"As soon as we walked into the restaurant we were overwhelmed by the smell of fish. Not a good start to a meal where you are expecting fresh fish. We decided to stick it out as it was our first visit. We were shown to a nice booth with a view of the Hill Country, but the speakers blared with blues music...not conducive to a quiet,relaxing dinner. The food arrived, and the fish (sole with lemon butter)was thankfully not fishy, and the filet was cooked properly and flavorful, though unseasoned. Salad (apple/beet) was unremarkable, the bisque (lobster) was good, and the creme brulee was excellent and quite a large portion, I might add. Overall, I feel that are other restaurants that would deliver a better meal considering the price paid."

"We love Eddie V's as a special occasion experience. While it's too expensive for us to go often, that does not mean it is not a good value -- the care devoted to the preparation, presentation, and quality of food and drink make it a great value. The food is excellent, the servers go out of their way to make your experience not just good but great, and there is simply a happy "vibe" to the place. the one thing we don't like is the proximity to dining neighbors -- don't expect to have a confidential conversation here, and do expect to have the opportunity to chat with those around you, because the seating is crowded. But don't let that stop you from enjoying an exquisite dining experience!"

"OK, so I would honestly say that the dinning experience was OK, at best.. first the view was OUTSTANDING, and the overall enviornment of the resturant was LOVELY! however.... When you pay over 200 dollars for a meal you expect things to be perfect,it WAS NOT! Our waitress was nice with a good attitude, although she was not very attentive, and her helpers were HORRIBLE AND RUDE! Our waitress' helper brought us the incorrect appitizer, and when I asked what it was because we did not order it, she chuckled and said OH, then walked off. Anyway, the steak was good, and the MACARONI, was AWESOME! I will say that we will not go back just because if I am going to spend that kind of money I would rather eat at Ruth Chris'"

"Our Appetizers were the Kung Pao-Style Calamari and Maryland Style All-Fresh Lump Crab Cake, Both were excellent. The calamari was a large appetizer and was more than enough for 4 people. I shared the opakapaka with crab with our son's girlfriend and it was crispy and perfectly done. My husband and son both had steaks and they were both very tasty and precisely done. Our sider were the steamed broccoli with Hollandaise and the twice baked potato. Both were excellent. My husband especially enjoyed the potato. For dessert we shared bananas foster and the hot dark chocolate Godiva cake with ice cream. The servers were very good. We will be back!"

"Roger, the maitre d’, was so welcoming and I was truly impressed that he remembered my name from my past visits. Also, Eric, our waiter, was very attentive and ensured that we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The food was mouth-wateringly delicious and the wine was delightful! Way too often, customer service has gone by the wayside, but not true at Eddie V's. This was an incredible experience that we plan on repeating again soon. Thank you to everyone at Eddie V's for making our night such a special occasion!"

"My husband and I went to Eddie V's for my birthday, but did not mention it when we made the on-line reservation. Our server asked if we were celebrating anything special, and he told her it was my birthday. She gave me a dessert on the house and was extremely pleasant. It was presented beautifully with a candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate. I absolutely love the food at Eddie V's, and in my opinion it is the only place in Austin to go for a celebration and intimate dinner (we were at the Arboretum). Thank you for a wonderful dining experience and we positively will be back!"
