Clyde's of Reston
Clyde's at Reston Town Center has mahogany and leather booths, antique model planes, boats and equestrian artifacts. Outdoor dining next to the Pavilion April thru October. American-style Saloon menu. ***When our patio is open, it is seated on a first come first serve basis.
We gladly accept reservations for parties of four or less through the Open Table website, if you are looking to join us with a group of five or more, please contact us at 703-787-6601, and we will be happy to accomodate you as best as we can!

"I love how Clydes changes with the seasons! The May halibut special is delicious! Really enjoyed the barley and ramps. Also enjoyed the pickle jar. Please keep that option on the regular menu. Surprising was the daily soup of korean broth with chicken and vegetables. Very tasty... Glad you had a bit of Siraha for me to spice it up a notch."

"Clyde's always offers a very nice menu selection where some favorite dishes are always available, and other new ones are introduced. Food is delicious, service is outstanding, and it's the place we go to routinely for a special occasion. Would definitely recommend Clyde's to family and friends."

"Been here many times. First, I get annoyed when making a reservation- confirming the reservation- showing up on time and having to wait 15 minutes before I am seated. Happens all the time at Clyde's. Food was better this go than usual. Nothing special. We'll be back because we live around the corner and this place is kid friendly."

"My reservation asked for a table near a window and Clyde's honored that request without being reminded of it. The server was polite, prompt and checked back with us periodically without making us feel pressured. The food (both of us ordered fish dishes) was cooked perfectly and tasted great and was priced reasonably. Overall it was a wonderful dining experience."

"The ambience and noise level were outstanding. Other than having water on my seat when I sat down from the "pourer" the service was excellent. My dinner guest order the calves liver and it was superior. I ordered the shrimp and scallops which was a little more "peppery" than I prefer but I ate everything but the scallops which were not so appealing.
All in all a great night of dining as expected at Clyde's.
My wife and I have eaten at the Towers Oaks Lodge several times but this is the first time eating at one of the other restaurants.
Would definitely eat there again but would order something different."

"Compared to the Tower Oaks Lodge, this one is major disappointment. Mediocre food and a disinterested server put a damper on our anniversary dinner. The screaming child sat near us at the end didn't help. Servers that are actually helpful with dietary needs are a necessity these days. The girl we had couldn't have really cared less. A friend with food allergies recommended this place to us but the server was very unhelpful, made no suggestions or any attempt to help pick something to eat. She did verify with the chef for allergens, but after the dedicated gluten free menu and spectacular service at the Tower Oaks Lodge branch, we'll go there next time, even if it an hour away."

"Brunch was great, good menu selection plus fun specials for cinco dr mayo. The complimentary coffee cake was a pleasant and delicious surprise. We brought my 5month old daughter and were offered a high chair but she can't quite use one yet so we were able to keep the stroller at the table and then when we weren't using it our server offered to place it aside for us. We had seen Belgian waffles on the online menu but they were not on the menu that day. When we asked our server about it, she offered to check with the kitchen to see if they were available. Even though they weren't, it was nice of her to check for us. We live in the town center so Clyde's is very convenient and I always know we will have a good meal here."

"I guess Clyde's has been around forever because it is consistently good. I have never had a bad meal here, and it is a regular go-to place. It can get loud in here, there was a table of 10 teenage girls next to us, very enthusiastic. So while this is not necessarily the place for a quiet romantic dinner it hits the spot when you don't feel like making too many decisions and just want good, dependable food and service."

"I had been to Cylde's before a few years back and the food and atmosphere were good, but this time was a different story. The restaurant was loud to the point where it was difficult to talk across the table of 4 and then to top it off the food was not good, especially when considering the price."

"We have dined at Clyde's in many areas - McLean, DC, Ashburn - but we live near Reston Town Center so Clyde's of Reston has been a much enjoyed mainstay. We had such bad service on our last visit that we won't be going back,at least for awhile. We also cannot recommend it as our friends count on us to give them top-notch recommendations. Our credibility is on the line.
We waited 15 minutes for service. Then, when our appetizer finally arrived - after another 15 minutes - we barely started on it when our meal was unceremoniously dumped on our table. The server seemed clueless - somewhat distracted. Maybe he was having a bad night & we paid for it. It only takes one bad experience for my husband to decide not to spend money there again."

"We've dined at Clyde's several times now and have found the menu to have good variety. The food is always well prepared and the service is top notch, pleasant and seems to be at just the right pace, with rare exceptions. My roasted mushroom quesadilla was outstanding and made it easy for a meat eater like me to go without for a night. My girlfriend ate her Spring Gnocchi like she was going to the electric chair. She'll get even with me for saying so.... On-line reservations made it even easier. Highly recommended!"

"My wife and I have been customers at Clyde's of Reston for nearly two decades, but I must inform you that my selection of your monthly special, the Strip Steak, was not up to your standards. Aside from the bone, which is expected, I was unable to eat about half of the "meat," because of the inedible gristle and fat. Further, my wife's meal was a bit spicier than she expected. So, on the whole, a disappointing night, although I repeat that such a disappointment is rare in our experience at Clyde's."

"Good food as always. Not great. Just good. But consistent. Stay with the staples like burgers and steaks and you should be fine. The salads are good also.
The more exotic dishes lie pasta and fish are just ok. But if you want seafood go to a seafood restaurant and pasta at an Italian restaurant."

"In our opinion, most restaurants appreciate reservations made through Open Table. However, dinner at Clydes would appear different. At first we were seated at a table next to an open door to the smoking section. There was a strong breeze and the smell of cigarette smoke. When asked if we could be moved, the host said all the booths had been reserved (we saw many empty booths) and the door would be closed in 20 minutes. We waited for about 15 minutes and our waitress finally appeared and we said we'd like to be moved or have he door remain shut (staff was constantly using the door). She found a booth in which we were seated. However, service from that point on continued to be slow. The food was fair. We will probably not go back."

"I have eaten at Clyde's in Reston many times. This is the first time in memory that I had a bad food experience. I ordered their special "NY Strip Steak" medium rare. It came out medium well. Hmmm... the server was insistent if the steak was good. I really didn't answer, but she saw that it was not. She was very polite and said she would immediately get me a new steak. Wow.
Unfortunately the kitchen let her down. Next steak, at best, was medium.
BTW, the wine list had a 2008 Carmenere "Calcu". A very nice bottle. And reasonably priced.
Yes we will return again, but this one was a disappointment."

"Made a reservation for 2 for lunch and I was "on the list" but the table that the hosts had reserved was occupied. Took 4 laps around the entire restaurant with 3 different hosts before I was seated.
No bread offered.
No drinks refilled or offered.

"We had a great time at Clyde's of Reston on Easter Sunday. Despite it being a busy time to come in, the service was outstanding! The waiters were totally on the ball and very attentive. It was a nice touch having the Easter Bunny there also to greet the kids. Great job! We had a blast."

"It was Easter Sunday, so the restaurant was crowded (to be expected). We had to wait 10 minutes or so beyond our reservation time -- there was no comfortable place to wait since it was raining outside, and the crowd waiting for tables was sizable. Once we were seated, the wait staff was very nice, friendly and efficient -- well done! We appreciated the hot-cross buns that were brought early on (and which were delicious). The brunch offerings, frankly, were disappointing -- too few brunch items in general (with lunch menu still offered), too many items with crab, too few with eggs (e.g., omlettes with more options) -- and the food itself was just so-so. Our dinners at Reston Clydes have consistently been better than brunch."

"We went to Clyde's of Reston for Easter Brunch. Food was terrific, especially the Eggs Maryland. The highlight was seeing the Easter Bunny hopping from table to table, passing out jellybeans and posing for pictures with all the kids (and even a few grown-ups). It was sweet and made for a lovely day of good family memories."

"We usually like Clydes and have come here for Easter brunch before and had a great experience, but this time it was overbooked and understaffed. Even with a reservation we had to wait about 1/2 hour, and then finally accepted a table that was too small for us because they were still seating people who had earlier reservations and if we didn't take that table, we would have had an even longer wait. The food was very good as usual, but they should plan better for busy holidays."

"I noted on the reservation that it was one of our party's birthday. The server asked and this was confirmed, and that was it. No special dessert, no candle, no happy birthday. Nothing. Very average food. Service was subpar, very inexperienced. There was nothing special attempted for this special occasion. So I would not recommend a Clydes for special night."

"I ordered the Kansas City Strip Steak. The meat had so much grisel, bone and fat there was barely any edible portion. It was cooked properly, but the particular portion I was served was unacceptable. I frequently order steak at restaurants. My wife and I had chosen Clyde's of Reston to celebrate the birthday of a friend who is a retired school administrator and I did not wish to create any unpleasantness, so did not mention the poor quality of the meat.
This is not at all typical of other meals I have had at Clyde's which were always excellent. I do not know what happened in this case.
The service was excellent. I enjoyed the wine as well as the cheese sampler tray--very delicious.
