The food at Wild Ginger spans the Pacific Rim from China to Indonesia. We pride ourselves on offering traditional dishes from these distinctive regions and insist on house-made ingredients. Chefs make spicy chili sambals, fresh coconut milk, delicate egg noodles, and our pungent oyster sauce all from scratch. To achieve the sublime flavors of the East, there is no substitute for the time-honored customs of these rich and ancient cultures.

"The perfectly designed flavors will have us coming back. Pan fried sea bass for me, seared tuna for my husband, grilled asparagus and a flourless chocolate torte made for a tasty celebration. The service was flawless, just attentive enough. The gluten-free options were clearly labeled and I didn't feel like I had to settle. We had a lovely evening and look forward to returning."

"My friends and I love going to Wild Ginger for lunch, however, I am always slightly amused (or maybe slightly annoyed), that even though I make reservations ahead of time, I often seem to get a less than favorable table. I recall one time being sat at a tiny table for two in the front window squeezed in by a very large, and very noisy party; this time we were taken to the furthest table from the reception desk, next to service tray jacks and somone's scooter (seriously). Neither my guest nor I are large women, but they actually had to adjust things so that we could get into our seats.
Again, I love Wild Ginger, but sometimes get tired of sitting in the hinterlands."

"We really enjoyed the food at Wild Ginger (particularly the chicken potstickers) and the Pomatini and Coconut cocktails were really delicious. Our server was very nice and took one of the mango mojitos that we ordered off the bill because they were too sweet for us; however, the service overall was quite slow as our server appeared to be serving too many tables."

"I went with work colleagues for lunch for SRW. The food was delicious. But our waiter seemed to think that it was all about him. When he brought water to our table, my colleague was talking. Rather than wait seconds for an appropriate break in the conversation, our waiter wrongly seemed to conclude that we did not want to order and went away. He ignored us for several minutes (5-7?), did not look in our direction while I was trying to catch his eye. Eventually, he came back and rather rudely introduced himself. He also told us the SRW menu would be tough to do in an hour (we were then down to 45 minutes). By putting out the appetizers & main course together we finished in time but the attitude of this waiter took away from the experience."

"This was probably my fourth visit, even though I'm a "tourist" in Seattle. Must say, I thought the appetizers were better than the entrees this time; the black pepper scallops were plentiful, but a bit chewy and smaller than I expected. The potstickers, however, were to die for!
Great drinks too--nice suggestions from the waiter. There were 4 of us, and he was very patient waiting to take our order, because we were blabbing so much!"

"We had a fairly large group (6) but our waiter handle our table with efficiency and good humor. Since this was a group of seniors and we were eating early, the restaurant wasn't too full, but we had a few rather demanding people in our party and he was very polite and attentive to their wishes. The only downside to the dinner was that this took place during "restaurant week" which offers special pricing for a 3 course dinner. I felt that the entrees offered were somewhat uninspired considering Wild Gingers reputation for innovation. But overall it was a good value and we had a very enjoyable dinner."

"Wild Ginger never disappoints! The food is fresh, innovative and inviting. The menu has such great variety that anyone, including vegetarians and vegans, can find delicious, reasonably priced cuisine. They have gluten-free options, and they offer different types of rice (I prefer brown). Our server was wonderful and made spectacular recommendations, so we ended up splitting several dishes and got perfect portion sizes - wild boar appetizer (tender, seared perfectly, hint of actual boar and not covered with sauce), duck - beautiful , baby bok choy and an incredible Thai mussel dish that we couldn't let go of (we were sitting by the window or I would have licked the bowl). Very conveniently located. I will go back again and again."

"Server we had was horrible - let us sit at the table without even bringing water for about 15 minutes. He took his time bring items to the table, even leaving our drinks at the bar for a good 10 minutes (the drinks were watered down when they arrived from the ice melting). I have never had a bad experience here before so hoping it was just this specific person having a bad night. I let the front desk know on my way out."

"The food was amazing. I had read recommendations about their signature dishes: the duck and the beef. My son and I love duck so we usually order it in restaurants that have it, and I was prepared to be disappointed. "We had a fantastic experience during our first visit to Wild Ginger! Our server was friendly, fun and professional. She made the event special and exciting. The potstickers were the best I've had in my entire life. I would come back just for those. The decor was elegant, chic, modern and energetic - which is hard to pull off. All the food was flavorful, not over salted (as many American-Asian restaurants can be) and overall it was a fantastic dining experience. We can't believe we hadn't been to Wild Ginger after living in Seattle for 14 years, but we will definitely be back soon!"

"We like Wild Ginger. The reason we don't go more often is because we can rarely find street parking and $11 to use the garage at Triple Door really adds to the tab. This time we went because friends were in town visiting. We got there a little early, and within 15 minutes were seated. This time we had a booth and because of the tall backs the 5 of us felt like we could have a private conversation-- which was wonderful. "We went to Wild Ginger before the Seattle Symphony, and it was a very busy Saturday night. The food was fantastic! We ordered the Seven Flavor Beef, Lamb Zedang, Roasted Beans and my wife ordered a tofu curry (don't recall which). The meals are served on plates and it's normal to eat family style.
The ambiance was good. On this particular night, it was packed with people mostly going to the Symphony or another downtown event. Although there are some rather secluded and very romantic tables in the restaurant, I didn't note on the reservation to request one, and we ended up at a fine table, but it was a table for four in the center of the room. So, I advise you request a small table in your reservation for a more romantic experience."

"We seem to go to Wild Ginger every time we're in Seattle and we're always glad we did. After 20 years they still have every dish perfected, not a wrong note anywhere. We had the chicken pot stickers (outstanding!!!), the salmon in coconut curry sauce, wrapped in a banana leaf, steamed & grilled (sorry, forget the name but to die for!!!), the prawn satay, the duck (OMG!!! so tender! Skin so crispy!) and the sea bass (with fresh herbs and crushed peanuts - perfection!!!)and honestly, everything was absolutely delicious. This was the highlight meal of our 3 day visit - just can't recommend it highly enough."

"I'm from Asia so I'm especially fussy about Asian food, but Wild Ginger didn't disappoint. We had the beef satay, soft-shell crab tempura, salt and pepper shrimp, grilled seabass, otak-otak (grilled fish in banana leave). While the flavor is different from what you find in Asia, perhaps because it has been tweaked for the American palate, quality is surprisingly good."

"Our server was very pleasant and understood we were in the middle of a business lunch which avoided alot of interruptions which was fantastic. The food was delicious. "Wild Ginger certainly lives up to its reputation and provides a nice Asian vibe without going overboard. The food was somewhere between Thai and Chinese and exemplifies fusion of Eastern food at its best. The server was attentive and changed out silverware as we went through the courses. Try the coconut gelato which was very refreshing with a dusting of finely ground toasted coconut over the top. It’s a nice compliment to a cup of Starbucks coffee."

"We ate here 2 times thus week. Both times the food was excellent. Service and ambiance were fantastic the first time, but this second visit we were seated at a table in an out of the way area with service still good but not as attentive. Although a large table was seated in the same area we felt isolated from the main dining. It basically felt like overflow seating."
