The glorious days of the 1950's in Havana were spent basking in the sunshine alongside the ocean, pools of posh resorts, and on the grounds of the Havana Yacht Club. Enjoy our home made mojitos or one of our specialty cocktails paired with our daily made entrees.
"Loved this restaurant for the ambiance and food. The wine list was also very good. The only problem we encountered was that this is a cigar bar as well so there is a lot of smoking in the bar - including cigarettes. Although the windows/doors are open it still really causes a problem. And, even though the dining room is separated, you can still smell the smoke. I am just too used to dining without annoying smoke these days. But, definitely recommend the food. Appetizers are best."

"A friends recommended Havana 59 to us and we were very pleased. The service was very attentive and our waiter was knowledgable of the menu and made excellent recommendations. The food was delicious. We will definately go back not only for the food, but also for the three amazing outdoor bars / patios."

"I am a bit of a foodie and as such this food is VERY doable. What is neat about this place is the experience. The building is rustic and interesting making for great conversation. It is impossible to leave Havana 59 feeling anything but happy. The service is sensational, the ambiance is terrific, and the cuisine is quite nice."

"I know its spicy cuban food but we'd love more of an option to hold the spice; our waiter said we could not and that turned us off a little, this time around. We still love the open air feel, the terrific mojitos that were recommended & of course the cigars"

"Another nice evening at Havana 59. As always, the Cuban nachos were excellent. Their Spanish pizza was very good. My guest ordered steak frites well done. A well done steak is usually a death knell for a good tasty steak. However, this steak was not only tender, but quite tasty. Still, I, personally, prefer steaks cooked less thoroughly. My ahi tuna was not as good as it was during my previous visit, but quite good nevertheless. This is a restaurant at which it is hoped I get to dine often."

"Great ambiance and food is pretty good. Front of building opens to Market Area so on a nice night it is a great place to sit, drink, and have a meal."

"We enjoy the food at Havana 59. Our waiter started out strong and faded after he got our dinner order. One annoyance is that if you sit near the door that separate the dining from from the bar, you will leave smelling like a cigar."

"Very busy... Waitress was running around and not very attentive. I asked for a limo for my drink three times and never received them. The smoke was horrible!!! Food was great but we were super rushed"

"Reese was an amazing waitress. My sister & I had a great app. The nachies had fried plantains instead of corn tortillas YUM. Vickie had a tuna steak over a citrus jicama salad & I had the "Taste" entree. It has so much slow cooked meat mmm mmm I'm superbly satiated. RIDELISH-Q-NESS! Finished up w/ a slice of key lime cheesecake. OMG =] Our new Monday night spot...-Frankie"

"Great Mojito and some of the daily deals/happy hour specials are great, but the drinks are pricey, seem to always be under-staffed, and the food is hit or miss. Similarly, the non-smoking dining room stays cold in the winter due to the poor insulation and still reeks of cigar smoke due to poor ventilation and separation. For great Cuban in Richmond, try Kenn Tico instead. GREAT Mojitos though...if you're just looking for drinks!"

"Very good food but pricey, especially with a slow service. The setting is good for groups but you need more waiters to attend a larger group. We waited almost 45min for the 1st drink to arrive apparently there were not enough glasses available because they were too hot from the dishwasher. It does not seem acceptable."

"I'm not a fan of the menu change. There appear to be more "designer" entries rather than just plain, good Cuban food. I really liked the old '59 Chopped Salad and that has changed, not for the better. Mojoitos were only medicore and they used to be great. I want the old Havana '59 back!"

"Fantastic restaurant for something out of the ordinary in terms of food, fun, and atmosphere. Foold was fantastic. We decided to do salads and several small plates instead of entrees. These were tasty, the right size to share, and just so different...the Spanish sausage on goat cheese is out of the world. We had just enought room for desserts: tres Leches cake (our favorite) and the fried plantans."

"Havana 59 was a great find. We used a Living Social coupon. Reese was our server and she was outstanding! The food was superb. I had the Taste of Habana which I would recommend to anyone who cannot decide what to order. My husband had the Trout which he said was the best he has ever eaten. Prices are moderate and the Key Lime Pie was to die for just like Reese recommended!"

"I brought a friend here for his 30th b'day for a nice low key yet fun evening. It was his first time here and I have come several times for food and salsa night. The food was pretty good and filling. The mojitos wrote excellent, especially the pomegranate. Our server was very polite, patient as we were slightly indecisive, and energetic. She was friendly and attentive. For a Friday night, the dining area was almost full but not as much as the bar, which is known for the drinks and cigar choices. It is separated by a door and didn't bother us once whatsoever. My friend is asthmatic and has awful allergies, yet did not once complain. Vibrant nightlife and cobblestone streets make for a nice view while dining.will continue returning"

"The Valentines Day Menu was FABULOUS.. Our waitress TERESA was awesome.. the bartender upstairs was delightful and the music and Sala Dancing was quite an experience for a "weekday" smile. I have been dining at Havana 59 since it opened and it is always a wonderful experience when I go there . Our Husbands enjoyed good cigars and the roses that were given out were quite a nice touch!!!!"

"Kind of a neat place with character. We wanted to try dishes with Cuban flair, so we had the cuban nachos first. Nice presentation with the plantain chips, and the black bean salsa was great. I had the coastal paella, which was very good...especially the chicken. My wife had the empanadas. She like them, but I thought they were just a little too "pastry". We don't typically go for dessert, but we split a slice of homemade key lime pie. It was amazing. I might come back for dessert and coffee alone! The only negative to this place is that the bar area also serves as a cigar bar. The strong smokey smell didn't seem that noticeable when we were there, but when we got home, you definitely smelled it in your clothes. All in all, I would go back."

"As always, great experience, and we made it in on a Friday during happy hour, so got a great deal on glasses of wine (awesome house tempranillo) and appetizer. Only problem was my nose got stuffy from the bar side smoke, even though we were on the non-smoking side. Not complaining, just warning if you have issues with smoke like my nose does, just keep that in mind while the windows are closed during the winter."

"My husband loves the paella here and they always have delicious, creative special dishes. The noise is an issue and it's hard to heat in the winter because it used to be a garage repair shop so it's cold but it's a fun local spot that we go to again and again as a couple & with friends."

"Our group of college buddies came to Havana for pre-formal dining. The food was fantastic! You guys were great with our large table needs and we really appreciated that :) The only issue we experienced at the end was the bill--the waitress didn't divide it up before she printed it, then said she was unable to print separate bills. This wouldn't have been an issue, however, when we wrote down what each of us owed & attempted to pay separately the bill got messed up. In the end, we felt like we got screwed on the bill (the waitress kept taking tip out of what we each paid then told us we hadn't paid the whole bill...we were leaving the cash tip at the table...) Otherwise, great dining experience and we would go back again--Excellent food!"

"They must have 9 different Mojitos on the bar menu. The regular Mojito during happy hour [until 7:30 p.m. on a Friday night was $4.00. What a bargain! The food was good, but too salty and spicy, but hey, it is Cuban after all. One person in our party had plantains four different ways including dessert and he was ecstatic!"
