"This was a very good deal for Restaurant Week. Three courses only $27.95. We had foi gras and fish tacos for appetizers. The fish was a very large portion and very good. The foi gras is like eating a pate of butter but I guess people like it. I had duck breast for the main course and it was very nicely cooked but very salty. My husband had braised short ribs and it was very good and beautifully presented. The ice cream sundae for dessert was not at all sweet and the bread pudding was fair. The service was excellent."

"We went to Lolas during restaurant week. The menu was listed online; but it was not the same as the menu we got. People complain about slow service, I complained about too fast service. Servers response,"We need the table at 8:30." The brisket and duck were very good. I had the salmon which was not so good. ..too dry.
The worst part of the night was the singer. He was loud and not so good. We had to shout to hear each other. It is not a quiet restaurant to begin with and the singing made it worse. I did not know they have music Thurs. and Fri nights.
Presentation of food was beautiful. Sides and dessert were good."

"Very disappointed. This is our second visit to Lola. We were excited to return after such a wonderful experience last time. The Matre di was very unfriendly and we almost walked out then. The server was friendly but inexperienced. He was not able to help us with drink or wine selection. We chose a Tempranello. It was $14/glass and we had to leave much of it due to sediment. We shared this with the server and the bartender said "oh ya that is the way Tempranello's are. We were not impressed to say the least. We will not go back."

"I was so pleasantly surprised here at Lola's. the wait staff was so friendly and the chef was always present, checking in on us and answering all of our questions. With so many choices on the menu, go for the tasting menu! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."

"kThis was my first time to this establishment and I was pleasantly surprised. The food and presentation were both amazing. I chose the seared foie gras which turned out to be the best I ever had. My mixed seafood entree was delicate and tender. The portion size was just right."

"Chef Michael has an amazing talent and finesse - his food is extraordinary and innovative. I suggest you go hungry as you will want to try a few things on the menu. Also - LOVE that they removed the TV that was once in the dining room. It is a distraction and I feel like if you want to eat and watch TV you should stay at home - It does not belong in a restaurant of this caliber."

"This is without question the best restaurant on Long Island. With a scaled up wine list, it would rival the best New York has to offer. The 5 course tasting menu at $65 is a steal."

"Very flavorful food. Duck dishes, wild mushroom pizza, beets and burrata -- it is all great! Perhaps they could use a few light dishes on menu to balance all the rich food. Very talented chef and lovely wait staff."

"Four of us ate here for a siblings' dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the offerings. Service was a little distracted but didn't cause any problems. Bread that accompanies the torchon of foie gras was delayed and meager. Had to request another roll so that all at the table could have something to spread the appetizer on something. Might reconsider this presentation. Otherwise, everything was lovely. The scallops, duck sliders, Korean fried chicken, black cod, smoked brisket were all great and thoroughly enjoyed. Enjoyed the virgin cocktails as well. Will definitely return."

"This was one of the best places I have ever eaten, and since I travel 2-3x/month, that is saying a lot. I had the lobster/shrimp/scallops dish, with carmelized leeks and sweet potato gnocci. There must have been an entire lobster! And perfectly cooked - not a bit overdone. I even ordered dessert, which is rare. It was a special for the night - and was light, incredible and perfect as an ending. I made reservations for a different restaurant for my second night in Great Neck - but I just cancelled them and booked once again at Lola's. Incredible!"

"Food was good, in particular the Miso Cod. However the service staff has been poorly trained. Our bottle of wine was late, and did not arrive until dinner. The check arrived before we were served coffee. The restaurant could use better staff training."

"My husband and I went V-Day so it was crowded which is prob why we had some issues. When we got there they told us that they didn't have us down in the bk. I made the reserv. weeks in advance. The hostess was somewhat smug, but did find us a table. The service was horrendous, which ruined the whole dining experience. The waitress took our order and literally never came back to the table; not to ask if we wanted another drink, not to see how the food was, not even to give us our check -we had to ask a bus boy for it. The food was good, but the service killed it. I think that a place like Lola could be exceptional if the service was impecible, especially when it's crowded-that's what sets restaurants apart from the others-We will try it again"

"Went for a Wednesday night trip. The scene was very quiet, as could be expected for a Wed. night. The menu had a superb selection and a "fusion" flair to it. We enjoyed the scallop dishes. The spicy shrimp dish really lived up to the tune of spicy and other "small" plates we had we tasty. The chef also stopped by to see how our meals were. Nioe touch but I am sure that may not happen on the weekend."

"Lola is a fantastic find! It is one of the rare restaurants on Long Island that creates truly unique dishes. Food is very complex with unexpected but fabulous flavor combinations. I will definitely be back to taste everything but for now the Lamb sliders are my favorite!"

"Outstanding as always. They had a large party next to us of 20 people that arrived after us, but the staff asked them politely to be considerate of others in the restaraunt. they apologized repeatedly which showed their sensitivity to the other guests. Food is always spectacular in terms of flavors that jump off the plate. Always a great night out."

"Been here about 4 times, food is PHENOMENAL! Kobe burger is amazing , the duck is ridiculous, the foie gras is so decadent. I tried the "general tso chicken" last time and it really was spectacular. Also my wife and I always get one of the pizza torts , they are ridiculous as well. One of my favorite restaurants , close by in great neck."

"Perfect on every level: Exquisite food, artistic presentation, attentive service, lovely atmosphere. One of the best meals you will ever eat. Factor in that it is also close to the center of town, with convenient parking (and even walkable from LIRR), and there is simply nothing not to love about Lola."

"This is definitely a comeback place! We started the dinner with prosecco and was served the best we have ever tasted in restaurants! The appetizer, cod fish, was good to the last bite! For our entree, both my sister and I ordered the duck, which we agreed, was the best we have ever eaten in a restaurant. (Know that both of us dine out often, together or separately with our family and friends.)Chris, our server, was very friendly and efficient. We also appreciated that the chef, Michael Ginor, came out to explain what is on our plate. Actually, Chris also explained to us earlier what was on the appetizer plate we ordered. We thought those gestures were nice touches in an already satisfying dining experience. The dessert was also good.Bravo!"

"My out-of-town friend requested really good food in Great Neck, and was not disappointed with Lola. Our five diners made our way through ten tapas dishes (portions were large enough to subdivide into meaningful portions). The food varied from very good to excellent. Chicken breast and tagliatelle were "only" very good; other items, including duck and lobster sliders, scallops in lobster sauce, duck confit, hanger steak, were excellent. Our desserts--ice cream sundae and key lime pie--were OK but not wonderful. We dined early; the place filled by the end of our meal. Noise was never a problem as our party was able easily to converse across our table. After prompt service from ordering through entrees, dessert was inexplicably delayed."
