EightK at Viceroy Snowmass
Eight K is a vibrant new addition to the Snowmass and Aspen restaurant scene. A quick breakfast before the slopes, lunch with the family or an evening out will all be treated with the stylish sophistication that defines the Viceroy. The sleek mountain design provides a consistent backdrop for casually elegant dining. The room draws you in from the lobby with a long bar perfect for groups to gather and graze from a menu of small plates. Inside the dining room are two communal tables, two private dining rooms and patio seating offering an abundance of different options be it for dining, cocktailing or socializing. The menu is distinctly American with strong emphasis on local, sustainable and organic ingredients.

"Wonderful restaurant with great food and exceptional service. We loved Katie and all of the staff. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is elegant without being pretentious. Loved the large chairs and pillows. The peanut butter pretzel cake was awesome. I had read a review about being seated next to noisy families, but the restaurant is very spacious and has great acoustics. Much better than so many noisy places that require you to shout to your table mate."

"Ate here Christmas and couldn't wait to get back spring break. Wow what a let down. Not nearly as good this time, must have changed chefs or something. Snapper was way under cooked, veal was plan and doughnuts on favorite dessert were hard and old or over cooked. Great waiting staff, service is always great, but the food has to be better for their prices!!!"

"We tried 8K for the first time this winter, looking for something in Snowmass, rather than traveling to Aspen as we always have done in the past. It was good, but not great. The dining room is open to the bar area and as a result pretty noisy--difficult to have a conversation at our rather large table for eight. Some of our orders were great--some just OK. I had a pasta with truffles that used a LOT of truffles, but really wasn't especially well flavored in spite of that. Others in the group enjoyed their meals, but no one was raving. Service was very well-intended, but seemed that there were too few waitstaff around to really attend to detail and take care of the number of tables each had. I'll keep going to Aspen"

"We have eaten at 8K many times this year. The food has always been good as it was this time. However, the service the night that we went was horrible. First, we were seated and then waited 15 minutes for a waiter to come over for drink orders. Second, the waiter gave the wrong order for one of our drinks to the bartender --- twice. We were told "no bread until the appetizers come out" which took about 20 minutes after ordering. Odd, since they were only salads. Then we waited almost 30 minutes for our main courses. After complaining we were told that "our order was being moved up to the front."
The food was good but the experience was horrible. Although it is a "neighboorhood place" for us, I'm sure that we won't rush back."
