"La Veranda Osteria has the magic touch to blend all the elements that make lunch perfect. I often meet west-end clients and work colleagues at La Veranda. I take the subway to the Royal York Station. They drive in from Oakville, Guelph, Mississauga, wherever, and conveniently park at the Green P across from the restaurant. I have not had any one say anything but great things about La Veranda, many adding that they will return during the evening and/or weekends with their spouse or significant other."

"We were a group from work and there was not one complaint about any of the food - the appetizers - (especially the mushrooms were amazing) - everyone enjoyed their main course (and even were still talking about it the next morning) - and the desserts right down to the coffee were delicious. Definitely would go back."

"Took my mom here for an early Mother's Day dinner and we had a great time. Most of the staff are delightful and the great personalities match the vibrant food.
The main course was delicious I recommend the pollo alla Gorgonzola con fungi - trust me its worth breaking your diet for."

"I love this restaurant. I was there in Feb for my birthday brunch with some friends and we were totally impressed with the food and the service. This time I was there for dinner with the same friends and we couldn't believe how good the food was. Their attention to detail also made for a wonderful dining experience. Can't wait to take my husband there as he is a chef and enjoys a good culinary experience."

"It was a very nice dining experience. I find that it gets quite loud after a certain hour and it is hard to carry on a conversation unless you are speaking loudly.
I would love to consider it for a special occasion but get the sense that there is no privacy for groups other than at the back of the restaurant.
All in all, would definitely come back for another meal! Thanks so much!!!"

"La Veranda always hits just the right note. It is local for us and we walk down. The owners are consistently present and greet patrons with a pleasant smile and hello. The staff is attentive without being overly so. We were a party of four. Three of us had the sea bass which is wonderful and cooked just right. The fourth the veal marsala which was also just great. Salads are plentiful and my husband had lentil soup which he declared was excellent. It is a gem in our neighbourhood which serves a prix fixe lunch as well and is very successful. We often have lunch or dinner here with friends as it is so convenient and reliable."

"The food is authentic and tasty. You can tell there is nothing frozen or reheated, all fresh ingredients. Service is always prompt and courteous. Some of the portions are rather small for the price point. I got this veal in a sherry/brandy sauce with delicious veggies. The menu said it was 7 oz's but I don't know how, it looked very lean and not a lot of meat and the veggies were even a small portion. Other menu items are bigger. The deserts are really good. For two appetizers, a caraft of wine, two entrees and two deserts, it was $111.00 with taxes. It isn't something I could afford on a regular basis, but it was good food and La Veranda has pre set menus for lunch that are more reasonable but I really enjoyed the dining experienc"

"We went for a Valentine's Day dinner and though the restaurant was full to capacity, the service was pretty quick.. The servers were pleasant and the food tasted great... even the vegetarians had a lot of options. Would definitely recommend and will myself visit again. Though I felt it is a little bit on the expensive side... but worth!"

"I found the food OK. Not incredible. The special pasta got good reviews from 2 in our group of 8. The pizza and pasta with tomato sauce that the kids had was good, as was the brusquetta. I had a fish entre with veg that they were good enough to alter to exclude potato. My husband had lemon veal that he was not very impressed with, he was also very disappointed that they would not sub gnocchi for penne. Every other Italian restaurant that we have been to have been very accommodating in this respect. Seems like a simple request. There was also a minor problem with the bill that was fixed but it took a bit of time. For the price...not worth what we paid...probably would not go back."

Reservations were for 7:30 pm, and we informed one of our lady servers twice that we would like to take our time in between our initial drinks, appetizers, main course and our dessert. However, the courses kept on coming out one right after the other. It was not busy so the rushed service was not necessary."
