Seafood Buffet (Deer Valley Resort)
TThe Zagat Restaurant Guide lists Deer Valley’s Seafood Buffet in 'America's Top Restaurants’ – and after one visit, you’ll understand why. Seafood Buffet offers a grand feast of crab legs, Pacific white shrimp, house-smoked salmon, fresh oysters, glazed scallops, seared ahi tuna and so much more as the menu changes weekly. Savory prime rib, roast duck, a variety of salads and hot appetizers are also offered nightly. Be sure to save room for visits to the dessert bar, where homemade confections will satisfy even the strongest sweet tooth.

"Who would have thought you could get top quality seafood in Utah!? I must admit that this was our second time at this evening conversion of a ski lodge into an upscale buffet. They added a harpist which really improved the ambiance. This is a tremendous treat for a special occasion. The variety is adequate that everyone in your party will find fare to their liking. There are selections that the non-seafood person would find acceptable such as prime rib and duck. I also need to mention the attentive service. You go away feeling very well cared for during your time."

"The concept is great but the seafood was very flat. As locals, we visit the seafood buffet every ski season. This most recent trip, the service was very good as usual but the dungeness crab, king crab, seared tuna.....---all tasteless. Not sure if it's because it is the end of season. A disappointing visit."

"Quality and quantity of seafood cannot be beat. And not just the raw bar and sushi, but also imaginative entrees and delicately flavored salads. It's in the main floor lunch rooms of a ski resort, so don't expect a romantic atmosphere, but if you love seafood, you'll be in heaven."

"Absolute phenomenal service by the staff. This was our wedding anniversary dinner and it was a great choice. They sat us near a window and by the fireplace. In addition to the normal selection of delicious desserts they staff also put together a special "Happy Anniversary" dessert plate for us. Thoughtful, very attentive."

"Celebrated a special occasion here recently. Staff was excellent! The cold buffet was our favorite with 2 types of Pacific Oysters, Alaskan King and Dungeness Crab, nice cheese selections plus more. The hot appetizers were not as interesting: pork ribs, mussels (my husbands were served without any broth), clams (mine had plenty of broth and were delicous). The hot entrees were interesting: succulent scallop, 3 types of fish: Ani Tuna had a VERY quick sear, 2 fish not served with wonderful sauces and one was overdone.Lesson to be learned there: ask for additional sauce and they will gladly accomodate! Wonderful desserts!Plan to spend a bit of time!"

"Good food, but king crab legs were not of good quality as they weren't very fresh and relatively small. We ate there 4 years ago and the legs were much bigger and not filled with the solution these legs were. Service also a bit slow. Still a fun dining experience and we'll come back."

"....and "seafood" is only a small percentage of the extraordinary offering!
Forget anything you have ever heard, seen or known about "buffets". This one outdoes them all! The variety of choices is beyond anything you have ever seen. The quality and taste is beyond anything you have ever seen. The presentation is beyond anything you have ever seen. Deer Valley was voted the #1 ski resort in North America 5 years in a row. (Slipped all the way to #2 last year.) The extraordinary food service is one reason for that rating. The Seafood Buffet leads the way."

"If you like a raw seafood bar, then this is the place for you. I think I at my money's worth it the 2 different type of oysters, 2 different type of crab and jumbo shrimp. They serve sushi grade tuna steaks cooked to order. I didn't really have room to try a lot of the hot entree, but the prime rib was really good. For dessert, try the snowball, it's amazing, kind of like a chocolate truffle covered in whipped cream."

"The raw bar seafood was unbelievably fresh given we are a long way from the ocean. The oysters were to die for. The shrimp were so fresh. The thing I kept going back for was the Dungeness crab. I only give it four stars because the cooked items were just not that good. They cooked ahi tuna to order and that was great, but the items already cooked and being held warm were either over-cooked or just not that good. The buffalo slider i had was scorched and dry. The ribs not very good, the asian shrimp and the hawaiian escolar were over-cooked. Bring a big appetite and stick with the cold or cooked to order items and you will be very happy."

"Natural Bar (cold seafood) and Sushi Bar were good. Hot Bar and Grill Station were disappointing. Best items on the entire buffet were the two salad choices. Service was prompt and courteous, although we grew weary of hearing the waitstaff say "Excellent" and "Perfect". Our one visit satisfied our curiosity; overall food quality was no better than other upscale buffets/brunches. A good portion of the $64 price tag is for the ski resort location and the advertising in local restaurant magazines."

"We have been to Deer Valley's Seafood Buffet many times and this did not disappoint. They turn the ski area cafeteria into a nice, mountain resort restaurant. The food is always outstanding as is the service. Deer Valley is known for it's fabulous service and wonderful staff and, again, this is no exception. The buffet includes everything from sushi, fresh cold shrimp, crab legs, oysters to hot food choices of both seafood, duck prime ribs and amazing desserts. It is pricey, but worth every penny! This year we took my niece, her husband and 2 children and everyone raved about the experience."

"I have been traveling to Park City/Deer Valley for many, many years and wouldn't dream of missing an incredible dining experience at the "Deer Valley Seafood Buffet". I actually told a bus driver last year that I only visit to dine at the "Seafood Buffet" (although the skiing is pretty fabulous as well!!)

"You don't come to Deer Valley just to eat, but if you do come, eat here at least once.
The best of FRESH seafood; oysters, crab, shrimp, and other raw bar specialties.
Excellent selections of appetizers, from steamed mussels and clams to ribs.
Great Entrees; duck, rib roast, lobster mac and cheese.

"Everything was impeccably fresh and exquisitely prepared. Service was spot on. If you love fresh seafood, this is Disneyland and you are seven years old. It's that good. Pricey to take the family but worth every penny."

"I was very unimpressed with Seafood Buffet. There was not as much fish/seafood choices to choose from as was described. The ambiance was less than fair. The displays of food looked like a cheap buffet. There were VERY limited gluten free options and I was told there was a lot to choose from. I would definitely not go back nor would I recommend it."

"We have been to the Seafood Buffet several times in past years but we found it to be absolutely wonderful this time. The food was amazing -- especially the oysters -- and the waiters were very attentive. It was a great experience even for our 3 yr. old granddaughter. We will definitely go again."

"We have enjoyed the Seafood Buffet many times. The food is amazingly fresh and delicious and the selection incredible. The presentation is beautiful as well. The servers glide effortlessly from table to table, always in the background allowing for a very private, romantic meal. We will definitely return each time we visit Park City!"
