"2nd time here. Liked it both times. Upscale, subdued but not formal or stuffy. Very nice views of river, especially for tables at lower level by windows. Excellent wine list. Food generally well-prepared but nothing too unusual or exotic. Free valet parking. Would go back again when in the area, as I don't think there are too many other such nice choices nearby."

"We had a nice, romantic dinner on a Tuesday night. No entertainment that night, so it was quiet. Pretty river view from most tables with a picturesque riverwalk available if you finish early enough.
Seafood platter was superb - succulent lobster tail, huge scallops, large shrimp, with salmon - not the typical talapia or haddock.
Prime rib was very good though a bit of grizzle in it.
Calamari was loaded with fried jalapenos, not our favorite. (Didn't know it was a Mexican dish ;). Red sauce was bland like Ragu. White sauce had too much lemon. Not recommended.
Service was very good. All staff pitched in when needed. Waiter was obliging and took pictures of us. If it's a special occasion like ours, let them know - nice surprise for you."

"Rays came highly recommended for the food service and ambience. There were two couple in our party. We arrived a little early so we decided to have a cocktail while waiting. The house wine, a cab was excellent. Unfortunately for us an old employee of Rays came by and sat next to us so we had to endure endless high fives from the existing employees. After a few loud "whats up bro" or "How's "Chops", and the best "How did you get a job there". The bartender seemed annoyed that we were interrupting his social time with the former employee. At any rate the house cab was excellent.
Swordfish was excellent, Scallops were excellent. Horseradish grouper was terrible. You can get better fish at Captain D's"

"Food was great but priced such this restaurant is still best saved for special occasions. It is a good value for those who really appreciate great seafood since it's hard to find quality seafood in ATL.One of the better wine lists I've seen in a while ranging from very reasonable to very high quality. I'd recommend reserving a private dining room for any group over four since as the noise level is very high in the main seating area. Otherwise is was a great experience."

"Truly Rays on the River has to be one of the BEST quality restaurant experiences in the Atlanta area! The facility is gorgeous inside and out. Outdoors are scenic views of beautiful, well maintained, lush landscape and the peaceful Chattahoochee River. Inside, its chic, contemporary elegance meets fine dinning. The food is EXQUISITE! We were there to celebrate my Partners birthday, and he had the seafood platter (prepared Blackened) which is hands down the BEST in Atlanta. I had the pork chop, which was cooked "medium well" to perfection! That's a lot being that I don't like anything that isn't cooked "well done". This was our first dinning experience at Ray's and trust me, we will DEFINITELY be returning very soon! Bon Appetit!"

"Three out of our four meals were excellent. One person, however, ordered a steak medium rare. It came out medium well. When he showed it to the waiter, the waiter took it and promised a replacement. After a long wait, another steak arrived, this time ice cold in the middle. My guest returned it and did not eat dinner. The manager said we would be credited for the steak, and offered a gift card for future use, but when the bill came, instead of crediting the steak, another steak was actually added to the bill. This was quickly corrected when I pointed it out to the waiter.
I have eaten at Ray's many times and I am a member of their dining club. I have always had excellent food and service. It is embarrassing when these events occur."

"The buffet for Mother's Day had a lot to choose from but it was lacking on seafood. The cold bar was good. The fish and pilaf were both cold, the shrimp & grits were all gone. My biggest complaint is that most of the hot items were not even warm."

"Well we didn't have to wait over an hour. I was told by someone that even with a reservation we would have to wait, but was only about 15 min. They had complimentary valet and they were packed. Given the large number of people I think the food was varied and quite tasty. There was certainly something for everyone."

"The ambience is very nice with a great view of the river, but for $40 a head the food was good but nothing special. The french toast was dry, the eggs were overcooked, the flank steak was dry. Chicken tenders are macaroni and cheese are good but not worth that kind of money. The desserts were pretty good but rather limited (almost all cakes). For $10-20 less a person it would be perfect but their food used to cost less and be much better several years ago."

"My husband and I went for Mother's Day Brunch. The seafood was awesome and the dessert was excellent. The service was not as expected. The waiter Mike approached our table uninviting and very aloof. I ordered hot tea and all I got was a pot of hot water and after asking for a tea bag twice I finally got it. Mike never asked how the food was and if we needed anything else. Pretty poor sevice from the waiter."

"Although the taste of the food that I could eat was very good. It was very limited. Especially, if you are not a big PORK eater such as myself. The desserts were alright at best. The cakes were very cold and came off as store bought instead of fresh from the oven. In my opinion, with the expansion; the buffet became limited inside of the compact area it was in. And the quality has declined. At the price point for this brunch, it should have offered more."

"We enjoyed an early Mother's Day Saturday evening. We had comfortably unforced and friendly service that was informative, sociable and bright. She may have been oversat as she didn't appear quite as quickly as we might expect. Our food was unanimously excellent despite my stringent dietary limits. All were of very high quality with appropriate portion sizes. The live music in the nearby bar provided music without overwhelming conversation. One minor call out was a bit excessive air conditioning which left us all chilled by the end of the meal. So we gave four stars on the service due to minor delays and also on the ambiance for the cooler than desirable temp. Overall, however, thank you for a wonderful evening!"

"wonderful food. The steak and seafood perfection. Our first waiter didn't have much personality and thank goodness he got called away because the two ladies that took over for him were AWESOME. Think Lynn (was her name) and her partner made our experience very enjoyable. They were amazing. The wedge salad very good the blue cheese dressing wonderful. we split it and the kitchen brought out on separate plates. my Delmonico steak very good flavor - cooked exactly as asked. grilled shrimp - huge and very flavorful. my mother-in-laws fried shrimp and father-in-laws organic chicken breast were a huge hit. husbands tuna perfectly cooked and very flavorful. very nice meal."

"The hostess was not the friendliest and a bit rude which set the tone for me. I didn't get a welcoming feeling at all, however the food was good and very pleasing to the pallet. The atmosphere was nice and inviting. Our server was very patient and sweet, she really took the time to accommodate our questions and made sure we enjoyed our dinner. (the server is the reason for the 3 stars instead of two)"

"I was very disappointed with Ray's on the River for Sunday Brunch. I made a reservation in advance, but still had to wait 20 minutes before we were seated. The hostesses looked flustered, confused, and unhappy. They didn't even smile or make our party feel welcomed. What a disappointment! The food was nothing to write home about either. The selections were few, and I do mean few, and the service was an even greater disappointment. Our waiter rarely came to check on us. For $30 each person, you would think that you would recceive a better and more enjoyable dining experience. NOT! I wish we would have gone to IHOP instead! This place only looks nice. I won't be back anytime soon, that's for sure!

"I am a timely person, so I left home early for my reservation. The line leading into the restaurant took 30 minutes to reach the valet. There was a short wait to be seated. However, once we were seated, I noticed that there were plenty of vacant tables, so I am not sure why there was any wait. Once seated, it took the waiter about ten minutes to finally ask if we needed any assistance. He was very abrupt and did not explain that only brunch was being served and that you could not order from a menu. If I had been a first timer, I probably would have left. The restaurant staff needs to assume that everyone is a first time visitor and explain the only menu choice is the brunch and should explain the route to the brunch. ."

"We recently celebrated our Administrative Assistant's Appreciation Day there for lunch and enjoyed the experience. We requested a view of the river and got it. The food, food presentation, and service was five star. The ambiance was great and the experience. It was our first time there and all that we've heard about this place was accurate and true. Thanks so much for an excellent experience and we will be back again with our friends/families."

"This was my first time at Rays on the River and I loved it. The service was great. I was raining she we got there but the valet had umbrella waiting. I order flowers and it was on the table ready set bam. Our meals were on the mark -by the way I had the biggest grilled Hawaiian frest tasty fish I ever had at any restaurant. We had a great time.
