"The big restaurants in West Chester people think of are Iron Hill, Landmark, maybe Kildares and Baraby's. I would put Nona's above all of them in terms of the food and atmosphere. Everything is excellent every time I go there, the service is great even when they are busy and the crowd is generally more mature and pleasant then the bar crowd you might run into elsewhere in town. Would recommend to anyone for any occasion."

"Waiter was great and very helpful with our grandsons. Despite the dining room being only half full, it took the kitchen nearly forty minutes to get our orders to the table. (I timed it, as I always do.) Otherwise, all was very good."

"7:00 reservations. Entrée didn't hit the table until 8:35! Long gaps between drinks, salads, and entrees. Food just okay. Not bad...just nothing to distinguish it."

"We had reservations for 7:30 p.m. on 5/11/13 and did not leave the restaurant until almost 10:30 (3 hours for dinner is very long). We were taking our Mother out for Mother's Day. The restaurant was busy. It took over 40 minutes to even order appetizers and our meal. Our waiter appeared frazzled and was obviously manning more than one section because when he left our section he was gone for a very long time so no service was provided.refill of drinks, etc. Our appetizer plates sat empty in front of us for more than 30 minutes. The food was good but the service made a bigger impression than the food. Dessert took 25 mins to come out! The prices were more expensive than other better italian restaurants so I highly doubt we will be returning."

"We has reservations at another restaurant but needed to change the time and they could not accommodate us. Ended up seeing Nonnas was in the same area. Food was delicious and being italian its hard to impress. Very loud atmosphere but it still had a great vibe. Our waiter was fantastic, never felt rushed. Can't wait to go back soon."

"We enjoyed our dinner. I had the Chilean Sea Bass with instructions to cook it rare. It came out perfect There was a little mixup with a substution, but they quickly rectified the problem. The food was very good, but not over the top."

"We four sisters meet each month for dinner. We each take turns picking the restaurant. This month I picked Nonna's. We had been there before, and loved it....this time was no different. The food and service were excellent....and the chef was very accomodating when it came to making substitutions. Since we meet on the early side for dinner, the dining room was quiet. We will definitely be returning to Nonna's. Thanks to the staff for providing a very enjoyable dining experience."

"We had an unusual experience which was well handled by our server, Drew and the owner. My wife ordered a fish dish which had some small bones, they offered a replacement and did not charge us, they were very concerned and showed great management skills.
We also had a discount coupon which we did not print correctly, they still honored the coupon which was not their respnsibility once again great management.
Our server, Drew was excellent my meal was very good and the drinks were good and modestly priced.
We will return"

"Food is excellent; very authentic. I've had the lobster raviloi and the steak here before and both have been phenominal! The service was very good too. The only turn-off's were that it can be a bit crowded in the restaurant, but I'd imagine the reason is because the food is so good! Also- when I came for dinner the last time on a Saturday night they had some lady singing with a band upfront by the bar section which is also near the waiting lobby; she sounded good but the volume of the microphone she was singing into was WAY to loud- I couldn't even hear the hostess who was only 6 inches in front of me greet me or ask me for our name when we walked in. Thank God we got seated in the back of the restaurant because we almost walked out."

"Dinner was very good this week. I am gluten free and was very happy to find that they have a gluten free pasta option, available with almost any of their sauces. While the pasta itself was "ok", the sauce was delicious. I had the Nonna linguine (I believe that's the name). It was a spicy tomato sauce with mussels, clams, shrimp, and calamari . They did not disappoint with the seafood. It was plentiful and delicious. Will definitely be back."

"The short ribs were the toughest I've ever had anywhere. The calamari "grilled" was very good. Putting us at a table alongside the bar ruined everything. It was way too noisy! $36 for a bottle of wine that retails for $10 is excessive."

"I dined at Nonnas for my birthday and the food was delicious but the service wasn't that great. I had to ask the server at least twice to refill our water glasses and my birthday was not acknowledged, after I put that in the notes. The food was very good though."

"Saved the night! Went on a Saturday night, after leaving a formal event. We were looking for a table for two and had remembered reading about this restaurant in Main Line Today magazine. Hit the OpenTable App and got a cozy table for two! Our server Drew welcomed us and provided the correct amount of attention and privacy between table visits. We ordered from a long list of wine options by the glass, and a specialty drink called the FRANK which was spot on! We had the special flatbread for the evening (crab and avocado - deliciousness!) as a shared appetizer. My date enjoyed the traditional Egg Plant Parm which was an overly generous portion and I went with the home made goat cheese & roasted pepper ravioli. WOW! We'll be back!"

"My husband, who eats everything, could not eat his dinner because it was so chewy, it became inedible. The noise level was too high, making it impossible to hear the person sitting across from you. It was very disappointing."

"This was a special occasion and Nonna's was accomodating. The waitress was friendly, helpful and competent. Food was wonderful and the whole experience was enjoyable. I particularly like that the chef ensured a non-salt delicious Dover Sole dish for me. We've been here several times and have not been disappointed ever. We'll keep coming back!"

"To be honest, the food is chronically underseasoned. The staff is responsive and attentive but not really personally engaged, if you know what I mean. The place is always busy, but given the food quality, I am not sure why."

"Great menu, good mix of knowns (Chicken Marsala) and new (lobster raviolo). Portions were large, and prices were quite reasonable. Parking in West Chester can be hard, even after hours, but this place is worth the trouble. Not especially 'romantic', but if you're looking for a good date restaurant, this will do well. We'll be going back."

"This was our first visit. Everyone in our party of 6 enjoyed his dinner immensely. We had heard that the portions were meager, but did NOT find that to be true. The prices seemed very fair (approx. $22 for entree, $6.50 for house wine). My brother kept talking about his nut-crusted tilapia. I loved the goat-cheese ravioli. The salmon was melt-in-your-mouth with excellent mashed potatoes. 6:30 pm and the house was already very busy, but servers were attentive and patient.
Because the dining rooms are small, tables are pretty close together, and conversations grew noisy all around. It wasn't a problem. I'm just making an observation.
We would definitely like to return, and hope to try the desserts next time."

"It's was our second visit and we were disappointed by our seating- corner next to the kitchen entrance. Very busy and noisy. Added to the seating placement was the unfortunate loud talkers at both large tables seated across from us which made conversation difficult since we were in a corner. I left with a headache. The food however does not disappoint. Service was poor - the waiter didn't bring bread, butter, extras (e.g., fresh Parmesan, red pepper, etc.) without requesting them each time; in our previous visit these items were offered. He was not aware of our menus being two different versions and didn't fix it when we shared that with him. Twice the food I ordered were not available but the server didn't know what the chef had."

"Had dinner reservations for 8pm with a group that were so excited to try Nonna's as none of us had ever visited before. Four of us arrived to 7:55 to meet the other two people that were already there waiting for us. The couple that had been there was told that our table was ready and they were just waiting for all of us to arrive, which we did a few minutes early. Unfortunately something must have happened to our table that was ready because we were kept waiting after table after table of others were seated. We were seated at 8:40 without any offer of a drink or app on the house. The waiter was fantastic and the food was good. Would not retun if we had somewhere to be afterwards."

"very dissapointed in my dish. Seafood & Pasta. clams were bland as well as the mussels. Calamari had a few decent pieces but it had multiple end pieces that were unchewable. Scallps, no taste. Marinara...same thing, bland. My wife had the veal. Overdone."
