"I loved the salad bar options. Smoked salmon and cheese were my favorite salad bar options. Everything looked fresh. The meat cuts were excellent. The meat servers were very attentive, friendly and even asked my group if we preferred another type of meat besides the one he had available."

"The bartender was more like a busboy and didn't know any drinks. The waitress barely greeted us and didn't check on us. The meat had so much salt you couldn't taste anything else. This restaurant was awful."

"Well, this is definitely a meat lover's paradise. I am not a huge red meat person, but love it here. All cuts of meat are delicious and well presented. Also the sides are quite good. Its a solid place to take a group as there is little to no wait for your food and it has a lively atmosphere. We had a birthday here and it was perfect."

"We were seated promptly after arrival on the second floor overlooking the first. Service was thorough for the first 20 minutes we were there (around 6pm), but as several large groups settled in our selections and service became sparse. We were asked what meat we were looking for and we responded pleadingly that we wanted the ribs, but more than a half hour later and we hadn't seen them in sight. However, just as we decided to give up and our plates and utensils were removed, the ribs appeared at the table next to us.
The mixed drink we ordered was well-made but the polenta side dish was unimpressive. Overall a satisfactory experience but by no means "wow-worthy.""

"What more can I say. Sure, the meat is good, but really, for this much money (at least $50/head before tax, tip, drinks, and dessert), there are so many fantastic local restaurants who deliver so much more in terms of flavor, creativity, service and ambiance. I guess if you like the canned, costume-y, buffet chain shtick this would satisfy that, but really, really, I implore you: if you can afford fogo de chao you can afford any of the finest restaurants in dc. Please, pick up a copy of the Washingtonian and go to one of their recommendations instead."

They even had a salad bar only option for our non meat eater that included a fish in a red sauce that was pretty darn good. The drinks are great too. Could go just for that! Will return!"

"This was our third visit to Fogo de Chao. I'm not always in the mood for all that meat, but its always good! I absolutely LOVE the salad bar!! The fresh mozarella and proscuitto are my favorites. "I'm afraid that Fogo de Chao are victims of their own success. The restaurant was very crowded on a Saturday evening, leading to the waiters being overwhelmed. For a dinner in this price range, I certainly expect more from the service than what was provided. This is unfortunately NOT a place providing value for money, at least not on a busy evening."

"I took my kids here for a birthday, and they loved it. I don't. The salad bar is okay, but salad alone costs $25. The meats come at a dizzying pace, and I really get kinda grossed out by it. But it sent my son in law into a food coma, which he loved.
the reality is that this place is great for people who can gorge on meat, but it's not especially good or interesting food. It's simply an upscale and expensive all you can eat.
I'd much rather eat something interesting."

"If there were room, I'd fill this entire box with superlatives, but I can't think of enough.. Simply put, the food and service was absolutely incredible. Far beyond what I was expecting. I can't wait until they open in NY in October. This is a MUST see when you're in DC."

"I go for the incredible salad bar. So many wonderful choices. I never have room for the meats. The salad bar has salmon, cheeses, chicken salad ,bacon and prosciutto to choose from. All the greens are fresh and well stocked. Side dishes are delivered to your table to enjoy with your salads.
If there are non meat lovers with you they will love the salad bar. The meat lovers will be in heaven. enjoy"

"Everything was excellent! I've never been to a restaurant with better service. The different types of meat were all teriffic and the salad/cold bar was good and had a nice selection. The quality of all the food on the bar was very fresh, too. And I could have eaten a whole basket of the cheese bread -- so yummy! Perfect for special occasions."

"Overall had a decent experience at Fogo de Chao, but nothing to rave about. We had a 7:30 but we weren't seated until 8. Granted it was a Saturday night and it was really busy. The meat was SO SALTY!!! The RIBS were fantastic, but everything else was literally covered in salt. I almost wonder if they do that on purpose so that you drink more water and get full faster. The best part of the dining experience was the huge salad bar; if I went back I would stick with the salad bar and skip the meat. The sides that come with the meat are okay, the mashed potatoes and polenta are pretty bland, but the carmelized bananas are delicious! Service was very good."

"This is not a restaurant for very good food or very good service or very good ambiance unless you like being squeezed into a table, rushed constantly, having waiters ask the same questions over and over again, and not being given enough time to even look at the wine list.
Noisy, crowded, with some good food like the filet mignon and lamb chops, but overall not worth the price unless you are with a big group and someone else is paying."

"Great food. I originally went to the one in Los Angeles, CA. The meat is always amazing. I was a little disappointed about the salad bar, not much choice and a lot of the sides had dressing. The cheese bread is amazing, best I've had so far. The dining experience was amazing, ALWAYS make a reservation a couple of days in advanced, it was really hard getting a reservation for Friday, and Saturday at any time before 9:30 pm. If you're a meet lover you'll love the food."
