of by him. When making the reservation I stated that we had theater tickets and requested rapid service. It did not happen! Things were so bad that the manager arranged for a percentage reduction in our bill. We will never go again prior to theater but the food was worth another visit if one has time to put up with unbelievable delays in service"

"We had reservations, we arrived on time, our table was ready and were seated immediately. The waitstaff showed up immediately, were courteous and helpful. MY Scallops were very good and her crab risotto was delicious. Two excellent dinners, a glass of wine, a coffee and an espresso all for less than $100.00. All in all, we will definitely return."

"We needed to take out some clients after an event on Valentine's Day. They were staying near Union Square and La Scene had an opening at the right time. Unfortunately, prices were jacked up because of Valentine's Day but the staff were very charming and the food was fine. We've eaten here in the past before seeing a play when the prices are more in line with the food. The table by the front window is really separate and wonderfully quiet."

"Intimate, quiet restaurant in the Warwick Hotel. Outstanding service from the waitress, Attentive but not hovering. Menu was a little limited. Scallop, steak, pork chop, and ravioli were all delicious. Allowed to linger and visit with friends we haven't seen in a long time."
